Despite missing its multiplayer component and the past decade's worth of refinement in shooting, Modern Ware 2's campaign is a thrilling and epic as ever, well worth another plunge for nostalgics, or a first dip for newcomers to the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an ideal continuation of a established series that delivers all the right improvements without sacrificing the good feeling of homeliness.

Frustrating, passive and pretty all mixed into one. This should have been so much better.

DOOM Eternal is an fast-paced, gory and excellent game. The weapons feel great, the new systems and gadgets make the combat flow even better than the previous game. The levels are bigger and easier to navigate, and when the combat flow hits you nothing is better. Shooting, freezing and blowing up hoards of demons have never been better.

While the first Nioh game was a more unique and brave twist on the Souls formula, Nioh 2 is a more polished and precise version of that same formula.

Warlords of New York gives players another excuse do dive back into The Division 2's outstanding combat, preferably with a friend or three. However, the quality of the campaign is slightly marred by some odd design choices, and the new progression system won't be enough to keep players hanging around.

Wolcen has the potential to be a good, possibly even great ARPG at some point. But the solid and heavy combat, versatile class system and number of possible character builds is littered and held back by bugs, unbalanced abilities and a game that just doesn't run that great. Beautiful graphics and animations only go so far when the game stutters, combat lags and abilities and talents plain just don't work. Maybe it will be good at some point, but as it is now the bugs just ruin almost all the fun Wolcen has to offer.

Dreams is wholly unique in that it gives the common player the tools to create virtually whatever they want. The unfortunate part is that the creations - at least so far and including the levels made by Media Molecule itself - are just not that fun to play. It will, however, be very exciting to see where this game will be in the upcoming months and years.

So then we are left with Warcraft III, only with a bit nicer figure models and surroundings, and a small bunch of removed elements. If you have the old game from before, it is difficult to say that this renovation is worth the money. And when everything that's gone in Reforged is additionally removed from the old version of the game, it's hard not to scratch our heads and wonder what we're paying for. What's the point?

Ancestors is one of the most exciting games of the decade. Despite some frustrating elements, Ancestors is an incredible experience and a tour de force of game design.

Mosaic is a game that tries to ease the player into a melancholy atmosphere, only broken up by small glimpses of light. There are no typical challenging gameplay systems or problems to solve, but that is kind of the point of the game.

Darksiders Genesis is a completely mediocre, somewhat boring game. There is good entertainment for a few hours, but then the variation ends and it becomes very much the same enemies, the same level, the same mission and you do more or less the same thing for the rest of the game.

The eight generation of Pokémon games is far from the astounding leap one might hope for when transitioning to a full-blown home console, but it still offers a hell of a lot of engaging, colorful and charming fun.

An endless repetitive game that never offers any excitement, but instead serves up one uninspired place full of romans that it takes a long time to beat down.

Need for Speed Heat has a lot of fun ideas, intense police chases, an incredible look and great sense of speed. It does however lack something to make it stand out from the pack, and after the story's done, there's not much keeping me coming back for more.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is charming and gets more challenging by the level, but its boring ghost-fighting and money-collection-focused gameplay gets old fairly soon.

Its sometimes highfalutin story may not be for everyone, and the gameplay will undoubtedly turn some away. However, if you can get into the weirdly zen-like groove of Death Stranding, with its enticing world and deep lore, you may very well find it to be a wholly unique journey you'll end up loving every step of.

In the end it's the freedom of choice, and how those choices impact the world Obsidian has created that makes The Outer Worlds so great. You can be and act almost as you please, and do as little or as much for the people around you. Great writing, creative quest lines and solid voice acting makes the 40 hours a great experience.

Concrete Genie is simple, but deeply engaging once you get into it. The game has a lot going for it, including a good look, superb music and mechanics that are fun to use, but there's a few snags here and there – in particular the very flimsy motion controls and lackluster AI – which keep it from true greatness.
