Of course Alan Wake Remastered does not outbid the visuals of the current gen references, but Remedy does a great job bringing the graphics into the year 2021. Everything looks much better, sharper and more detailed, without distorting the special and intense atmosphere of the 360 original. Beside that, Alan Wake remains a great mixture of horror story and action with tactical light use and a huge dose of kaboom. If you don't know Alan Wake yet, you need to play the Remastered right now. If you are a fan of the original, the remastered version is a great opportunity to revisit Bright Falls.- GAMES.CH

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 sets a new standards not only for games set in the 41st Millennia, but also for horde based shooters. The innovative combat system that cleverly builds upon the foundation of the 13 years old predecessor shows incredible depth when mixing different weapon styles. Together with an entertaining, albeit narratively shallow campaign and a wealth of customization for co-op players, this game is every Warhammer 40k fans dream come true.- GAMES.CH

While the gameplay concept may sound boring on paper, the laid-back nature of the game along with the charming presentation and all the content updates that have been added over the years make sure that now is as good a time as any to try out Stardew Valley+ on Apple Arcade.- GAMES.CH

The third game delivers exactly what fans were hoping for and adds some new ideas on top. But in essence, this is another engrossing cat-venture with all the looting, puns and pawsome fights in place as one has come to expect from the series.- GAMES.CH

When playing Total War: Pharaoh, time simply goes by easily. Creative Assembly delivers another outstanding strategy-game, that connects all its aspects well and motivates with constant progression. Despite some minor flaws in the user-guidance-department, Total War: Pharaoh is a must-have-game for every RTS-fan.- GAMES.CH

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake takes the presentation and soundtrack of a real classic to a contemporary level and also optimizes controls and enemy behavior. The 2-player co-op mode is a nice addition which, strictly speaking, already existed in the 2019 Switch version. If you already know the latter or have already played through the original, you are paying primarily for a nice technology upgrade. However, if you never experienced the original, the remake is undoubtedly your best option at the moment.- GAMES.CH

Surprising twists and turns, a more serious story and the picturesque graphics entice Tales of Arise with many hours of JRPG fun in a slightly lifeless and linear world.- GAMES.CH

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is still a great mixture of RPG and platformer with fine papercraft graphics and humorous story. But in terms of content, the visually advanced Switch version delivers nothing new for dye connoisseurs of the GameCube original, which makes it less interesting for them as for players who experience the remastered version for the first time.- GAMES.CH

Even though it does not quite offer the detailed world and feature depth of the second game, the original Red Dead Redemption is still an amazing game that hooks you with its story and characters from the beginning and never lets up.- GAMES.CH

Even after its fantastic predecessor Monster Hunter Rise is far away from disappointing. The Palamute feature proves itself as an enrichment, making things faster and more comfortable. The wirebug enhances the variety of brute monster combat and exploration. There is just one weakness preventing the game from reaching outstanding Monster Hunter World on eye level: Overall, it's a little bit too easy for experienced gamers, especially related to the dual buddy system.- GAMES.CH

Dragon Age – The Veilguard isn't without its flaws, but it shows Bioware's qualities after titles like Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem. The new "Dragon Age" may be less tactical, but delivers high-impacts battles that still preserve enough RPG-elements to be intensive and deep enough. With tons of choices and consequences to make, player are going to be hooked to this adventures for weeks.- GAMES.CH

Whether you were around for Turtles in Time or not, if you have any affection for those four pizza lovers or the beat-em-up genre, you owe it to yourself to play Shredder’s Revenge. It strikes a great balance between classic simplicity and modern gameplay. A glorious return to form, and playable at no additional costs for Netflix subscribers.- GAMES.CH

Even more than 26 years after its original release, Dragon Quest III has lost none of its likeable adventure flair. Although the HD-2D Remake could have been more modernized here and there, this does not change the fact that this is the best version of the JRPG classic.- GAMES.CH

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a great combination of Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario in a unique floating island world. Although it is a solo game, the RPG succeeds in preventing an inimitable co-op-like experience with a high variety in combat, puzzles and skill based challenges. Just one of the best Switch games in 2024 and a must have for any Mario fan.- GAMES.CH

Bayonetta 3 hits the same notch like the first two parts, but establishes some new cool features, especially FOR the active use of the Demons. The overexciting action is still fun, but suffers a little bit from being too easy and not well balanced. Overall, Bayonetta 3 is a good Hack and Slay game, but also one that can't fully reach its predecessors.- GAMES.CH

Dying Light – The Beast delivers a focused, action-packed experience that blends brutal combat, dynamic zombies, and fluid parkour. The new Beast Mode adds thrilling moments, while the smaller, lively world of Castor Woods keeps exploration tense and rewarding. Despite minor issues with climbing and inventory, it’s a must-play for fans and a gripping entry point for newcomers.- GAMES.CH

The sadly last title of Mimimi Games sends the German developer out in a blaze of glory. While there’s nothing really new or unheard of, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is an absolute love letter to the tactical stealth genre and blends in excellent, varied gameplay with a charming, albeit superficial pirate story and a vibrant, colorful look. The gameplay style may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you enjoy the idea of planning the perfect heist with a band of undead pirates, this is your dream come true.- GAMES.CH

Lies of P blends a dark and gritty reimagining of the classic Pinocchio tale with FromSoftware inspired Action-RPG gameplay. While it stumbles in some smaller ways, the result is one of the most polished and consistently enjoyable dye Souls-Likes I have played. The combat with its many special maneuvers and nuances can be overwhelming to newcomers, but the atmosphere, the variety in building weapons and the unique take on a familiar story more than make up for the shortcomings.- GAMES.CH

Netflix continues to put out great games in the App Store. While Into the Breach is a port of an existing game, it is absolutely one worth playing with its addicting gameplay loop and tactical depth. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor benefits from some new skills and weapon styles, giving the combat and free running system more variety and depth. However, the sequel can not surpass its great predecessor. The reason for that is much about the partially lame story and not least because of some annoying performance issues.- GAMES.CH

If you look at Fitness Boxing 3 as a regular game, it is too less demanding especially concerning precision. But the game wants to be an interactive fitness coach and does pretty well as this. If you want to beat your inner demon for making sports, Fitness Boxing is a great and highly motivating choice for Switch owners. [Good]- GAMES.CH
