Spellforce 3 mixes two beloved genres, RPGs and RTSs, and even though it does not excel in either gameplay branch it succeeds in delivering a solid, fresh and unique experience. Through a solid story and world building it gives the opportunity for our hero to actually take part in battles in contrast with traditional RPGs, where he is only a spectator.

A great game for newcomers and veteran fans of the franchise alike, that comes with a good learning curve and huge amount of content that includes new areas and monsters which will consume hundreds of hours of your gaming time.

The combination of the huge experience Arc Systems Works has in the genre with the wonderful art and world of Dragon Ball delivered a great 2D fighting game that is masterfully crafted for purists and casual gamers alike.

Sandberg should be proud for delivering such a complete metroidvania game on his own. It may be a bit rough around the edges, but this doesn’t stop it from having competent platforming mechanics but, more importantly, an engrossing story with characters oozing with personality, something of a rarity for the genre.

An artistic and gaming triumph! BluePoint Games has delivered a superb remake that is absolutely faithful to the original masterpiece by Ueda-san and his team. Even if you’ve played and finished the original game or the HD remake for the PS3, you should definitely consider playing this version as well as it is the most beautiful of all.

We were expecting much more from Supermassive Games, the guys behind the sleeper hit Until Dawn. Unfortunately, The Inpatient is a very slow and rather bland prequel to Until Dawn that immediately captivates players with its eerie atmosphere and superb graphics, but fails in almost every other aspect.

Even though Street Fighter V was in our opinion a great game, with this edition Capcom outdone it and took it to the next level. At this point Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is the richest and most complete 2D fighter on the market.

The beautiful platformer from Japan Studio hasn’t lost an ounce of its charm, and in PS4, with the enhanced resolution, it looks and feels better than ever.

Although the game remains virtually the same, the upgrade on the graphics and the fps deliver a better pace and, overall, a better game. If you are looking for a good JRPG, this edition of Star Ocean: The Last Hope is highly recommended.

If you are looking for an epic adventure that will take hours to complete, then Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a must-have! Despite some rather unjustified flaws, it is a game with a satisfying story and cast, wonderful level design, a memorable soundtrack and a deep -yet easy to pick- battle system. A must-have for all Switch owners and a glimpse of the Switch’s bright future ahead.

Those who look for a JRPG which includes a high difficulty challenge that emanates from the player's choices, will surely be satisfied from an all-time classic like Romancing Saga 2.

The spiritual successor of Road Rash, Road Redemption, offers tons of unadulterated fun. Many may find its driving too Arcady for their taste, but the rogue-like campaign experience and the tense off-road battles reward the player. The beautiful OST and a very nice old school oriented couch co-op give the game some extra lift.

Okami was a masterpiece of game design when it was first released, it was a masterpiece in its various remasters and it remains a gaming masterpiece in this edition for the PS4.

It’s quite perplexing that such a derivative dungeon crawler could be developed from the talented Frozenbyte, a studio that in the past brought the especially clever and charming Trine series. Nine parchments only retain the visual appeal (though not without repetition), in an otherwise unremarkable adventure filled with uninspired level design, lack of interesting enemies and an utterly problematic camera.

A game that could have been lots of things. It could have been a tribute to a great franchise that is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary. It could have been a place of reference for active multiplayer gaming that offers pure fun. Instead, it is a collection of mini-games that can be compared to a trip down the memory lane – an opportunity to relive good gaming moments, which is marked by lack of elements that can give this title its proper place into the Mario Party fandom.

At first glance Fallout VR impresses with its huge scale and sheer mass, and it does very well in the action/ shooting/ movement field, but it never manages to captivate a seasoned VR user due to its lack of actual virtual reality gameplay implementations and unintuitive and uncomfortable Pip-Boy controls. A game aspiring to lead the VR-gaming sector should be made for VR from the scratch.

After the release of Skyrim VR we were expecting something similar for Doom. Unfortunately what we got is a quite short spin-off that showcases the perks of VR, but fails to deliver the overall superb experience of the original (2016) Doom.

It is mind boggling how the team behind such a gem like the Book of Unwritten Tales, could take a great series like Black Mirror and release such a poorly designed game. Clunky controls, poor animation, short length, frustratingly many loading screens and an overall lack of polish make us wish the Black Mirror had remained buried underground were it belonged.

A Hat in Time proudly doesn’t shy from showing its inspirations from the 3D platform classics while radiating its own unique personality thanks to charmingly designed worlds (although we could do with a bit more of them!). It is unfortunate then that precise jumping is never as… precise as it should be. Even though it may not hinder the enjoyment by much it is nevertheless a shortcoming in an otherwise especially enjoyable experience.

Definitely not the Pokémon game that is set to include new, groundbreaking gameplay elements. However, it’s the Pokémon game that expands on the original story of the current generation, a game that is able to offer hours of gameplay to the extent that only the Pokémon series can do; but, most importantly, it is a beautiful farewell to the Alola region and to an era of Pokémon games in pure portable consoles. Looking forward to see the new heights Game Freak is going to reach with the upcoming Switch game.

Besides the immersion you get by playing this game in VR mode, there isn’t any real reason to visit the North of Tamriel again. But for those who haven’t experienced Skyrim before and are owners of a PSVR headset, this is probably the best edition to choose.

Sonic Forces has the power and the duration of fireworks. It is at points spectacularly beautiful and smooth, but it is extremely short, easy and offers little you have not seen before.

There are no actual improvements to the original game (besides the 4K resolution and some minor tweaks), but that’s perfectly fine with us. L.A. Noire is today as charming as it was when it originally came out and is probably the best depiction of a 40’s era L.A. in video games to date.

The sequel of Hand of Fate convinced us that its unique mix of card game and real-time combat could be more than a one-shot gimmick, though it still has a long road to achieve an even quality across all its areas. The card side of the game may be vastly improved, but the real-time combat is the part that is still quite underwhelming. Hopefully in the next iteration we'll see the combat receiving the same attention as the card side of the game.

Besides the nostalgia that can bring up to the ones that have played the original version, and a decent story, the remake/ remaster of Outcast is full of technical issues and a design that hasn’t aged well at all.

Rarely have we witnessed such a betrayal of a perfectly good game by the very company that owns it. Drawing the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, Battlefront 2’s progression system and Loot-fest extravaganza are downright hostile to the people who just want to enjoy the game. EA seems to have taken on the corrupted mantle of the Emperor and, despite the truly awe-inspiring Star Wars themed playground that DICE has faithfully built, Battlefront 2 has an unpleasant Anakin Skywalker vibe to it.

Even though some aspects of the game, like the visuals and the roster- have been much improved, this year’s WWE suffers from a shallow My Career mode some bugs and, of course, loot boxes.

Α good choice for those who are looking for a fast paced, easy to pick up action-RPG game with charming visuals.
