On the whole Guitar Hero IV is THE party game to play together with friends on a weekend. Hours of rock combined with lots of fun and real sweating guarantee lots of fun!

A multiplayer mode still didn’t make it into the concept of LocoRoco 2 and the gameplay also didn’t change. But it will entertain you the same way as the former part did!

What can I say, finally the prettiest shooter arrives on consoles. The Pretty Apple gets all my attention and makes me forget the straight-forward gameplay. Not quite an innovation, but a really great shooter.

Forza Horizon in many aspects orients itself towards the predecessor. But the open world and the festival the game revolves around is incredibly entertaining. Brilliant graphics and the sound of roaring engines round out a great racing game.

If you haven't played Batman: Arkham City yet, you should really do it now with the Armored Edition. It's a very well-done open world action adventure with an formidable atmosphere, that gets seldomly disturbed by technical deficits.

Assassin's Creed 3 mixes good old features with some fresh and innovative ideas. The new character Connor and the setting of the American Revolution fit perfectly. There are some gameplay improvements (e.g. sea battles) which make Assassin's Creed 3 the best game of the franchise.

Despite the enormous amount of deaths you may die in Dark Souls, the game is compelling like no other. While the console version already offered a great package, the Prepare to die Edition adds new content and a few goodies. But beware; a controller is needed to play the game in a reasonable fashion.

A beat 'em up has to be fast, colorful and full of action. All these points have gone into Fate of Two Worlds making the game to a must have for every comic aficionado.

Machinarium is a great, sweet, charming game. Period. Yep, sometimes, it's too difficult, but the idea of the built-in walkthrough is awesome, you'll understand every emotion and hint without having to read a single word, and it's starring a robot. Yeah.

An arcade retro basketball game with dynamic AI, an intense 2 on 2 gameplay and players from the past. I love it.

After Super Mario 3D Land, Nintendo has another hardware seller in Mario Kart 7. While Super Mario 3D Land redefined 3D jump'n'runs, Mario Kart 7 sets also new standards for fun and arcade racers. Mario Kart 7 offers the deepest multiplayer experience in the franchise, but that's not all. It's the cool mix of good old features and fresh gameplay elements, which makes the game so cool.

Darksiders II offers almost everything, a good action adventure needs – variety, explorable landscapes, neat dungeon design, boss fights full of action and a variety of side quests.

On the one hand, the game offers total freedom and the player is absorbed by the game. On the other hand, it's not a game to play in a meanwhile - you need loads of time to get from one point to another and patience to save the game at certain points. That's the reason, why some players already returned the game to the shop.

This game succeeds amazingly in telling a story. It's not perfect, but a great addition to the already incomparable Castlevania franchise.

Xbox 360’s Red Faction: Guerilla is a pure action-explosion game. If you aren´t interested in a very good story but an explosive game, this title could be the one for you.

Dante is back! At times the gameplay may be a little monotonous but there is speed, fun and atmosphere to be found in DMC – Devil May Cry. The new style sits well on Dante and Combichrist's soundtrack perfects the return of the arrogant demon hunter.

This title comes up with a very good story, many plot twists, a “thinking” city and a very charming protagonist with style. A very well done open-world title that offers lots of hours full of fantastic gameplay!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 is the latest and best game in the series. More, it is also the best golf simulation on the Wii. The great amount of game modes, the good gameplay and the useful caddie are the major advantages of the game.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is the fresh breeze the MMORPG genre so urgently needed.

The multiplayer mode is very motivating: Using the splitscreen functionality, you can play the whole story together with up to three friends. Very exciting and funny, but WWII is already a little bit old-fashioned!

If you want to get more of the Warhammer 40k story, there is no way around Chaos Rising. Although quite challenging, this game offers good action and story elements.

Despite some shortcomings in the graphics department and an occasionally questionable AI, Saints Row: The Third is a great game with an amazing open word experience and loads of crazy funny action.

Fallout: New Vegas looks like an Add On to Fallout 3, but that should not mean, that it's a copy of its forerunner. It scores with an great atmosphere, nice story and all the typical and awesome Fallout features.

Due to the new features like the arcade modes and the first person view I can recommend this game even for owners of the former Tiger Woods PGA Tour game. The only weakness are the ugly 2D spectators, but that's just a detail.

Taking control of the ultimate soldier has never been more entertaining. The gameplay and controls of Crysis 2 are outstanding and rate among the best in the genre. Graphics and sound are incredible, the post-apocalyptic atmosphere hasn't been this good since Fallout 3. The unique Crysis 2 is much more than a typical shooter.

