PC FormatA welcome return to the Prince we all know and love, but we feel that now we know him just a little too well. [Aug 2010, p.92]
-
Forgettable story, linear levels, some technical snafus, boss copy-pasting, combat issues... the list of bits that don't quite cut it is long and it is all over far too quickly, yet Forgotten Sands is a fine addition to the Prince of Persia storyline that plays well and manages to capture some of the platforming magic of Sands of Time.
-
It's really trying to be as brilliant and engaging as Sands of Time - but it does not succeed. Forgotten Sands is just a good, solid action-adventure with lots of fun moments, especially when it comes to acrobatics. But the combat feels blunt and the story is downright uninspired. Still, if you like the series, you should definitely give a try.
-
The new Prince of Persia provides a satisfying epilogue to the Sands of Time trilogy, with the same kind of combats, puzzle solving and platforming. Too many familiar mechanics and a sure lack of flow keep this game from being the best Prince of Persia yet.
-
It looks like Ubisoft can't leave the prince alone. This game looks a bit rushed and it's the weakest of the series. Nonetheless it's a good game and more demanding than the last one.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Attempt to turn back time to Sands of Time succeeded only partially: Forgotten Sands is technically great but we've seen this story a long time ago in a much better game. [July 2010]
-
Only those who never saw previous games in the Prince of Persia series, will find The Forgotten Sands interesting. By ripping off their 2008 Prince of Persia in everything except for backdrops, the developers failed to keep their promise and didn't even try to fill in the blanks between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Ah well, who cares about some old plot holes when there is a Hollywood blockbuster to milk?
