Singularity is the kind of shooter we haven't seen in a while, one who doesn't take itself too seriously. The realism of games like Call of Duty or Battlefield: Bad Company is traded in for weird weapons and awesome powers. The TMD makes for some interesting moments, but should have been more elaborate. It's also a shame the game gets far too easy half way through. Still Singularity is a great pastime in these quiet periods.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior starts of quite good, but after an hour or so you'll through the game in the bin because of an impossible mission. Everything the game did well before that suddenly doesn't count anymore.

Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies is a nice arcade game which brings a lot of action. It is too bad you see the ending credits after three hours.

Transformers: War for Cybertron focuses on intense shooting action and sets the example for the Transformers-license. The story isn't really interesting, but gives you more fun and variation than you would expect. Add an excellent multiplayer mode tot the whole and you got a game that will drag you through these summer days.

Sam & Max: They Stole Max's Brain! contains some smart puzzles and a strong story, but slightly disappoints after the great Sam & Max: The Tomb of Sammun-Mak. The game is quite short, but the predictable cliffhanger still leaves you wanting more.

SBK-09 is a good looking gaming. The race feeling is realistic, there are a lot of bikes and drivers to choose for and all the official circuits are available. The flaw of the game is the lack of modes. This is the reason that the game is getting boring over time and that SBK-09 is only interesting for real racing fans.

Pro Cycling Manager 2010 isn't the best game of the series. It brings little new features to the table, the technical problems of the last games are still there and little effort was put into the database. But at the same time this is a game that will be loved by all cycling fans. Though next year the series really has to make a step forward!

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a great game to spend your summer holiday with. The story is of a perfect length and grabs you throughout the game. Building your own Outer Heaven adds a nice RPG-element and the cooperative mode is a blast to play with friends. The only slight issue the game has is that the boss battles towards the end are extremely difficult.

You probably already know if Green Day: Rock Band is something for you. If you're a fan of the band you won't have to think twice to get rocking with this insane amount of Green Day-tracks. If you're not a fan, you can easily skip this edition. It brings little to nothing new to the table and isn't a full step forward in the series.

Alpha Protocol is one big deception. The stealth action is lacking and the enemies sometimes act ridiculously. Because of this most of the missions are a drag. A shame since the created world lends itself perfectly for a spy game. The surprisingly fun conversation system, in which the choices have a real impact on the gameplay, is a spark in the dark mess called Alpha Protocol.

The Sims 3: Ambitions is an add-on that actually adds something. It changes the way the game plays and adds six different occupations which are great fun, but can be a bit hard to combine with a large virtual family.

UFC Undisputed 2010 is a great improvement compared to the 2009 installment. The balance between the fighters is much better, it looks better and the waiting times between the fights have been greatly reduced.

Modnation Racers is the perfect party racer, with a lot of depth and a million customization options. The only bad thing about the game are the loading times, which are way to long.

Because of the many different power-ups Blur has a deep tactical layer that especially holds its own online. The singleplayer mode teaches you the basics, but the real fun is to be had online, or split screen with your friends. For people without an internet connection the lifespan of the game is significantly cut down because of the lack of quickplay.

'More' and 'better' are the key words that perfectly describe Super Mario Galaxy 2. This superb second act doesn't only offer the rock-solid gravity concept we come to know and love, but excels the first game in every way. It is fanservice at its best.

Red Dead Redemption perfectly captures the essence of the old West, in a way Rockstar Games does best. Although they didn't quite nail the Honor/Fame-system and some side missions tend to become tedious after a while, this is the best Western game I ever played and arguably the best game this year.
