Gorn 2 is a decent sequel that takes the simple fun from the original Gorn and tweaks the formula just enough with even more traps, power-ups, and a decent cast of fleshed-out foes to battle. Fans of the original are bound to eat it up, while those new to the series will find a compelling comedy brawler with buckets of charm and chum to spare.

As Call of Duty: Black Ops features great graphics, strong gameplay and almost perfect multiplayer options, this add-on is a must to players who enjoy their world of online multiplayer, not to mention zombies.

A great port of a great game. Civilization VI offers so much to do, and with two expansion packs bundled in, now is the perfect time to experience it on a console.

SKALD is loving, expertly crafted, niche experience. It's Commodore 64 games and H.P. Lovecraft stories, so you'll have the best experience if you love both.

Monster Hunter Rise is a great game with an even better PC port that I believe is the best way to enjoy the game especially if you're a hardcore fan of the series that prefers to hunt monsters in the most optimal way possible.

PES 2013 is once again a lot more realistic and gives the player more (tactical) control. Due to the slow tempo and the many tactical ways of putting your team on the field, every player can put a well thought through game on the pitch. Unfortunately the goal is mostly defended by incapable, badly trained chimps and on top of that the game also has some traditional PES-problems: bad animations, few licenses and an overall lacking finish. PES 2013 is like F.C. Barcelona playing in a tiny 500-person stadium; the quality of the game can never really be fully appreciated.

This is the same Civilization VI experience you would expect to find on a PC, for better and for worse. It’s portable Civilization VI and it actually works. Civ fans probably didn’t even read this far down before they made the decision to jump in. Series newcomers shouldn’t be afraid to give it a shot, there’s a great tutorial and the reworked interface makes things seem a little less daunting, for the first few dozen hours at least.

In the end Alice: Madness Returns is a fun game that really twists the traditional arcade platformer with the acid like world of the original Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Royalty & Legacy went from an underwhelming reveal to a Royal surprise. It's a more than fine pack for any Medieval Fantasy, swordfighting lover like myself. It's world is gorgeous and full of lore, and clear love and passion went in to it. It is not a must, but a welcome addition, and what it provides it does well.

Overall, Avernum: Escape From the Pit is a solid RPG experience that combines classic style, a compelling story, and generous content to create an indie game that is very much worth your time. If you're looking for a complex single player RPG and value content at the expense of visuals, don't miss this title.

If you’re a fan of Pokémon, Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! creates a decent experience on the Nintendo Switch that takes the series back to basics which makes for an enjoyable game as you attempt to catch all these little critters. However with the inclusion of the Poké Ball Plus, this does transcend the real-world with the virtual-world that builds a much more interactive experience on the Nintendo Switch, especially with the ability of using it with Pokémon GO and your smartphone.

Gotham Knights is a beautiful game that tells an amazing story. Fans of Batman and Arkham Knights will definitely like what they see. Still, the game’s over-reliance on grapple and grind can wear thin, even with a terrific nightly progression system that advances main and side missions wonderfully. Final judgment should be reserved for robust multiplayer inclusion, however.

It’s easy to get muddled in the endless sea of roguelikes, but occasionally, you wander on one that feels really special. Forestrike ticks that box. With a simple premise and a great combination of pick-up-and-play combat and involved strategy, Forestrike makes for a mighty fine martial arts adventure.

I think it’s a fun little game and am happy to recommend it… it might be a little pricey for what’s there (I completed the main game in a bit over 6 hours), there are the extra challenges and each play through can provide different experiences… but perhaps wait for a sale to get the best value.

Sound in the game is superbly done, the music sound track fits the look and feel of the game. With sweeping grand music and drumming beats fit for the grand epic adventure that the game is. So too is the voice acting, with flair and conviction and an earnest truth ringing in the words.

We may have seen it all before but the EyePet Move edition transcends the original premise and creates a rather well made virtual pet game that is so abundant on the Wii and the DS. Great graphics, good use of the PlayStation architecture, this might become a must have game for the younger gamer.

Summary: For fans of Rogue-likes Shiren the Wanderer is a perfect game to play for people who have not played this genre before. I would still suggest giving this game a go. The overall gameplay loop is easy to grasp, but it takes time and patience to Master. Some may be put off by the repetitiveness and overall difficulty level which is understandable but I would implore people to keep going.

All in all, this game was quite fun to play and discover the secrets of the ancient language. I enjoyed the freedom of choice and the flow-on effects of those choices. This is a game for anyone who is interested in adventure games – it definitely would appeal to a wide-range of players.

Quality-of-life changes is the name of MLB The Show 24. It’s a great addition to the series, without any major flaws– the biggest might be that it hasn’t committed fully to the current gen, but it’s still the best looking baseball game out there. The perfect swings are just as satisfying, the baseball card collecting isn’t stingy, and the career mode still gives you that feeling of an underdog rising to the top against all odds. So if you love baseball sims, you’ll love MLB The Show 24.
