In virtual reality, the diorama concept works amazingly well - and one wonders why this perspective isn't used in many more VR games.- GAMES.CH

System Shock is a masterful remake of an absolute classic. While much of the old essence is left largely unchanged, such as the intricate level design and the chilling atmosphere, the game has been enhanced subtly to highlight its strengths and adapt to a modern audience. System Shock shows that old and new can sometimes go hand in hand and blend together to a timeless masterpiece.- GAMES.CH

Battlefield 6 marks a true return to form for the series. Battlefield Studios successfully blends classic large-scale warfare with modern refinements, delivering intense battles, impressive visuals, and a satisfying sense of chaos. While the campaign is short and the weapon balance still needs fine-tuning, the foundation for a lasting comeback is solid. Not flawless, but definitely the "Battlefield"-experience fans have been waiting for.- GAMES.CH

Split Fiction absolutely lives up to the high expectations. Hazelight Studios is further refining the co-op formula from A Way Out and It Takes Two. The result is an almost flawless split-screen hit.- GAMES.CH

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is nothing less than one of the best Lego games so far. The game remains all the series' strengths concerning style, lovingly presentation and family-friendly slapstick humor and makes well use of the prestigious license with a great mixture somewhere between tribute and parody.- GAMES.CH

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is not only the biggest game in the series to date, but also a real narrative highlight. Admittedly, it takes a comparatively long time for the story to really get going. But then the developers bombard us with twists and turns that surprise and emotionally thrill. The development studio does not reinvent the basic gameplay concepts, but the bottom line is that Infinite Wealth offers enough innovations and improvements that all make sense and fit nicely. However, the fact that the New Game Plus mode is not included in every version is indeed a disappointment.- GAMES.CH

Elden Ring Nightreign sets itself apart from the award-winning main game with its fast pace and co-op focus. While several issues still need to be addressed, if you crave challenging co-op action, you should definitely join the Nightfarers in their fight against the Nightlords.- GAMES.CH

Be it the masterful design of the semi-open game world divided into 13 dye biomes, the continuous introduction of new hero abilities, the thrilling duels with a huge range of enemy types, the challenging puzzles and boss fights, the scope, which is more extensive than many others genre representatives or the variety of accessibility functions - Ubisoft Montpellier undoubtedly delivers one of its best games in recent years! There are minor points of criticism, but in our opinion they are primarily limited to difficulty peaks in some boss fights and the fact that the story doesn't quite as emotionally engage us as that of Hollow Knight or Ori and the Blind Forest, for example.- GAMES.CH

An excellent port of an already very good game makes for a must-buy for any fans of the character action genre. While the PC Version doesn’t meaningfully alter the experience, the upgraded framerate and stunning visuals make this an easy recommendation for anyone who missed the game coming to Playstation 5 last year.- GAMES.CH

Echoes of Wisdom is a great new dye entry in the series that combines a very classical approach with creative gameplay where (generally) much more than one way leads to a solution. You will never ask yourself why Nintendo decided to give Zelda the main role. After playing this, you will ask why she did not get her chance earlier. A must-buy for series' fans.- GAMES.CH

Monster Stories 3: Twisted Reflection doesn't reinvent the wheel, but with improved gameplay, early access to large monsters, and numerous other detailed enhancements, it still surpasses its neat predecessor. Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival is a fantastic rhythm game that is now available on all platforms. It offers a nice selection of songs in different genres, feels great when played and is very colorful and weird. Using a virtual city as a menu isn’t great and not being able to just play and get all the experience points to level up feels bad. But it’s still a fantastic title that looks and sounds amazing.- GAMES.CH

Chorus may just be the surprise hit of 2021 for anyone who loves space combat and a surprisingly deep and interesting sci-fi story with cosmic horror elements. Thanks to slick movement and a variety of fun powers, combat never gets old and remains challenging through the surprisingly long and varied campaign. This already great package is rounded off with great visuals and sound design as well as a solid technical performance throughout the game. The fast-paced combat may scare some less experienced players off, but for anyone who enjoys blowing up enemy ships at break-neck speeds, this is a very easy recommendation.- GAMES.CH

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is SEGA’s ambitious new entry in the kart-racing genre, combining familiar mechanics with deep vehicle customization and a wide variety of race modes. While drifting requires more skill than in competitors and gadget management has some limitations, the game impresses with its content, creativity, and fast-paced action. Overall, it stands as a strong contender for the genre’s top spot, offering both fun and challenge for racing fans.- GAMES.CH

EA Sports FC 26 isn’t a revolution, but it’s a noticeable step forward. The split between “Authentic” and “Competitive” gameplay adds welcome variety, the AI feels smarter, and the presentation is more immersive. However, career mode still lacks depth, balancing issues remain, and Ultimate Team continues to lean heavily on microtransactions.- GAMES.CH

With the Definitive Edition on Switch Xenoblade Chronicles X remains a great Science-Fantasy RPG with a varied and gigantic open world. The gorgeous landscapes and a fantastic soundtrack provide a strong dye atmosphere that just gets torpedoed by the silent main character. Even if the expansions are structured similarly every year, Necrom stands out with its great story and a very special environment. In addition, the new arcanist is quite action-packed and, with the crux-mechanic, also slightly more complex to play than the previous classes.- GAMES.CH

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is not only a logical continuation of the original, but even surpasses the first part in numerous respects. Minor inconsistencies like the frequent loading interruptions, sometimes unfavorable camera perspectives and the fact that many important characters are only partially voiced, only spoil the fun insignificantly. What remains is a gem for lovers of the tactical genre - and anyone who wants to become one.- GAMES.CH

Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 are rightfully considered among the best 3D platformers of all time. This remains true in the Switch remakes. While the visual enhancements could certainly have been improved considerably, the extremely creative, varied gameplay beats everything else. Herdling is fantastic. It will not be an emotional journey through wonderful environments for everyone but if you can lose yourself in the world and your job to guide these creatures you are in for a treat. The Calicorns are lovely and you will start to care for them. This is all aided by a great soundtrack by composer Joel Schoch and a great look.- GAMES.CH

Unicorn Overlord is a real tactical role-playing heavyweight with a variety of gameplay mechanics that intertwine very thoughtfully. The countless 'who should I let live and who not' decisions and the characters associated with them make the campaign very attractive and increase the replay value considerably. Other strengths include the early freedom when exploring the game world and the successful German on-screen texts. The twist-filled story also serves its purpose, although Vanillaware often follows familiar narrative paths here.- GAMES.CH

Whether it’s the great scenario design packed with routes and opportunities, the well written story missions, the many funny surprises, the attractive presentation or the motivating reward system - Hitman 3 combines familiar strengths with some new ideas like the shortcut system and the sadly PlayStation exclusive VR mode. Still, Hitman 3 is not free from criticism. This mainly concerns AI quirks, smaller logical errors and missing PlayStation Move controls in VR.- GAMES.CH

If you look at Fitness Boxing 3 as a regular game, it is too less demanding especially concerning precision. But the game wants to be an interactive fitness coach and does pretty well as this. If you want to beat your inner demon for making sports, Fitness Boxing is a great and highly motivating choice for Switch owners. [Good]- GAMES.CH
