Odin Sphere is the ultimate non-RPG. You will be immersed. You will be awestruck. You will be inspired to play through every stage again and again.

At World's End could have been a better game, but the repetition in battle, lack of character monologue, and its “been there, done that” gaming approach really hold this game back from being something special.

Another licensed movie game of lackluster quality and play-value. Although being true to the feel of the films, the gameplay is dreary and the control scheme is unrefined.

The game can be addictive and enjoyable, but when you get down to the last two minutes of a tight game and are suddenly booted to your Windows desktop, or the lag is so bad that you are rendered immobile or things are happening that have no base in real physics or logic (like sliding across the court to a position the game determines you are at regardless on how often you try to move to get involved with the game), then frustration will mount.

There are no words that can perfectly convey what this game will do to you. It initially seems basic, short, and maybe a little childish. But if you stay long enough to learn how to harvest crops (which takes no more than 10 minutes), you’ll be around for another 10 hours and beyond.

The game follows the platforming genre precisely and doesn’t stray too far from it, which is not necessarily a bad thing, especially since this game is aimed for younger players. What is really annoying about this game is the fixed camera; it really becomes a hindrance during certain parts of the game, especially during combat.

The saving grace of this game is Shrek and the other characters. They are portrayed charmingly and just like in the movies. The mini-games are also fun. However, the game as a whole isn’t anything above average and would probably receive a lesser rating without the presence of Shrek and company.
