If you're looking for classic FPS action it doesn't get better than Perfect Dark. This game is already bursting with content and the addition of new graphics, controls and online play make it better than ever before.

Fans of both old school shooters and 2D beat-em-ups will fall in love with the merging of these two genre.

A year after releasing Resident Evil 5, Capcom is back with the exciting conclusion to the story.

Single-player is a solid experience worth buying. But multiplayer is the prom queen here, and a serious Modern Warfare rival. With Infinity Ward in flux, Battlefield could emerge as the premiere military shooter in the next few years.

MLB 2K10 is a good game that feels for the most part like you're playing baseball. There is a lot of depth, and some great new features. While not as buggy as 2K9, some of the problems still exist, which keeps this game from being great.

MLB 10: The Show is a well made game. I recommend this title if you love baseball; everyone else can find something different to play. The initial difficulty can be frustrating but a complex and rewarding game can be found just beneath the surface.

A surprisingly middle-of-the-road RTS excursion, Supreme Commander 2 fails to live up to the expectations set forth by its larger-than-life predecessor.

Everybody can breathe a sigh of relief, because Heavy Rain was definitely worth the long wait. This is an intriguing murder mystery that will have you guessing all the way to the end. Best of all, the narrative is one of the strongest I've seen in years.

The great graphics and expressive characters aren't enough to make this two year old port worth $20!

Although Last Rebellion feels dated with its still images in place of animations and abysmal voice and dialogue direction, the intriguing storyline and challenging battles make for a fun experience. This is a definite rent-it situation.

If you enjoyed Borderlands in its fullest and were hoping there was a way to extend the game-time without necessarily plunging into a second playthrough or a new character, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is just that continuation you were looking for.

It misses the full potential but turns out being enjoyable. Check it out if you're a fan of the genre. If you can overlook poor dialogue and mediocre voice acting, there is a fun adventure game to be found.

Risen is by no means a perfect port, or the best western style RPG on the Xbox 360. Despite its flaws I had fun with this game.

A sequel that surpasses the original. The folks at 2K have delivered a game with more emotional and intellectual punch than the original game although you might feel a bit dirty for enjoying the game so much.

It's a mixture of old school mechanics and modern presentation--a combination that makes it the perfect starting point for the roguelike genre and a very enjoyable dungeon-crawling RPG in its own right.

Dante’s Inferno is an incredibly fun game with exciting and fast-paced gameplay. However, with a dull storyline experience, Visceral gives me no choice but to call the overall experience of the game mediocre. Of course, if you’re looking strictly for the fun of the gameplay, you can be assured that they’ve delivered on that end.

Square Enix really outdid themselves with Star Ocean: The Last Hope International. This is a huge, gorgeous adventure with a memorable storyline and plenty of cool twists.

While not completely innovative, Max & the Magic Marker offers a cute and fresh, albeit brief, platformer for those young at heart.

Star Trek Online is far from perfect, but based on it’s placement fills a niche for sci-fi gamers between EVE Online and Star Wars Galaxies.

Even its small group of levels and no multiplayer support, Dracula is a fun PSP that is well worth downloading!

MAG tries and does some things well. 256 player battles still seem too chaotic and the game relies heavily on having a good team which is hard when it's a public style offering.

There's very little to love in Vancouver 2010, Sega's half-assed attempt to make a must-own game out of the 2010 Winter Olympics. This dud features confusing controls, lackluster events and only a couple of hours of gameplay.

I can only recommend this title to the most patience of the hardcore and even then only after there has been a patch to fix lingering technical issues.

Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath, and Beyond is a fun little romp from start to finish. If you like the classic 2-dimensional side scrolling shooters of old, this game will be right up your alley.

If you’re looking for more than fun as your reward for completing each challenge, you’re out of luck. Meager loot, one skill point per challenge (adding up to a very unimpressive 2 possible skill points), and a bank account is all you’ll get.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers is full of fantastic ideas, unfortunately it's marred by repetitive gameplay, questionable gameplay decisions, terrible voice acting and unlikeable characters.

This is a huge step backwards for not only Guitar Hero, but the music genre in general!

Rush is a great start to the Rubik's Puzzle Galaxy series. It culls the best elements from last year's Rubik's World games and delivers them in a tighter package with a lot more core content.

The Saboteur is a fun, if not fairly short game with a solid storyline in tandem with its WWII theme.

Tales of Monkey Island is an engaging and well written story that is a fun game to boot. Chapter Five struggles a little but ultimately brings the story to a fitting close.

There's a lot to like in MX vs ATV Reflex, particularly in the realm of controlling the rider. Still, while there is notable improvement over previous versions in some areas, there's nothing truly revolutionary in Reflex.

Might and Magic Clash of Heroes is one of the best DS games of 2009

Solid but not great, the first DLC pack is best when it the content is original. The final boss fight in the game makes the pack worth $10.

This is first person shooting distilled to its purest and most action-packed form. Updated graphics, fun co-op, and a budget price tag join together to put this on any shooter fan's wish list.

This is an addictive action/puzzle game that requires skill, patience and maybe even a little luck. It provides hours of fun for next to nothing and is easily the best PSP game I've played in months!

The classic casual title comes to the PS3, but seems out of its element in the console world.

A solid standalone expansion to one of my favorite time-sinks, Armored Princess has enough new goodies and little bits of polish to make for quite an enjoyable time.

It's easy to look at Echoes and see a criminally short game that could have been something even better, but at $2.99 this proves to be a fun diversion

While the skateboard controller seems to feel well built, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. You'll be spending more time fighting with the controller than trying to have fun with the game. Even then, the game's just not that enjoyable. Maybe next time Tony.