Chemistry never was that entertaining.

Due to the fact that you are always on the run for the high score, this game entertains for hours, even if it is quite difficult and doesn’t use bonus items you could earn.

Forget about AAA-Games… Here comes Planetside 2! Epic battles, beautiful graphics and catchy incidental music add up into one of the best MMOFPS experiences to date.

I'm impressed: this balance between accessibilty for beginners and challenge for pros is something other fighting games should strive to copy. Street Fighter X Tekken is in a league of its own, in part thanks to the Gem system. The poor character individualization options and soundtrack are the only notable flaws. A fighting game that anyone – and that's what's special: really anyone – can take a swing at.

If you're into Formula One sports, there is no reason not to try F1 2010. It's your best shot, if you want to find out how a true F1 driver has to act and think.

Sound Shapes is easy to play and fun to handle – a must-have for every Vita-player.

This is boxing like it's meant to be. Great atmosphere, no HUD in the way, big scaled career mode, good gameplay mechanics and lots of tactics. Camera issues aside, this is a boxing title for champions.

When I cannot go to the real court, Top Spin 4 is the proper alternative. Well, the simulation does not always perform at its best, but the game almost perfectly hits the ball and at the moment there is no other tennis game that can keep the pace.

Technically unparalleled. The single player campaign isn't quite as great as Black Ops's story, but the multiplayer mode is outright stunning. That said, Battlefield 3 is the cosole shooter to get this year.

We expected a lot from Monster Hunter Tri, and we didn‘t get disappointed. The setting, graphics, sound and the various multiplayer features are the reasons why this is a highlight of the Wii games line-up this year.

A great 2011 edition needed only small improvements to become the best football manager game in 2012. A combination of great emotion and an incredible in depth management experience makes the Football Manager 2012 a must have for all soccer fans.

Action fans on the Wii really have to buy this game. Trashy, but arrogating fights, a great cell shading look and funny mini games make this bloody tale of revenge to something special.

Because of the many different phases and features in the game, Spore can be called a very creative and motivating game. Playing Darwin rocks!

Episode two puts you in morally ambiguous situations that even a saint wouldn't be able to solve with a clear conscience.

Criterion and EA deliver an entertaining online racer that won't go down in genre history as a revolutionary step in the Need for Speed franchise evolution however. A well done online experience saves an otherwise soulless game.

Killzone 3: Definitely a must-have, boasting its great graphics, messing with your perception, and a pretty nice storyline. Aside from that, there's still some issues in the handling sector, sometimes there's just too little time to react appropriately. While the singleplayer mode on its own is good, multiplayer's simply awesome.

F1 2012 provides licenses, tracks, new modes and the usual high demands to players. The racing simulation consolidates its claim to be the best F1 game on the market.

Stacking is beautiful to look at and its story about child labor and the stereotypic underdog is heartwarming, yet its controls are sloppy, cut scenes are far too long and for 1200 MSP it might be a little bit pricey for its short length. Nevertheless, it's worth a look for those who love riddles and that 20ies' charm.

You can buy this title without any concerns. Very well done and entertaining!

In terms of character creations, Obsidian managed to implement many improvements which totally make sense. Technically speaking, it's another Fallout like you know it: Questionable textures, some weird animations, a great story and so much to explore.

Light meets shadow, but the good points outweigh the flaws by far. It's not the ultimate real driving simulator it claims to be, but it's probably the best racing game out on the market.

Darksiders 2 has a larger world, a fantastic loot system, weapons, which are able to level up, and an interesting story and great fights. If you can handle with obsolete graphics and some other little problems, Darksiders 2 is definitely worth looking at.

The Binding of Isaac looks like an old school game like the original Zeldas, but with a dark scenario and dark humor. It has the typical difficulty of a McMillen game, which is not found anywhere else these days. This game will motivate you to try and try again in such a simple way – just brilliant. If you like the style and the old school gameplay of The Binding of Isaac, you'll have a lot of fun with it.

FIFA 14 takes yet another step towards being an even better football simulation than its predecessor. Small but considerate improvements like Precision Movement and advanced physics secure the sports game throne for FIFA for another year.

It's hard to describe what it is that makes Bulletstorm that special. Featuring a great storyline, 15 hours of gameplay, cool optics and a pretty rough sense of humor, even non-shooter players could be convinced by this one. Unfortunately, the handling deserves better than the status quo, especially when you're in a hurry.

