It’s a far better introduction to the peculiar designs of this superb cult series.

The Sinking City on Nintendo Switch is a surprisingly solid port of a game you probably didn’t expect to see on the Switch, and offers the kind of dark, contemplative mystery that Nintendo’s console was lacking.

While Mosaic is a good game, it’s hard to describe it as enjoyable due to its subject matter. It has the possibility to hit a bit too close home for some, but the overall message once you hit the end might be worth it. It is by no means a bad game, just very heavy handed when it comes to its subject matter.

Megadimension Neptunia VII shows that Compile Heart understands how to use the hardware to make their games feel faster and play better but is again let down by the same flaws the series has had for the last few games.

There are some great ideas in many of the mini-games and the humour is great, but the controls are frustrating and detract from the fun.

Flockers brings new life to the A to B puzzler, with its use of new age tech and brilliant level design making it a must see for fans of the genre, and a great place to start for those who have never seen a Lemming with green hair.

A telling of very human relationships in an interesting everyday fantasy setting. Coffee Talk is slow paced even for a visual novel, but has some unexpected twists that make the journey worthwhile.

Taking clear inspiration from The Banner Saga, Ash of Gods just about does enough to stands on its own merits, and delivers an engaging tactical adventure held back by a few minor faults.

Biomutant is a game that overreaches early, and spends the rest of its run time trying, mostly successfully, to regain its balance. It's lovely to look at and its world is a joy to explore, boots on the ground, but the combat lacks impact and precision, and technical issues mar the experience.

Wallace & Gromit in The Grand Getaway isn't long, and the controls are a touch awkward, but it is filled with the charm Aardman is known for.

Rorona Plus is not an instant classic, but accessible and enjoyable enough that it deserves to be more than just a curio.

It’s not unusual for a new series to have a slow start, and while this is borne from something else I’m going to grant it the leniency that a new series deserves. What we have here is a pilot episode that’s obviously building to something. There are missteps, but I’m hopeful that these will be either eradicated or negligible in the forthcoming episodes.

A solid extra mission, but that’s really all it is. Worth picking up if you’re desperate for some more, and given the replayability factor of the campaign as a whole and the seven possible ways to ship Adolf to the farm, it might last you a little while if you’re the type who chases those leaderboards or loves to squeeze every drop out of every mission.

Fans of the previous games or the anime will not be disappointed, whereas newcomers to the series may find the game a little confusing and slow-paced for the first few hours. However, persevere, and the pace quickly picks up and becomes much more enjoyable.

The refusal to accept ADR1FT being part of the "walking sim" crowd has, weirdly, made it less of an easy recommendation, but a recommendation nonetheless, because although it can be frustrating, it's hauntingly beautiful, and a sensational example of how a well crafted environment can be enough to pull you across the finish line.

Vertical Drop Heroes is a cheap and certainly cheerful 2D platformer, and pretty enjoyable, although it’s unlikely to hold your attention for too long. It’s a game that’s as much about luck and perseverance than actual skill, but Roguelike fans who want something a little lighter might well enjoy this.
