If you just want more picross-style puzzles, then it’ll do the trick. But if you want ones with any kind of personality, you need to know going in that that’s not what you’re getting here.

Its especially exceptional considering it's the first release from the developers at Vigil, and shows a certain level of polish that a lot of new IP's released last year was definitely lacking.

The Surge’s biggest weakness comes from some pacing problems and a weak late game story. The beginning of The Surge is interesting and grabs your attention, but as you get closer to the end, those hooks start to lose their hold. It begins to feel convoluted just for the sake of being convoluted and feels like they lost direction a bit by the end, but it is never bad. The Surge feels like a learning experience and one that I hope Deck13 takes to heart and expands on with whatever their next title ends up being. I have enjoyed my time with this game and can honestly say that I am looking forward to whatever they release next.

It may try to cover it up with cute animals taken out of the original Sonic and an aesthetic that's pleasantly cute, but deep down, this is a game that wants to make you cry — and one that, more often than not, will succeed in doing that.

All in all, I think Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is exactly what the series needed, which is a step back in right direction after the dismal release of Unity.

It may not seem worth the long wait, but in the end, Shenmue III does more right than wrong and it belongs in your game collection.

If you’re looking for inventiveness, Toggles has that in spades – as you’d expect from a game that’s influenced by Katamari. There are definitely worse issues to have than giving players too much freedom, so if that’s the biggest complaint to be leveled here, it means that Togges might just be worth checking out.

It's a fun, fast-paced game with enough eye candy to entertain the undead-killing gunslinger that lives deep inside all of us.

All in all, the game feels like it is very polished, and looks nice, with no visual or technical bugs or glitches in the gameplay and very few moments where the framerate dipped below 60. The game supports a gamepad on PC and seems like that is the way it is intended to be played since the overlay has pictures of gamepad buttons emblazoned on it. If you’re someone who is into anime JRPG games, then this is most likely right up your alley. If not, give it a look and maybe you’ll find something new you didn’t know you liked. Do be aware though that the game is entirely voiced in Japanese and has English subtitles.

If you don't want to spend every waking hour of the next few months grinding and grinding and grinding, then you may want to look into something less demanding. If, however, you're already a fan of the series, then you'll soon find Disgaea 4 has everything you've come to know and love of Disgaea: it's long, it's deep, and it's funny. If that's you (and I have to admit, it's certainly not me), then grab it now, and empty your calendar for the foreseeable future.

I’d certainly recommend checking this out if you’re curious to see the series roots, but I’d also say this isn’t the best entry in the Atelier games available on the Switch or other platforms. It certainly has some charm to it, and the gameplay loop is easy yet satisfying, but don’t expect an RPG on par with more recent Atelier releases. Still, I enjoyed my time playing Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg, and I bet you will too.

This is still the perfect idea for those who wished that they had these games in their homes, but didn't want to pay the ridiculous price for the cabinets.

No More Heroes 3 is a welcomed good time for fans of the series and may be a little hard to get into for new fans. Its crude humor remains the same (taking a dump activates your save files), but there is something very punk rock about this game that Suda51 has given us here. If you can look past its clunky visuals and repetitive gameplay, you’re in for a treat. This an excellent send-off for Travis Touchdown and his friends.

So while Limbo isn't quite the mind-blowing experience others have made it out to be, I think its unique visual style is certainly worth checking out.

What will keep you playing isn't the gameplay, or even the story, exactly, but just wanting to figure out what the hell is going on. Let it take you with it and you won't be sorry.

If you liked the movie, then you will find all of your favorite references throughout both tables. If you’re like me, and never actually saw the latest Star Wars films, then you have some quality pinball action you can have fun with. This pack is a solid edition to the Pinball FX3 app!

If you always wanted to get your feet wet with a sim, either flight or combat, "AeroWings 2" should be one of your first choices.

I enjoyed revisiting Front Mission, and I think the base game is neat enough to warrant a look for any RPG fan out there that hasn’t had the opportunity to play one of these games yet. Both campaigns are pretty sizable, it took me a bit to finish the initial OCU campaign, and then there’s the tougher UCS campaign to check out that I haven’t finished, so you’ll certainly get a number of hours out of the game if you decide to dive in. I’d suggest giving Front Missions 1st: Remake a shot, maybe more so if you’ve never played the game before, just keep in mind that it’s a prettier port of a classic strategy RPG that may not have all the bells and whistles you’re used to with more modern titles.

Ignore Monochroma's provenance and forget about its place in a broader context, and just focus on what's here — and on that count, it delivers.

A fun little action title that's inexpensive (making it an easy impulsive purchase), and incredibly addictive at the same time, which are two qualities that do not go hand-in-hand very often.

The mission structure is thoughtful, the character skill/trait development is fantastic, and the tactical combat is challenging.

This entry in the Two Point series definitely represents a slight turn towards being (slightly) more serious and (slightly) more demanding – and while that may not be the worst thing in the world, it’s definitely not what I look to the series for, personally.

It’s clear that Ghoulboy is going for Castlevania/Ghosts ‘n Goblins clone. And, to its credit, it kind of succeeds on that front. But if you want a game that goes beyond imitating the classics, then you won’t find that here.

Love him or hate him, Deadpool is here, and his video game debut is almost exactly what fans were expecting.

However fun Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD may be to play — and again, it is quite good on that front — it's a lot less enjoyable to look at.

Definitely worth picking up for the folks that already know they like these games, and if you have any worries about how the Move will control a title like this, I think this game will put those worries to rest.

It’s not as polished as a Telltale game but the story is unique and I’m intrigued to see where it will go in episode 2.

A step in the right direction for Harmonix.
