Europa Universalis V arrives with an impressive degree of polish and an already massive amount of content, even in its initial release. It feels like a culmination of Paradox's grand-strategy expertise—deep enough to lose yourself in for hundreds of hours. At the same time, its overall structure still leaves plenty of room for future expansion, making it easy to believe the game will only grow to even greater heights.

Four years later, Forza Horizon 5 remains an irreplaceable presence in the world of open-world racing games. Its debut on PS5 doesn't introduce much new content, but for players who have yet to experience the series, its sheer scale, polish, and sense of freedom are more than enough to deliver dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of enjoyment.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the perfect fighting game for everyone. Its features are easy to learn but difficult to master, and it's extreme fun whether playing with friends or alone. This game is so attractive that sometimes I even can't stop to have dinner in recent days. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate definitely demands that every gamer pay attention to it.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a rich and immersive experience. It offers an excellent adaptation of the original story, blending flashbacks and mini-games into the story smoothly. As the party grows, the game smartly avoids overcrowding by splitting the team into two, allowing each character to stand out. The ATB combat system is more action-focused with detailed improvements, new cooperative moves, and team members making fights more dynamic and fun. The only minor issues are the game's somewhat predictable open world and the awkward movement across the map. However, these don't spoil the overall great experience.

Even though Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is so long that it could take hundreds of hours to explore every part of the world, it still has a magic that allows people to settle down and take their time to listen to the story it tells. It can say that the excellent world design and complex but fun combat together shaped Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to be the most unique sort of experience in JRPG.

The upgrade of image performance, the improvement of settings, the adaptation of different platforms, and the excellent localization work. The next-generation version of "The Witcher 3" has made great progress after a series of updates. CDPR successfully turned this "former masterpiece" into a "present masterpiece", making it rejuvenate.

Although the gameplay of the original Demon's Souls isn't out of date in 2020, Bluepoint still did a perfect remake job. It's not only because the remake version looks like a next-gen blockbuster, but also because it plays more smoothly than before. If you love souls-like games, you really should buy PS5 as soon as possible to enjoy it.

The original Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are still magnificent these days, and the Nintendo Switch version succeeds in allowing you to re-experience them on the latest console, even in a portable way. If you are a fan of action games but haven't tried the original version before, don't hesitate to buy the bundle. They might be the greatest action games until the releases of God of War or Bayonetta 3.

Word Game combines many elements of puzzle, interactive fiction, and traditional JRPG into one work, bringing players an almost unprecedented novelty experience in the "simple" gaming screen with only Chinese characters. The game is highly sophisticated in rewriting Chinese characters, and the innovative use of the extensive and profound Chinese characters makes this journey to beat the dragon full of bright ideas at all times. The multiple inconceivable plot twists in the second half of the game are the icing on the cake, giving a different meaning to the whole story.

In Astro Bot, behind the hundreds of adorable little robots, I see a team of creators who truly love video games. They've harnessed the power of the PS5 and the exceptional haptic feedback of the DualSense controller to deliver an unforgettable platforming adventure. During this cosmic journey, I believe you'll rediscover, just like I did, the purest and most joyful moments of playing video games. Forget about those disappointing live-service games, in-game purchases, and microtransactions. We genuinely need more games like Astro Bot.

After 20 hours, it turns into an anime co-op game with MMORPG-like combat, unlike Monster Hunter. It has deep character growth and tough dungeons that take time to master, offering lots of fun.

Although almost all of Dead Space Remake's core features are from 14 years ago, the experience as a whole has not aged and is a true masterpiece. Not only does it manage to give players a near-perfect space survival horror experience, but the concept of the game design is also a classic.

Sid Meier's Civilization VII stands as a testament to the enduring strength of its franchise, much like a civilization that continues to thrive through the ages. Rather than resting on its laurels, it has evolved, constantly integrating innovation and the best elements from its predecessors to further solidify its place in gaming history. Its ability to embrace change while maintaining its core essence proves that this legendary series is still capable of standing the test of time. Civilization VII reaffirms that the series remains as relevant and compelling as ever.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is the combination of the best two installments of the Uncharted franchise. The powerful performance of PS5 pushes the game graphics to the next level, and the whole gaming process is nothing less than "amazing". However, almost none of the features of the game, including the adaptive trigger and the useful "shock" function, gives full play to the performance of the DualSense gamepad, and consequently the game controls cannot make the game more immersive, which is quite regrettable.

You can sense the real potential and exceptional quality of Manor Lords, but what's more common is the disappointment of the lack of content. It has a unique medieval atmosphere, a first-person perspective that can immerse players, and a distinctive 'backyard economy' system that combines the fun of building supply chains and managing labour in the production process. While warfare isn't at the heart of Manor Lords, it's done quite well and evokes a sense of familiarity with the Total War series. [Early Access Provisional Score = 75]

Soulmask is a game that integrates different gameplay elements within the survival crafting genre, offering a refreshing experience for someone like me who has grown tired of traditional survival crafting games. While it shares the slow and complex nature of the genre, the help of NPC tribesmen and customisable settings allow players to quickly immerse themselves in an addictive survival and exploration loop.
