There is plenty to philosophize about regarding Tomodachi Life. It’s an alienating product of its own time: we’re dealing with a game where the player is forced, passive-aggressively, to take the role of voyeur. But as a game, Tomodachi Life is never really fun. Tomodachi Life is no more than a stiff repetition exercise that is intriguing, yet kind of boring.

The game means well but comes short in many ways. The simple graphics showing off peaceful backdrops combined with some relaxing music are the highlight of the experience, but the combat is too simple and boring and there’s too big of an emphasis on it. Plenty of good ideas that players don’t need to use during the game. A shame, really.

Mushroom Men is a nice platformer, but there are some elements that can't keep up the pace. Especially the graphics and the irritating camera position are dragging along. However, if you're looking for a game that will bring back memories of the gold old days of platforming than Mushroom Men should do just fine.

Mario Power Tennis doesn't work quite as well with the Wiimote as we hoped for. So if you already played Mario Power Tennis on the GameCube, there is always that feeling that you lack control. And where is the online game mode? Games like Mario kart and Super Smash Bros. Brawl have it. In the end Mario Power Tennis will do just fine on parties, but misses out on a lot of opportunities.

This collection is a pretty decent compilation with some of the best titles the Mega Drive has seen. If you're one of those gamers that is still longing for the glory days of the 16 bit era then you shouldn't miss out on this title. If you're not, keep in mind that the games on this disc offer you nothing more than the games like they where back in the days. Meaning outdated graphics and squeeky noises. Something a real fan would die for.

Unfortunately Age of Empires II HD isn't a very impressive update. It disappoints graphically and not much has been done to improve or modernize it. The gameplay is still strong though, and Age of Empires II still shows how balanced and detailed strategy games can be. With the addition of the Steam Workshop there's enough potential here for the game to be given a new look. Too bad this is left up to the players though.

Men of War: Assault Squad 2 is exactly what you expect from a game in a series known for its extreme hardcore, unforgiving and frustrating strategy titles. Of course there is nothing wrong with that, but because of that is it fun for only a very limited group of players. With better control and some tutorials for beginners, it would be more accessible without losing out on difficulty. The new multiplayer mode where you play 8 versus 8 is a nice addition that makes the game even more chaotic and complex. That is where the game shines, because the singleplayer adds nothing to what the series already did before.

With a new face and tone, Battletoads manages to reinvent itself a little bit. It produces a beat 'em up that makes all kinds of forays into other genres with a sense of humor. Just like the jokes in the story, that is not always successful. Sacrifices have been made that really don’t give Dead Space 3 much to show for. A game developed by Double Fine isn't necessarily a great one, so it seems. Middle Manager of Justice's charming art and a few good lines don't compare to the technically better games in its genre.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand doesn't take itself too seriously and never tries to be anything more than easy entertainment. If you look at the game in this perspective, then you'll have no problem in liking the game. Especially when you're playing it with a friend. But there are a few things missing, like a splitscreen and an online mode. Or a high difficulty setting. Making the game far from perfect for the experienced gamer.

Thanks to Rapstar we now finally have a karaokegame that makes us rap instead of sing. The problem is Rapstar can't decide if its for the hardcore hiphop-fan or the mainstream listener. And why on earth is the foul language edited out?

ModNation Racers is nothing to write home about, and is best compared to standing still in traffic during rush hour. You'll stand still, pull up slightly, hit the brakes, and stand still again. Not even beautiful scenery will rectify this road trip.

Red Faction: Armageddon contains loads of potential: it has delightful weapons and allows for amazing amounts of destructibility. This potential hardly comes to fruition though, as the game degrades itself to a claustrophobic and cliché-filled hallway-shooter. A few fun vehicle-sections and extra game-modes save this title from getting an insufficient grade.

EA Sports UFC 4 offers intense combat despite complicated controls. Indeed: just like its predecessor. Part four plays it way too safe.

The tower of blocks that is Tumble VR is built on very unstable puzzles. If you keep on building, you will definitely find some beautiful things, but you might have stopped playing before that happens.

The Saboteur had a lot of potential thanks to the unique setting, but this hasn’t resulted in a good game. The story never gets really interesting and the gameplay is too bare-bones to really make an impression. Not a great farewell for Pandemic Studios.

Gotham Knights strings together weird design choices. Whether it be the open world, the combat system or even the co-op: it's all just not fleshed out enough. The potential is there for those willing to dig deeper into this batsoup. But it shouldn't be necessary to dig this deep for highlights. Gotham Knights is the superhero game we deserve yet need.

SimAnimals has some nice features that will hold your attention for a couple of hours. It's too bad that the limited amount of areas and a lot off repeating missions take away some of the fun. In the end the feeling that they could have done a lot more with this title remains. The hand looked at all he created and saw that is was good, but far from divine.

Special Forces: Team X is the typical example of a run of the mill shooter. It borrows from practically all well known shooters like Gears of war and Call of Duty, but on no level does it achieve the same level of quality. It’s not a terrible game though, and the selection-method for maps is actually a quite unique way of guaranteeing some variety. Still, there are dozens of better alternatives for Special Forces: Team X.

Gotham City Imposters is nothing more than a simple first person shooter, that mainly has an interesting levelsystem and a large number of weapons, gear and special items to unlock. The absurd style that mocks the Batman-universe is entertaining, but doesn't make the average gameplay more interesting.

LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean is full of beautiful environments and funny situations. But every time you try to enjoy them, your fun is spoiled by hindering mistakes made while polishing the game. Especially the unclear puzzles and the lacking platforming-sections make the game unnecessarily frustrating.
