  1. Facing non-stop attacks for virtually the entire length of the chapter, players will not be able to breathe easy until the credits roll. Providing truly intense action, Desperate Escape is absolutely worth the price of admission alone, while the additional 100 achievement points and two characters for Mercenaries Reunion are merely the icing on the cake.
  2. It’s quite short and the plot is almost nonexistent, but in terms of pure action, Desperate Escape often outshines its own parent.
  3. While it lacks the unique style and feel of Lost in Nightmares, Desperate Escape is a good expansion in its own right. It's comparable in length to the last addition, clocking in at around an hour to complete on your first run through, and you'll get a few replays out of it. If you're looking for one more sample of Resident Evil 5, this is one escape you should definitely take.

Desperate Escape will likely please the action-oriented fans of the series, but those that prefer the refreshing take Lost in Nightmares delivered, should probably stay away.
  5. A year after releasing Resident Evil 5, Capcom is back with the exciting conclusion to the story.
  6. A concentrated dose of RE5's action-based gameplay, DE is quite enjoyable for the short time players will spend with it. Puzzle-seekers, walk the other way; new-era RE action gamers, you will not regret giving it a whirl.
  7. While not nearly as atmospheric as Lost in Nightmares, Desperate Escape is a very tense but short trip that's worthy of a playthrough for Resident Evil 5 veterans and those looking for an extra challenge that does not stray from the original campaign.

This second DLC for RE 5 features Jill Valentine and Joss Stone. It takes place after Jill is rescued from mind control by Chris Redfield. This second DLC for RE 5 features Jill Valentine and Joss Stone. It takes place after Jill is rescued from mind control by Chris Redfield. Unlike "Lost in Nightmares", this brief chapter emphasizes fast-paced action. You must get from Point A to Point Z while defending yourself from an onslaught of attackers. If you liked the shooting aspect of the base game than you'll like this. "Desperate Escape" is quite challenging since the enemies are relentless. The DLC also includes extra characters for the Mercenaries mode. Overall, I would rate this with a 7.6 out of 10. Expand