Left 4 Dead 2 took a great first-person shooter experience and added fresh new gameplay modes, loads of murdering and surviving accessories from melee weapons to adrenaline shots, all of which continues to satiate my desires for an FPS game that I can happily and easily spend a copious amount of hours on.

Regardless of whether you're new to the franchise or a seasoned veteran, LittleBigPlanet is one of the best games on the Sony PSP.

If you’ve Scene It? once, you’ve Scene It? all. Bright Lights, Big Screen is an unnecessary addition to the bloated series.

For Left 4 Dead fans, there's more zombie killing fun in this one and it does feel different from the first game. The many additions really help expand the game and almost makes the first game seem like a beta.

Overall, I found Modern Warfare 2 to be fun but it's starting to lose the appeal it had for me after the fourth time around with Infinity Ward. The campaign is really short and the story's pretty weak. Also, there will be parts that offend people but at least you can skip the "one" mission. Multiplayer can be fun and addicting if you don't get frustrated easily.

Even with some questionable controls and outdated graphics, Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble feels like the River City Ransom sequel I've been waiting for.

Excitebike: World Rally is a really good example of how to take a classic, simple game and bring it into the modern era.

Creature Defense mixes up the tried and true tower defense formula by adding cards. For the most part it works, but if you're not already a fan of this style of game you will likely not be won over by this mash-up.

The tracks become monotonous, and once the novelty of the LEGO characters wears off you’ll be wishing you bought a different Rock Band title.

Although plagued by balance and control issues, COP the Recruit is ambitious in its depth and groundbreaking in its technology. The easily frustrated might want to skip this game, but for experienced gamers looking for a challenge, COP offers a lengthy experience and hardcore difficulty.

Band Hero isn't much different from Guitar Hero 5, but it does have a track list that will appeal to a slightly younger age group.

Band Hero loosens the reins on the game play to make the game more crowd friendly. The anything goes style carries over into the song list where everyone you know is bound to find at least one song they have heard and/or like.

While Band Hero isn't perfect, it does offer more than just painful, hand-cramping guitar mechanics. This time around you can drum and sing, two modes that prove to be a lot of fun on the go.

Nitro is age appropriate for the pre-teen Wii player, but will not hold the attention of the older folks in the house. The graphics are fun and attractive but won't be mistaken for the nearly photo realistic graphics available on the higher-end consoles.

Need for Speed Nitro has a lot of solid content, good production values and a large quantity of customization for a DS game.

This is a worthy addition to the Tales of Monkey Island series. It's one that all adventure fans should own and everyone else should at least try.

The Ballad of Gay Tony is not only an over-the-top action game with tons of great missions, it's also the perfect way to conclude the Grand Theft Auto IV storyline.

An interesting first game in the musical genre that tries something a little different. It's actually a nice little game that can be fun to play.

The gameplay is unique and engaging for those interested in it, if marred by some control issues. There's a lot of content and personality here and a well built game, but guitar heroes probably won't fall into the groove right away.

Seriously this is the best racing game of the current console generation.

This game has everything, fast action, time travel, a great sense of humor and some of the best visuals of any platformer game. A Crack in Time is easily one of the best PlayStation 3 games of the year!

A solid and promising free-to-play multiplayer RTS that seems to have been released a bit too early. Even so, there's a lot of fun in the content that is available.

Fairytale Fights has one of the very best set-ups of any game this year, yet it's marred by repetitive gameplay, annoying combat, levels that go on forever and bosses that stand out for all the wrong reasons.

A fantastic action RPG for a bargain price. This is exactly what indie titles should be.

Atelier Annie is possibly the most fun and accessible entry of the Atelier titles released in the West. The RPG combat isn’t memorable, but the simulation aspects that make up most of the gameplay will keep you coming back for longer than you expect.

What were they thinking? The lameness of this game is a slap in the face to every NERF aficionado ever born and, quite frankly, those still in the womb.

Comprised of several well loved classic games, including the historic Operation, Hasbro Family Game Night 2 should be a lot better than it is. Other than Connect 4x4, which holds up relatively well, the board games just don’t convert well to the Wii.

A decidedly average game with missed potential. It's worth trying out but not at full price.

Out of the Park Baseball 11 made many improvements to last year's already impressive simulation. With so many refinements that make it a better experience, it's a no-brainer for those looking for a baseball simulation game.

If you're not already a fan of the series you won't be won over by this clunky installment. With an enhanced sequel coming out later this year, there's no reason to fuss with this eight year old PS2 game!

Borderlands is a ton of fun, and its massive arsenal of weapons makes it highly replayable.

A good-looking, surprisingly deep, charming city-builder. Lots of good ideas that make intuitive sense. More than worth the price of admission.

A few hiccups keeps this title from being perfect but SmackDown Vs. Raw 2010 is everything a fan could want in a wrestling game and more.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars shines bright on Sony's handheld, bringing everything that made the original so much fun with it.

Lips: Number One Hits is a more polished version of the first game with some Avatar support. It's too bad you have to do a disc swap if you want to sing the songs from the first game. A nice little easy karaoke game for those what enjoy singing with easy accessibility for all skill levels.

Space Invaders Extreme 2 keeps the same addictive elements that made the first game so good and adds a few new features, but it's more of an incremental improvement.

With its unique art style and creative puzzles, there's a lot to like about Axel & Pixel. Unfortunately it's marred by a short run time and puzzles that can be easily solved without using any tips.

Even with its non-stop references to heavy metal and specialized soundtrack, Brutal Legend comes off feeling like one of Tim Schafer's most accessible game. The real-time strategy aspects are carefully explained and never feel too daunting for the average console gamer. What's more, the game's humor and over-the-top story will make you want to see the game through to the end.

The level of polish is near perfect.

Attempting to bring in new RPG gamers by having lower difficulty isn't enough to save A Witch's Tale from a plodding story, and slow game play.
