I was drawn to play Europa Universalis III because of the sheer amount of options that it offers. Not many games allow you to control an empire for more than 300 years and allow you to do it any way you see fit.

Song of the Ocean is by far the best game in The Legend of Heroes trilogy despite the fact that this one plays it safe by adding every RPG cliché in the book. Yet even without an ounce of originality or a particularly moving story, this one outdoes the first two chapters in almost every way.

Hotel Dusk is one of those games that should be used as Exhibit A in the discussion of games legitimacy as a storytelling medium, or even as art. A brilliant art and graphical style, innovative use of the DS’s features, and one of the best noir stories to be told recently in any medium add up to a must-play.