Call it Sudoku Reloaded, in the third dimension, or whatever you want: Word is that Picross 3D is awesome and addictive. You'll overlook the unspectacular presentation, and the amount of 350 puzzles is amazing.

Some full price title can’t keep up with the multiplayer fun and the good looking graphic. Battlefield veterans don’t come around anyway therefore. Battlefield 1943 is a completely clear purchase recommendation for each action fan.

We all waited for years and now Pit is finally back. The long wait was worth it, because the comeback is pretty awesome. The game is bigger then most console games and offers AR card support, multiplayer modes, combinable weapons, epic boss fights and many more. It's not just a game, it's the rebirth of the legend.

Still one of the best platformers of the last years – even though there is not a lot of new stuff to be found in the 3DS-version.

Not only an add-on! This is better than many of the main games! Next to the single player, you also get a great multiplayer mode. You just cannot do wrong if you buy this game!

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is innovative, features unique gameplay and is always between cheerful, funny and challenging at times. It's sometimes a bit limited and linear, but for one go, it's great.

Maybe it is not the most beautiful game, but it holds what it promises. A solid game you can take a closer look at.

The new game mechanics bring a new level of depth to fighting games. With the addition of two player tag battles and scramble mode, fighting game fans of all skill levels will be able to find ways to have fun with this new fighting game installment.

For sure the developers invested a lot of time in this game, but the result is more average.

Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture managed to port the old school genre of side-scrolling shooters into the modern age of videogames. Sine Mora is definitely worth downloading, not just for genre fans, but also gamers new to it.

An enhanced Port with merits, especially Nintendo Fans should enjoy.

With Need for Speed: Shift you will get pure racing action with an incredible kind of feeling. You can’t imagine it!

Final Fantasy XIII is very entertaining even if the borders between the different genres aren’t visible anymore. Not just great graphics, the simple controls and the interesting story motivate me every time to play another hour.

FIFA 11 has taken a step forward to a better football simulation on PC: It comes up with better graphics, better gameplay, and again with a lot of licenses from different players and football clubs.

Action-Role-Playing-Shooter…nuff said!

Terraria is one of the best sandbox games. Terraria has some Minecraft spirit, however the focus of the game is on fighting and crafting, so it involves more action. The best way to enjoy Terraria is to play it with a couple of friends on your own server.

Magic: Duels of Planeswalker 2014 is not a bad game, but it isn't the full Magic-experience either. Real innovations are missing and even the new Sealed-mode is a nice idea, but not very well implemented.

In one way Just Cause 2 really makes me happy. A huge world full of cities, villages and military bases the player is allowed to discover. But on the other side the weak story doesn’t really animate me to play it till the end.

Darksiders can only be recommended, because it's one of the best hack'n'slay games on the PC. Period.

NHL has reached its peak with number 13. Realistic physics, brilliant ice control, a lot of scoring options, tougher opponents and goalkeepers and many different game modes. NHL 13 also has its negative sides. EA could have put new legends in the Be a Legend mode or a bit more balanced NHL moments in the game. There's no way that there are 26 challenges and certain teams are not in this mode. But with its True Skating Performance and its whole atmosphere NHL 13, and maybe NBA 2K13, are going to be my sports games of the year.

Resistance 3 honors its predecessors with a great symbiosis of tough action and thrilling story.

Except for some issues regarding the level design and the AI, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is exactly what you're looking for, if you're into the legacy and the genre.

Stunning graphics, a well-told story, and now a big expansion in terms of gameplay and atmosphere: Age of Conan now looks like it should have looked two years ago when it was originally released. It‘s worth a look, this game is very rewarding.

The story has epic dimensions, but it doesn’t really have an effect on the gameplay, because you mostly have to do the same things. In my opinion, it is an entertaining adventure for adults, but nothing more.

More than just a port, Alan Wake for PC is a must-have.

Sucker Punch hasn't taken any risk with inFamous 2. They have assembled all the positive gameplay elements and mixed them up with a new setting and some fresh gameplay elements.

The platform spectacle with the nameless hero is so expertly staged that it is very hard to get away from it.

Based on the great idea of swapping character-parts and -skills you can have a lot of fun with the new Skylanders. Provided you are willing to spend a lot of money for the new creatures. But if you do, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful and entertaining game for the whole family.

Graphics are brilliant, and the new Koop – mode offers a fantastic chance, to accomplish difficult missions together. The single player-campaign isn’t able to satisfy the gamer’s needs.
