The Holy Gosh Darn is a solid adventure game that entertains from start to finish. The game has a consistently good flow, and avoids many of the typical pitfalls from the genre by letting the player experiment and play with different outcomes, without being able to make a significant number of mistakes.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 delivers some of the most fun and exhilarating traversal mechanics in any game ever. This makes it a blast to explore its colorful open world, filled with engaging combat, fun collectables and great one-offs. The game does however falter somewhat in the story department, especially in an overly messy third act that's nowhere near reaching the consistently emotional peaks of its predecessor.

OlliOlli is a fast paced trial of will and skateboard techniques, having you swearing and laughing throughout it’s many challenges, as well as coming back for more each day.

Cities: Skylines 2 is not a huge revolution for the genre, but it represents a step forward that I think the vast majority of fans of both the original game and the genre in general will enjoy.

King's Bounty: Warriors of the North doesn't do anything new, but it's still a hugely enjoyable game that offers tons of content. I wish Katauri would make a full sequel, but until that happens, this will provide hours of addictive fun in classic King's Bounty-style.

The brutal and fast paced action you get from Warhammer 40, 000: Space Marine truly does its venerable game universe justice. The fun combat, spectacular environment and good multiplayer makes the game thoroughly enjoyable.

With an increased focus on realistic movement, FIFA 14 takes a step away from the fast paced, easy accessible gameplay that has defined the series for years. It's a harder game to get into, but way more fun when you actually do. Some slight issues with the AI is annoying, but FIFA 14 is still a guarantee for hours of football fun.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a hybrid that combines Criterion's long-living Burnout-franchise, i.e. fun gameplay, fast paced action and exceptional driving, with the mechanics and elements that made the original Most Wanted so great in the first place, making for one of the best racing-games this side of 2010.

The extra content, funny characters and entertaining story introduced through Old World Blues, makes the great Fallout: New Vegas even better. There is much to explore, and who wouldn't want to meet up with one's own brain for a bit of a chat?

Football Manager is still the king on the hill of sports simulation games. Though FM16 is predictable and takes no chances with its established recipe, it delivers an infinitely repeatable game that is both very entertaining and wickedly addictive.

War of the Roses is a highly enjoyable multiplayer experience set in medieval England. It offers a challenging combat system, deep class customization and an authentic feel, but can at times be unpolished in terms of gameplay.

It is one of these games that is the full package. It has engaging mechanics that really make you want to play, it has a visual style that really highlights everything the game is trying to do, and it has some of the best and most varied music I've heard in a while.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 offers a lot of fun action with friends and strangers. The level designs are great and the visuals amazing, but I wish there were some added depth to the gameplay that would spice things up after a certain number of hours other than the Heroic Deeds missions.

The remake of Resident Evil 3 is, like its predecessor, a technical marvel that through effective use of light, dark and intense resource management builds real, palpable horror. The campaign is unfortunately a bit short, lacking both in puzzles, truly memorable environments and replayability – especially when directly compared to last year's remake of Resident Evil 2. The multiplayer, Resistance, has a lot of good ideas, but needs some balance adjustments before it is truly great.
