Baldur's Gate III is not entirely without flaws, and they tend to become more noticeable in the game's last act (especially when it comes down to optimization), but none of that change the fact that we are dealing with a CRPG masterpiece and Larian's crowning achievement after an already long and quite successful career. Weather you are a returning fan or a new one, there is almost no reason to not give this one a go, if you are passionate about computer role-playing games.

Its world design has made the structures of the previous soulslike games obsolete. Simply a new milestone for its genre.

An old-school expansion pack, improving the game all-around in ways no simple DLC could have achieved. XCOM 2 was great to begin with, and the new content brings it straight to the Olympus of turn-based strategy games.

With The Last of Us: Part 2, Naughty Dog delivers yet another masterpiece by telling a story about revenge, anger, grief, and regrets, that you should experience at least once in a lifetime, no matter what.

Hades is a contender for one of the best roguelikes in recent years. The extraordinary magnetism that surrounds him, the desire that instills in the player to try relentlessly, maybe even just to read the umpteenth sarcastic comment of the deity on duty, are very valuable features. Supergiant Games' tricks in outlining every little detail of his creature are children of a true and palpable passion. Rare merchandise these days, which no player should miss.

Half-Life: Alyx is an incredible demonstration of what can be done with virtual reality. Nobody, so far, has put the amount of resources and research that Valve did. This might not be the killer application VR needs, but it’s an excellent game, worthy of the main series of Half-Life.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt isn’t perfect (yet?), but it’s one of the best written RPGs ever.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a majestic and profound experience, essentially adding an entirely new game in a vast, detailed, and artistically stunning world. It's the most ambitious and rich DLC created by FromSoftware, an essential expansion for those who loved Elden Ring and want substantial, challenging, and fresh endgame content.

There’s something special in Alto’s Adventure, and it goes beyond the stunning visuals or the refined gameplay: it’s that something that makes games great, and there’s a lot of that in it.

The best Mario Kart game ever is back... even better, with a Battle Mode that has finally been fixed. Playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe anywhere, anytime is (almost) priceless.

This isn't a game for all, but it's a real blast if you like story-driven adventure and powerful atmosphere. Its combat system is not as deep as it should be, but nevertheless it's fully functional to the narration, the real star of this game.

A great platformer, with beautiful graphics, excellent music and an inspired level design. The Murfy levels use all the potential of the GamePad, unraveling new and exciting perspectives in the genre. If you own a Wii U, this one's a no-brainer.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of a Lost Era is a real celebration of the Japanese role-playing game, an icon that brings together all those elements that can elevate it to the average quality, consecrating it as one of the best JRPGs ever, along with very few other exponents of the genre. Square-Enix perfects one of his most representative works, putting together an immense JRPG, rich of contents and with many, small filings that improve infinitely the fruition. Last but not least, compared to the eleventh standard episode, this special version also finds a shining technical aspect, thanks to a graphics rich of elements, with an exquisite design and a granitic frame-rate. An essential classic that has made and will make school.

A masterpiece, but beyond that a way to reach for the sky for all those people who would love to fly but can't. Microsoft Flight Simulator is a wonderful gift to flight sim lovers worldwide.

A true masterpiece, amazing on the Sony platforms just like it was on Xbox 360. If you never played Fez, now it's your chance. Don't miss it.

It may be a bit too easy for veteran players, especially in the first half, but by now we know that's mostly to be expected from Nintendo.

Dark Souls II is a great follow up to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, maybe the best possible sequel. It's more accessible, but still hard, mysterious, always engaging and incredibly rewarding. A masterpiece.

Skylanders Trap Team not only plays in a different league from other mobile games, but it’s probably a whole different game. This is the same game you can play on a home console, but here you just need your tablet, because Trap Team’s Starter Pack takes care of everything else. It’s a new way to approach the mobile market, and it’s a winning one.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is an audacious sequel that rebuilds rather than extends, pairing a vast, intricately interlinked world with Hornet’s precise, silken movement to turn exploration into a dance. The Emblems + Tools system trims the wild build creativity of Charms for cleaner, tighter combat—coherent, but sometimes limiting when arenas pile up and bosses lean on minions. Punishing yet mostly fair, its early-game severity gives way to a thrilling sense of growth, all wrapped in exquisite art direction. A new benchmark for the genre: cohesive, densely packed, rich, memorable.

Microsoft Flight Simulator lands on Xbox with a great porting that, despite a few flaws and a painful UI, recreates the same, magical simulation experience that PC users has enjoyed in the past year, thanks to a great (but not perfect) controller adaptation of the main mechanics and the same additional contents provided in the last few months on PC by Asobo Studio.

The Last of Us: Part 2 Remastered is the best way to enjoy Naughty Dog's masterpiece, not only for the graphical improvements and the full support for PlayStation 5-exclusive features (DualSense included), but also for the addition of very good extras such as the excellent No Return.

Monster Hunter World is a game that requires some initial effort and the ability to endure what may seem like excessive complexity for a time. There is a very real possibility, however, that these efforts will be repaid with enormous satisfaction, and that the game will capture you and won't let you go.

Dota 2 is an excellent game, complex and filled with surprises and rewards for all those patient enough to endure its very steep learning curve.

Neon White is everything you want from a speedrunning game: fast, super precise, well structured and built around short and various levels. This alone would be enough to recommend it, but the package is completed with a unique artistic style, a valuable writing and a clearly original and strange game design that mixes together visual novel, dating sim, first person shooter and platformer. Some very small technical uncertainty in the repetition of the attempts does not affect the overall quality.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is a great JRPG, with a well told story, elemental gameplay and a dazzling world to explore. The massive epilogue, the excellent graphic upgrade and the lightening of some mechanics make it a highly recommended game even for those who have already explored the original. If you know how to go beyond some hesitation in the pace and a video resolution not always up to date, you'll have in your hands a great JRPG.

Majora's Mask 3D is the most unique and fascinating Zelda game in its history, updated both technically and in its mechanics.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is more than an expansion: it’s a generous gift to its fans (both the seasoned and the fresh ones), one that can last for hundreds of hours of the purest monster-hunting fun.
