Jurassic World Evolution is packed with qualities, especially for the fans of the Jurassic Park IP, but it lacks depth for now. As if the developers saved content to sell later as DLCs.

Risen 2 Dark Waters is an OK action RPG, but some of its design choices and several noticeable shortcomings will put the patience of gamers to the test. It may wield them a rewarding experience though, since the power grinding feeling you get when progressing is really exciting. But besides its difficulty and its less than average storytelling, what Risen 2 really suffers from is the release of titles that surpass it in every concevable way, starting with Skyrim and The Witcher 2.

Necrosphere is a tough, ruthless but fair challenge which takes a shiny new take at the 2D platformer genre by reducing its controls to a strange minimum. With only two buttons to cope with the progressive range of movements, players will have to learn how to master the game's mechanics. Thank to the addition of an even more hardcore bonus, the main game short's length will keep players awake for more.

What is Skelattack? A charming game with good platformer bits that doesn't manage to be convincing when it's about action or surprise in the exploration department. Still, it's a pleasant game for the time you play it, but don't expect it to be memorable.

After an average Dragon Rising episode, Codemasters corrects a lot of shortcomings and delivers, this time around, a more convincing tactical FPS. If the basics remain the same, with a similar technical side and order system, large and open environments, etc. the AI behaviors have been enhanced. This makes Red River a game that is still difficult, but less frustrating, and more immersive. It's also an experience you'll want to share online. A title that's not for everyone, but one that will appeal to virtual soldiers thanks to a unique design.

Lost Sphear is an all-in nostalgic RPG that never really tries to offer something new. But if the story starts in the most classic of ways, the game will fulfill patient gamers with some more complex stuff, and not-so-easy fights. Unfortunately, you will have to pass through an very generic artistic direction and pointless dialogue.

The Outlast Trials takes the franchise into a new multiplayer universe and surprisingly, it works quite well. The hide-and-seek from the saga remains intact, it's bloody and violent just like the previous games, and the sound design is excellent. But unfortunately, the content is still rather limited and we can get bored pretty quickly. However, we hope that Red Barrels will find ways to improve the game in the coming months.

Without being a bad game, Cobalt disappoints because of its solo mode. The strength of the title strictly rests in its multiplayer modes that will seduce the gamers who like the competition and the strategy.

With Sea of Thieves, Rare has created the basis for a truly exciting formula. This pirates sand box is simply charming, funny, visually stunning and so original...Unfortunately, it lacks an essential element, namely a sufficient launch content to captivate us at least a few months. Until the first content update in three months, the progression is currently a bit frustrating and repetitive, and many players will probably abandon ship earlier than expected.

Lume is a little point & click flash game whose strong suit remains mainly its artistic direction, with its handmade backgrounds, filmed in order to include the characters. This first chapter is rather simple : Lumi doesn't have power any more in his home, you need to restore it. It's really cute, but some puzzle really are too absurd. This results in some issues in terms of balancing. In the end, its also a little expensive.

Tumble VR is a satisfying VR puzzle game. Despite technical issues, that does not affect the gameplay much, the game offers many puzzles and a welcome Vs Mode. Not sure you will want to play it again after completion though.

But despite some interesting scrolling options, the game lacks the most obvious features it needed to really please every fan of the genre.

Fans will tell you that you do not play to EDF for graphics or technology, but for what it is: a funny thing done seriously. We like EDF as we like a good B-movie, where you can clearly see the hidden actor under the Godzilla disguise, destroying a cardboard-made city.

As expected from Big Ant, AO Tennis 2 looks more like a big update of the previous version than a brand new episode, and once again largely relies on the community to complete the content. While still lacking some tennis expertise, the australian studio managed to optimize the gameplay, that finally shows its potential full of delicacy - in every sense of the word. The main additions focused on immersion emphasize this laudable quest for authenticity, although their rather limited impacts tend to exhibit the superficial side of this production, yet unfinished, but built on solid bases.

The Crew 2 did a good job on improving the original game. It's a little bit more of everything, and the new road/sea/air feature offers a lot of fun and variety. Some new race categories are much better than others however (the bike races are particularly bad), and the driving controls are still basic compared to what we can expect from a 2018 racing game.

Like a herbarium, Hey! Pikmin is a conscientious, wonderful, tactile, yet flat transposition of the series' singular gameplay, mostly preserved along the way. While some depth, even life was lost in the process, this lateral perspective lets Captain Olimar explore the vertical dimension of this feral world rather quietly and cleverly, carrying its delicate ecological message to new heights as well.

If not revolutionnay, ChromaGun is a pleasant variation of Portal basing its core mechanics on primary colors more than the laws of physics. Quite fun and challenging as soon as it takes liberties from its primal inspiration, Pixel Maniacs' game unfortunately suffers from a lack of consistency from start to finish. Those able to forgive the most forgivable puzzles will get a decent experience that will give your brain a hard time.

Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games has this little extra something compared to the previous games, namely retro events, eminently sympathetic to the most nostalgic, and an aspect of an interactive tourist brochure on Tokyo and the Olympic Games, pleasant for those who love to learn about these two topics. For the rest, to know what is still the heart of the game, Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics does not yet seem to be able to win among the classics of the family multiplayer genre, the fault of the gameplay sometimes too complex, at other times too basic, not allowing any one to really stand out and leaving on the face of those who participate a pout rather than a smile in most cases.

Ten years. That's what it took for a follow-up to the original American McGee's Alice to be born. A great day for the fans, who will immediately recognize the trashy-gore touch of the developer. They won't be disappointed by the singular atmosphere, which captures imagination right from the start of the game. But its terrible lack of polish and technical shortcomings may also frighten a lot of people. The fans will probably forgive those, but others may not.

NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 improves on a quite a few aspects of the original game like game modes and gameplay mechanics. But its microtransaction model leaves a sour taste in the player's mouth. Unlocking great players takes a very long time and the game wants to get you to buy in-game credits. But if you're patient, or spending more money isn't a problem for you, you can have a lot of fun with NBA 2K Playgrounds 2.
