The Sims™ 4 Royalty & Legacy Expansion Pack

Your Family, Your Legacy — Build up Prestige, maintain Unity, and be the powerhouse family everyone wants to keep up with. But remember, elevated status means elevated drama.
Claim Your Crown — Many worlds can be kingdoms, but only one Sim can wear the crown. Shape your kingdom, best your rivals, and maybe woo a Noble Frog as you climb to the top.
Do It for the Plot — Forbidden loves and secret children are just a few situations that can become saucy Scandals. When faced with a Scandal, Sims can apologize, atone, wait it out, or deny everything.
Your Kingdom Awaits — Ondarion is a world with rich history and powerful Dynasties where opulence is around every corner. With an empty throne, the stage is set and the stories are yours to tell.

The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy has not only succeeded in being an excellent Expansion Pack, but it also proved me wrong in thinking that it was going to be needlessly complicated and a grind to play. For me, it was the opposite: a joy to play. I had a lot of fun throwing myself into the new features and activities on offer, such as setting up my own Dynasty, getting established in the Noble Career, and engaging in Swordsmanship and Grand Balls. Plus, I was thoroughly impressed with the new world Ondarion. It's simply beautiful. There's not very much to fault with this pack. I honestly don't know if Royalty & Legacy is going to be the last Expansion for The Sims 4, as this could be a false rumor or a simple misunderstanding. I sincerely hope that it isn't the last, but if this is the case, the long run of The Sims 4 Expansion Packs will end on a high note with Royalty & Legacy.

Ultimately, my favorite thing about this new expansion to The Sims 4 is the creativity it will inspire in the gaming community, and I can't wait to see what people make of it.

Royalty & Legacy went from an underwhelming reveal to a Royal surprise. It's a more than fine pack for any Medieval Fantasy, swordfighting lover like myself. It's world is gorgeous and full of lore, and clear love and passion went in to it. It is not a must, but a welcome addition, and what it provides it does well.

I wanted to like this a lot more than I did.

I think The Sims 4 Dynasties is a mid-range expansion. I like the clothes and crowns it offers, and the scandals are a nice addition to the game. Building and nurturing a dynasty isn't my style of play, but for many, they'll definitely add a lot more fun to the game.

While some of my appreciation is clouded by my disappointment in what Royalty & Legacy could have been, rather than what it is, I can still see the care that’s gone into this pack’s overall design, and it does add plenty of neat, smaller features that make Sims life more meaningful.

The Sims 4: Dynasties and Lineages offers a world rich in storytelling and an innovative noble career path, but loses momentum due to reused content, bugs in the scandal system, and a Build/Buy mode that does not justify its status as a full expansion.
