Pokemon Mystery Dungeon crawled back to its roots - a well written narrative and an unforgiving gameplay - while modernizing some core concepts such as the friendlier recruitment system to create a more cohesive adventure through a larger world. Thus it's really a "Super" episode, from a quantitative or a qualitative point of view.

Final Fantasy Explorers is a good alternative to other Monster Hunters-like games, with an original gameplay and a good amount of fan service to please Final Fantasy addicts.

Deus Ex The Fall is a rather nice attempt at pushing a Deus Ex experience on touch devices; it works, but not flawlessly. With a less than stellar level design, some annoying bugs, and limited branching, The Fall seems to make the most of less than ideal devices, but do not think for a minute that it can go on par with the real thing on a full-fledged console or PC. Still very nice to play, though, as a point of entry to the series or a quick fix until a real sequel to Human Revolution.

Trek to Yomi is a gorgeous 2.5D action game that pays a vibrant tribute to the films of Akira Kurosawa with an absolutely stunning and unique cinematic aesthetic. Unfortunately, the combat is not as good as we would have liked due to a lack of feeling and precision during the fights.

With local or online play, and StreetPass features, the multiplayer side of Mario Tennis Open rivals, at last, the one of the home console versions. Sure, the usual RPG side we had on the portable versions didn't make the cut, thus diminishing the quality of the solo mode to some extent, but the AI quality and the collection side make up for it. With accessible yet deep gameplay, Mario Tennis will appeal to all Tennis fans.

Song of the Deep is a soft and tender faery/mermaid tale in the form of a Metroidvania game. It offers a strong atmosphere and beautiful graphics, but suffers some gameplay issues and is maybe too easy for gamers who need a real challenge.

The target audience for this Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is clearly nostalgic people. This remaster is a nice starter to wait for the main course: Age of Empires IV. Despite bugs such as a shameful pathfinding and some zoom problems, this is not a lazy version. Graphics and audio improvements are enough to once again enjoy one of the most important games in PC games History.

Absolver is charming beat them all with some good Dark Souls elements, with a big PvE section. Its combat mechanics, where you can customize your own combos sets, is great but the whole system is a little bit rigid, so the multiplayer fights might not feel very pleasant to everyone.

God Eater 2 Rage Burst is quite a good Monster Hunter Like, with good gameplay and RPG mechanics, all that in an original universe... but its graphics and sound are really bad.

Demon Slayer: The Hikonami Chronicles is a bit lacking where it had everything to succeed: with a faithful representation of the characters of the anime, it does not go further, with an empty environment, dated textures and a technique that smacks of old, even on next-gen consoles, not to mention a cruel and glaring lack of variety in the action. But he has for him a model more than faithful to the anime and a combat system as simple as it is effective, which will appeal to the greatest number, despite a weak roster and great confusion in the action when several people are fighting at the same time. A game of average quality after all, for fans and for those who want to easily take their eyes off between combos.

Revolution revived the Broken Sword with The Serpent's Curse, which is rudely divided (we could say "broken") in two parts. This first episode of the investigation is pleasant to follow, and even a little easy, it offers some of what fans expect from this point & click series: the humor of unusual characters and a funny world of clichés, but it misses the dark fantastic side, pushed back to the next episode. So, we keep a cool head and we wait for Episode 2.

The Devil in Me is certainly the best game of The Dark Pictures Anthology thanks to its antagonist, to this hotel full of traps and a scarier experience than before. At the same time, this episode has the same flaws than its predecessors.

Murasaki Baby is born of a weird yet inspired artistic approach, subtly expressed through the gameplay's metaphorical dimension. Despite a rough execution that stresses some design and ergonomic issues, Ovosonico therefore managed to create a fulfilling emotional experience.

Asterix and Obelix Slap'em All is a charming beat'em all which still lacks of depth too keep the enjoyment on the long run. Despite its gorgeous look and animation, the repetitiveness of the 50 levels and simple gameplay aim for a young audience more than the average street fighter.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force it will certainly not be the triumphant return that fans hoped for. The game is full of clichés from another time and stereotypical characters, the plot is forgettable and nothing stands out visually. Its super nervous and messy combat system raise the bar however.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is a truly Japanese Arcade gameplay experience that works pretty well on the Switch. Quite different from what Western Dragon Ball fans are used to playing and full of content and fan service, Bandai Namco Entertainment's game is one fans of Goku and friends should give a chance.

Pro Cycling Manager 2021 is very difficult pass to cross : in one hand, the game lacks novelty and many bugs remain. On another hand, it makes the most of its strong foundations, but in any case, anyone should wait for a few patches to get back in the saddle.

AER is trying so hard to look like those beloved games from which it is being inspired, but fails to do so. The game is filled with bugs and does not tell us an interesting story all along. Even though some aerial moments are quite a delight, the total lack of wind is incomprehensible, as is the rest of the gameplay. Why would you want to play this? We are still looking for an answer.

The Creator of Dead Space is back to horror and it hits hard. The Callisto Protocol is an intense, violent and old-school survival-horror. A game with a sense of horrific aesthetics that hits the nail on the head, a delightful atmosphere carried by a devastating sound design and a solid, brutal and gore combat system. Very Good.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is not a very good arcade-style football game. But it has the Captain Tsubasa's signature that offers some epic moments during its matches, and everything fans need to be hooked, like two story modes and some basic but strong ways to play with friends offline or online. It's very simplistic, quickly repetitive, but also very very enjoyable, especially if you're in need of something less serious.

Roller Champions has potential, but it actually looks like a very Early Access than a finished game. It almost has no content and its economic system is far from the healthiest on the market. Those who don’t want to pay, will have to grind for long hours just top hope to get hair or a less generic character.

StarFox Zero is the real followup to StarFox 64. Actually it's more a reboot of it than a totally new episode. It still offers hard-to-master but nice asymmetric gameplay and new vehicles, but it fails to be as surprising and as good as its model was in 1997, which is quite disappointing... without mentioning the graphics. Nostalgic fans will probably love it, though the others should be warned.

It would be easy to consider this Shinobi as true heir to its ancestors, since it's a sidecroller with a high difficulty and a white ninja. But unlike the cult ons on the Genesis, Shinobi on the 3DS doesn't answer to the required visual, technical, and narrative standards of its era. Its difficulty is more the result of collision bugs than careful or creative level design, and its general atmosphere is poor, at best.
