In an attempt to make their flight simulator more accessible to a wider audience, they subsequently made it unrealistic for flight fanatics, as well as uninteresting to a larger audience due to a lack of gameplay elements.

2D platform- and puzzle games and art go hand in hand. Thus is the case with Closure. It offers an amazing artistic experience and knows how to stand out in a crowd with a unique concept and entrapping atmosphere. Like a reader of poetry, you make your way through Closure: you don't always know what you're doing, but the experience is always amazing.

Bugbear is back, and how! They magically transformed the Ridge Racer-franchise to a Hollywood blockbuster on steroids, without losing track of the race-element. Unbounded is challenging, fast, varied and offers sufficient options to play it again, and again, and again.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is the best Nintendo 3DS-game, that you don't actually want to play on a 3DS. It has a fun single player, a cool story with and a well excecuted multiplayer. Unfortunately, you're bound to get cramps in your hands and fingers if you don't use the stand that comes with the game.

Digital Reality wants to breathe new life into the shoot-'em up genre with Sine Mora. At a glance they succeed with beautiful backgrounds and lots of variation. Other satisfaction can only be extracted from getting the best high scores, because the story is simply all over the place.

Yesterday offers a short but powerful story, but by the time it ends, you'll just want to see more. Developer Pendulo Studios created a decent point-and-click adventure game that is fun while it lasts. In short: it doesn't do anything exciting, but it doesn't really do anything wrong either.

Puzzlegames with musical elements aren't anything new, but Beat Sneak Bandit does feel the part. The game has a delightful graphical style and easy to learn but hard to master gameplay.

Underneath all sorts of technical oddities, lies a strong Silent Hill game. Great use of many creative ideas, the excellent pacing and an atmosphere that always keeps you on your toes makes Silent Hill: Downpour the first Silent Hill game that shows that this franchise has the potential to return to greatness.

Shinobido 2 is a game with a few nice ideas. For instance: it has a decent pace for a stealth game with open levels that offer multiple paths. But before you'll be able to see the good that it has to offer, you'll most likely be scared off by the other awful aspects it has, like atrocious graphics, too many menus and load screens, a boring and cliché-filled story and constant repetition in gameplay.

I Am Alive starts of great thanks to a combination of great ideas, interesting locations and a compelling story. Subsequently, the game rushes to an end with limited game mechanics and weird story related choices.

On the outside, Unit 13 looks like an ordinary actiongame, but looks can be deceiving. The game has a few cool ideas, can be quite diverse and has a lot of content. The short missions are also perfect for when you're on the road. So it'll be a while before we'll get bored with Unit 13.

From a technical standpoint Twisted Metal isn't all that, and you'll be waiting more online than actually playing the game. You'll mostly remember Twisted Metal as a entertaining kart racer. The presentation is quite sinister and the way you dispatch opponents brutal. In short, this is a spring-game that contradicts everything that blossoms, grows and oozes happiness.

Angry Birds Space is a refreshing new take on a well known concept. Figuring out how to launch the birds most effectively has become much more challenging due to the importance of gravity. The game feels fresh and is at least as addicting as its predecessors.

A fine puzzle game and inferior Portal-clone. It takes four hours to run through this fun experience.

Flatout 3 doesn't come close to the glory of the former games in the series. This game manages to throw everything that makes Flatout great out of the window. Forget this title.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a few weird changes to the formula, like superficial RPG-elements and a low difficulty. The fantasy world is breathtaking, but the game that takes places in it feels like it has an identity crisis.

Dustforce is a bittersweet experience for PC-gamers. It's a robust platform game with colourful graphics and an original concept, but you can get frustrated pretty easily thanks to unexpected difficulty spikes. It's a price we are willing to pay though!

The action is too familiar, the controls can be a pain every now and then and the singleplayer is only five hours long. Still, the overall feeling when playing The Darkness II is that it's a fun experience, thanks to the great story and fun cooperative mode.

Golden Abyss comes out on a new platform, but plays it safe. There's lots of climbing, shooting and joking, but not a moment where the player is truly surprised. The only new ideas come with the touch controls, but they don't add anything worthwile to the game. A solid and fun adventure, but nothing special.

Boom Street is not a Mario Party rip-off. Instead of minigames you play a different version of Monopoly. With that surprise out of the way, this boardgame with Nintendo's mascots is a fun experience for the whole family.

Catherine is a very creative product with fresh ideas, unique themes and an attractive style. But because of two entirely different gameplay styles – the texting and flirting storywise and the puzzling gameplaywise – the game also feels incoherent. It's a shame, because the puzzling is an unneeded distraction of the sublime story.

Soulcalibur V doesn't change the formula and doesn't even try. A fighting game in the purest form, that we all know and love for years. A few delicate tweaks and a robust online mode make you come back for more.

Revelations is the proof that the 3DS is really a powerhouse. The circle pad makes controlling the game a great experience as well. The cooperative Raid-mode is a fine addition. The action-sequences in the main game weren't necessary, however.

The Old Republic is a high quality MMO that Star Wars-fan will absolutely love. Graphics, sound and story fit perfectly within the diverse Star Wars-universe. The game owes a lot to MMO's like World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online, however, many things we've seen in other games really shine in the capable hands of BioWare. The Old Republic is a game that will especially impress those new to the genre.

Rayman goes from 3D to 2D but gains charm and quality in the progress. The hand-drawn levels are beautiful and well animated, the music has rhythm that compliments the gameplay and playing the game with two, three or four players is hectic in a good way.

Mario has some restrictions in Super Mario 3D Land, which is why the game comes closer to the original platformers that are all about challenge and focused platform levels. It all works out, thanks to the surprise at the end of the game and the wealth of challenges available here.
