Just Cause 4 is a big, dumb and lovely action game that offers hours of great entertainment for those willing to look past its blemishes and technical faults.

Hitman 2 delivers a quality continuation of what the previous game started. The maps are bigger, more complex and offers tons of replayability. What the game lacks in story it makes up for with sheer joy in both exploration and dumb ways to take out your target. Technically the game doesn't deliver nearly as well, with the frame rate taking a hit when there is a lot going on on the screen.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a triumphant open world experience that has plenty of engaging content in terms of whacky activities and side quests, while all the same while delivering constant cinematic and believable human drama. This is so much more than «just a cowboy game» – it's a game whose many systems and rich universe feel quite unlike anything else.

Return of the Obra Dinn has emerged after four years in development, and it was truly worth the wait. Pope takes us on a magical journey that may seem plain at first glance, but there’s plenty of excitement and beauty to be found here - if you’re willing to dig a bit deeper.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is another massive achievement for CD Projekt Red. Based on the card game Gwent, the developer has managed to combine an astonishing open world, a great soundtrack and unique role playing and strategy elements into one great package - albeit one very different from what we are used to.

Mega Man 11 is a precise, colorful and rewarding platform game.

Super Mario Party is still a game about backstabbing your friends and rubbing it in when you get a star right in front of their noses.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is far from perfect, as the combat feels clunky, the voice acting is all over the place and the late game level requirements feels really restricting, but despite all that it's hard not to adore the overall experience. The scope and feel of the world are simply amazing – the depiction of Greece is extremely beautiful – and thanks to the stellar exploration mode and the varied array of activities, it's also way more fun to explore than before.

Dragon Quest XI is a fantastic, fun and journey through a beautiful world. It's a shame the music wasn't given more attention.

EA has made some additions and changes for the better that you notice immediately.

NHL 19 is a good hockey game and the Chel mode is fun, but the game fails to make changes that separate it enough from its predecessors, something especially noticable when the graphics engine has been the same for so many years in a row now.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider lacks the feeling of innovation and change its predecessors brought with them. Lara is still an agile and powerful character, but the world and mechanics feel aged, giving us little more than more of the same.

This version of Spider-Man is easily among the most fluent games of all time. This is partially because of the extremely smooth way you can swing around the city, but is also due to the way everything from the story to the combat comes together to form a cohesive and engaging whole. It's not a perfect game: There are a few boring segments throughout, some characters end up feeling a bit out of place and there's an unshakeable feeling that most of the main story has been seen before, but Insomniac still makes most of it work very, very well.

Two Point Hospital is a magical and incredibly fun and funny, game that improves on its older sibling Theme Hospital in every way.

State of Mind asks important questions and offers a mostly well-written story, but lacks the gameplay mechanics and the engaging puzzles to be a truly great game.
