As it sits now though, the bigger question in the end is whether it's fun or not. In short bursts, the answer is certainly yes, especially for the pre-teen set. But, if you are looking to spend hours living the mantra "gotta catch them all", then Invizimals is one catch you'll want to let back into the wild.

Unfortunately, I suspect that the initial impressions of Section 8 will not be positive for many due to the slightly odd setup system, fairly complex character customization system, muddy controls and bland single player campaign. This is fair to a certain extent as all of these are valid issues but once you become accustomed to the game it really does offer an awful lot of value.

I am sure the “Grindhouse” graphics and audio will annoy some people to death, those brave enough to see the games beauty behind the rough graphic filters, rock-a-billy music and blood n’ guts gameplay will find much entertainment in this game. Certainly one of the few new gaming franchises that are a true must buy this summer. Rubi and WET totally rock.

While the single player may come off as generic to some, the story is interesting enough to be worth a look for anyone with even a passing interest in the sci-fi shooter genre. Still, it’s the multiplayer that really stands out as the best on the Wii.

A buy to whoever felt intimidated by NHL 09’s approach in terms of game modes and controls. For the hardcore hockey fan...it’s hard to recommend but it deserves a good look.

NASCAR 09 is far better game than last year’s...but it still a long, long way from what we’ve seen in "NASCAR 06," which I still think was and still the best NASCAR game ever.

Four players, over 50 levels and some addicting gameplay make this a game we love seeing as gamers.

Monsters vs. Aliens is a solid game that really makes the most of its source material. While it’s relatively short, there’s a ton of fun packed into every minute of play time. Even if you weren’t a fan of the movie, the gameplay here is fun enough to recommend to anyone looking for a good action/platformer on the Wii. Beenox seem set to dispel the myth that all movie-licensed games need to be absolute crap, and I have to say, they’re doing an excellent job, so far.

It is really hard to recommend this year’s edition of The Inside. The additions from last year are strictly on the Block Party side of things when improvements were desperately needed on the hardwood. If you still have last year’s edition, I would say stick with it for one more year. But, if you are in desperate need to play an NBA game on your PSP, be prepared for a mediocre performance on the court.

For those who are looking for a grossly engaging and absorbing challenge, you won’t find that here. It is a fine first release in North America, so here’s hoping that if a sequel is in the cards, more effort is put into giving everyone a more expansive experience.

Codemasters tries to bring its Operation Flashpoint series into different territory by giving Red River a cinematic feel and accelerated gameplay mechanics that its predecessors didn't have. It doesn't fail completely as this new entry is serviceable enough for those who never got around to playing a single entry in the franchise. As for the hardcore fans, well, they are experienced enough to get accustomed to things, but that doesn't mean they'll be happy about it.

If you’re an Alone in the Dark fan and you have the two consoles, the PS3 is definitely worth picking up. But we strongly think that the game remains a good rental since once you’re done with the game, the interest to replay it again won’t be present. But please, pick up the PS3 version.

I hate to say it but this is not a game that I can recommend to anyone unless they are completely patient and are absolute die-hard action strategy fans and then Blue Dragon Plus is only a game I would recommend to be rented or purchased from a bargain bin.

Swarm is a tough game to judge. The difficulty is without a doubt the biggest hurdle someone must overcome when playing. It takes a while before feeling comfortable and even then, the challenge doesn't ease up.

For around $10, Serious Sam HD is a bit of old-school shooter fun but, unless you’re wild about the original, there isn’t much reason to pick this one up. There isn’t anything technically wrong with this port, it’s just the gameplay that won’t appeal to a large audience.

NHL 2K10 has the style, but unfortunately, the substance just isn’t as compelling on the Xbox 360/PS3. While the Wii has a shiny new control scheme and a drastic upgrade in content, the HD console versions are merely last year’s game with a new coat of paint. This is a game that plays it too straight and doesn’t take any risks. While it’s more polished than previous games in the series, it just isn’t bringing anything really new to the table this year.

For the first Wii-specific racer by EA, Need for Speed Nitro is a step in the right direction. The only major factors that hold it back from absolute greatness are the repetitive career mode and lack of online play.

If you're looking for a fun and interesting puzzle-based platform game for your 360, Ancient of Ooga is a worthy option. The combat and sometimes unnecessary tutorials might bring it down a notch but thankfully, its concept and quick-play feel more than makes up for those short-comings. Again, if you are in need of some enjoyment after a long day in the sun, you can't go wrong with this one.

Well if you are a fan of the Final Fantasy games at all and are looking for a good single player RPG then look no further. But if you dislike the older Final Fantasy games and are not willing to buy new content to extend the game you should look elsewhere.

Although the game carries the name SHIFT, don’t expect a faithful simulation replica of the console version. While it’s not your perfect racer, it packs enough punch to entertain you at a reasonable price. Now, if you have played Gran Turismo, you might see it as a huge backward step but let’s be reasonable here…EA Bright Light didn’t took five years to develop this one.

Given its turbulent development, I expected it to come in dead on arrival. Instead, I found it to be a solid survival game that, above anything else, kept my palms sweaty and my muscles tense.

If you're going to play alone, you will have to deal with some noticeable camera issues and hours of grinding. If you're planning on playing with friends or strangers, you'll still have to deal with the same problems, the amount of content available may make up for it.

Madness Returns' presentation won't please everybody and the average gamer might feel out of place with the unique horror-theme. Since there are very few games on the market like it presentation-wise, Alice's newest adventure is worth checking out.

So much potential, such poor execution. If they could fix the lag and matchmaking then perhaps this could be a lot of fun, but sadly, I have to say that this game is just not that great.

If you’re new to the series, love all things Mario, or are just curious about how the great game of baseball is given a new twist in the Mushroom Kingdom, then by all means, give "Mario Super Sluggers" a chance, as it does offer some great fun in both multiplayer and single player games. However, if you’ve already got "Mario Superstar Baseball" for the Gamecube, the Wii version just doesn’t add enough to warrant a purchase outright.

If you choose to download Quake Arena Arcade, you need to understand that this won't compete with other multiplayer first person shooters on the Xbox 360 and that expectations need to be honest and reserved.

At the end of the day, HoR simply doesn't live up to its potential.

Fans of the series will play this and be content with what's on tap, but if you're looking to experience the popular sport in video game form, please try something else.
