In the end, The Last Resort feels less like a continuation of the series, and more like a time-waster: it's as if the developers wanted an episode to get a feel for the characters and style of the game, before diving back into the kind of game that Fright of the Bumblebees was.

Dark Sector is by no means a fresh, original game. It copies from a lot of source material, from games to movies to, well… everything.

All of this detail and complexity may be a dream for micromanagers, but all of the options do not seem to have much of a noticeable effect on the game.

It’s been too long since gamers have been able to enjoy the simple pleasures of a destruction derby and Eve of Destruction does a bang up job of making up for it.

It obviously tries to emulate Japanese style console RPGs, but it fails to deliver the story depth or puzzle challenge common to those games.

Whether you buy John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando to play online or offline, you can’t go wrong. If you liked the single player in World War Z (like I did), I think you’ll really like this game’s single player mode as well. The game has the same overall feel of World War Z for the most part. It gives you satisfaction through constant leveling up whether you are victorious or suffering defeat in each stage. Besides the faulty AI teammates, the main thing I found lacking is that the game has no other modes besides the campaign. With some extra DLC, this game could be just as good as World War Z. I’m really hoping that Toxic Commando gains a cult following like World War Z to where Saber will keep supporting it for a few more years. For a value price game, it has a lot to offer!

Those who stick with Prinny will definitely have fun, but I feel like those people are very much a minority within the gaming world.

Sea of Solitude certainly has a unique look and feel to it, but the novelty alone is not enough to carry the game. Your enjoyment of it will come down to how much you connect to Kay and her story because the gameplay alone will not be enough to compel you to play until the end. Even if you're just in it for the story, there are times when that story will also feel like a slog, especially when you face the monsters that represent Kay's endlessly bickering parents. The game is certainly an unusual experience, but it will probably leave you wishing that it was a more compelling one.

While it has a great atmosphere to match its title, Dark Devotion is brought down too much by its flaws.

By the end of the game, it's easy to tell that there was a lot of love put into this game for the overall concept and story alone. Even with all the flaws, it's still a game that I enjoy deep down, but I cannot deny all the annoyances that I had in trying to stay focused on completing it.

Overall, Exoprimal is quite a solid game even with its one mode. The amount of variety in the exosuits kept me coming back to the game often. The game has a lot of DLC, but all the exosuits can be unlocked by playing the game and leveling up each exosuit to a certain level. The game also has a good bit of free unlockables that you can get from collectible cards (basically a type of loot crate) in game. If Capcom could include a true campaign mode where you could play it solo or with a team of other players, I could see this franchise being just as good as Lost Planet 1 and 2 (mainly Lost Planet 2) in the long run. Definitely give this game a try if you like Capcom online shooters – I have a feeling you’ll like it if you’re willing to give around 5 hours for it to truly show you what it has to offer.

If you are keeping score, Burst Limit's fighting is shallow, the single player is ok if you have pre-existing knowledge of the show's plot but unintelligible if you don't and the online play is marred by disconnects and/or lag issues.

Skylanders Imaginators on the Switch gives you full Skylanders fun on the go, but there's something missing to the experience when you simply scan each toy and then put it up on the shelf. It's great to be able to create your own Skylander, though, and to watch the character evolve as you discover new parts and gear on your adventures. Overall, it's a solid platformer-action/RPG lite hybrid that makes for a nice early addition to your Switch library.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a revitalization of a game that remains vivid, addictive, and comfortably familiar. While it lacks the immersive touch of something like Skyrim, The Witcher, or Fable, the split-up areas of the Faelands are still fun to explore. However, the main draw remains the irresistible combat, which has now been refined to its full glory. As such, this remaster is the definitive way to experience one of the very few action-RPGs that realizes the “action” part so phenomenally.

Xenoverse 2 is a noticeable step up from the original and, even though its clich, is a Dragon Ball fan's dream title. Between this and Fusions, the Dragon Ball series is on a win streak and I can't wait to see what's next.

Overall, I had fun with Van Helsing and it provides a lot of gameplay for a title that can be had for under $20. If Diablo style games aren't your thing, you'll want to give it a pass, but otherwise it's worth adding to your game library.
