Pretty, dense, nerve-challenging, immersive, innovative... Outland is easily one of the gems of April 2011. Combining with talent several influences (Limbo, Castlevania, Ikaruga), it goes back to the rules of 2D platformers, with an added twist. It's an enticing tribal journey, with a soul, at a small price.- Gameblog.fr

FF IV, one of the best episodes of the Final Fantasy saga, is back in top shape, offering the original game, visually remade, its followup, and a brand new "Interlude" scenario linking the two. And you will enjoy this complete story with beautifully redesigned graphics. Those who have already experienced the first FF IV may wonder if it's worth replaying it again... but if you're a really big fan, we'll say yes!- Gameblog.fr

Some notable adjustments make PES 2018 a lovely football game that feels comfortable to play and realistic from the very first match. New animations, better physics and responsiveness are, along with the fact that it is quite challenging, what makes it a fun simulation that has to be considered for this season.- Gameblog.fr

Eager to redeem itself with its community, BioWare took the time to deliver what is probably one of its most successful productions in a long time and one of the best games in the saga. Between its epic and touching storytelling, its endearing characters, its captivating fights that can be modulated to the will of the eye, its sublime environments that we enjoy exploring or its answers to long-standing questions, Dragon Age The Veilguard is one of the best action-RPG games of this year. Newcomers will be welcomed with open arms by a story that sometimes flirts with the spectacular. The fans of the first hour will regret that the roleplay dimension that made the reputation of the studio is more behind. Dragon Age The Veilguard is more about evolution than revolution, but BioWare is finally back.- Gameblog.fr

Assassin's Creed Odyssey seems to be the series paroxysm: wider, richer and deeper than every other episode, the game still suffers from repetitiveness. The fascinating manhunt and the real choices will keep most players hooked up for a while, but only those who bought a PS4 Pro or a Xbox One X will benefit form the game's beautiful visuals. If you want to explore this endless Greek world inhabited with brilliant minds of their time, you will have to go through more of the same fetch quests the series has dealt with for so long.- Gameblog.fr

Burial at Sea episode 2 is a brilliant conclusion to the story that started a few months ago. This great stealth-oriented experience with Elizabeth will make you feel fear, loneliness, hope and sadness like not so many modern games can do.- Gameblog.fr

As time goes by, our mind tends to embellish memories of particularly fond moments. That's why we shouldn't embark twice on a journey, hoping to relive the same experience, no matter how wonderful we might remember it because it's often disappointing. However, Wind Waker HD demonstrates the opposite. Not only does its remarkable visual style appear even more vibrant in high definition, but this remake smooths unnecessary digression away, while preserving the freedom and the contemplative aspirations created by this huge world. Therefore, it sets out a truly unforgettable odyssey, both fresh and timeless.- Gameblog.fr

Capcom didn't risk too much: Dead Rising 2 is but a better Dead Rising. More content, more atmosphere, more zombies, more challenges, more multiplayer, more folly, more psychos, more weapons, and more desire to have another bite. But be warned: if you didn't like the playability of the first one, this sequel won't please you either. Every single thing one could criticize about the original is back for the sequel. It's still a wonder for zombies aficionados, a must-have for lovers of everytning that combines kitch aesthetics and gore... if you're able to tolerate some frequent and really long loading times.- Gameblog.fr

Circuit Superstars rides the nostalgia vibe of Micromachines N64, but manages to improve the recipe by using gorgeous visuals and adding a pretty realistic physics model into the mix. Clearly worth a shot if you like racing games, specially if Art of Rally is your jam.- Gameblog.fr

Just like Captain Toad, if you can't jump, you'd better use your brain. This down-to-earth approach transforms the environments into puzzles that require to look harder - and dig deeper - than expected in order to find all of their design treasures.- Gameblog.fr

Fez may not be as polished as its pairs, the Limbos and the Braids, but it's the indie gem we were expecting it to be. It's an ode to 8bit clichés for sure, but also a puzzler that will appeal to all the thinkers and explorers alike, filled with cuteness, an awesome soundtrack and atmosphere, and quite a load of secrets to uncover.- Gameblog.fr

If one word can summurise Black Myth Wukong, it would be : generous. In both good and bad. Game Science's title is indeed a beautiful adventure paying a convincing tribute to the mythical Journey to the West. We really feel like a mighty hero of the Chinese legends, in an epic saga that crushes us under its majesty. For its first AAA game, the Chinese studio offers us a great show with a visible enthusiasm. Perhaps too much. Some way too grandiose boss fights are marred by a frustrating lack of visibility and a rather unbalanced difficulty. Nonetheless, we were truly pleasantly surprised by this Action-RPG mixed with Souls-like elements from China. For a first shot (with a stick) in the big league of games, Black Myth Wukong makes its entry with flying colors. Such a prospect is promising for the other ambitious upcoming Chinese titles.- Gameblog.fr

High Hell will easily speak to every fan of the old-school FPS of the 90's. Thanks to its absurd design, Devolver's new game tastes like a nice trip of acid. The only downside to the formula is indubitably its short length, but we will gladly take those two hours of pure fun.- Gameblog.fr

A great stealth game that suffers from a few annoying flaws. The 20 rather long missions it offers are inconsistent quality-wise, making the fan constantly switching from frustration to utter delight. But these moments are so delicious that we eventually want to forget about the game shortcomings (odd difficulty balancing, perfectible AI, sequences that can't be dealt with without gunfights). In the end, we are particularly pleased to reconnect with this subtle and original gameplay from past Hitman games, the many different ways to kill a single target, and of course all these humor-filled dialogues and situations. You have to play it if you like stealth games.- Gameblog.fr

Metroid: Samus Returns is a powerful remake of the old Game Boy classic. By taking so much freedom from the original, Mercury Steam delivers a solid version, which still suffers from the structure of it. Much more narrowed than other games in the series, Metroid: Samus Returns only becomes a real blast through its last sections, but still offers a good run for every fan of the genre.- Gameblog.fr

Treyarch did well in introducing Call of Duty to new approaches. The solo, especially, is surprisingly replayable thanks to story variations based on both player chance and performance. The multiplayer seems to have found the definitive system for custom classes with Pick-10, and the new Zombies mode called Tranzit offers new surprises and and open-world feeling that surely make it better. The graphics engine really starts to look old though, and the solo suffers from big plot holes, less polished scripting, and less spectacular sequences.- Gameblog.fr

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is one of the most beautiful games you will play this year. Every stage is a visual and artistic masterpiece, and Gareth Coker's brillant soundtrack is the most delicious cherry on the cake. Sure, Kirby is extremely easy, and not really innovative, but it still is a quite refreshing experience. With high production values and an enchanting atmosphere, its a delicious journey through Dreamland's kingdom. If the youngest of gamers can dive in with closed eyes, platformers aficionados will have trouble looking the other way with its lack of challenge. If you are able to enjoy its naive world, you will discover a peace-inducing title, with a solid gameplay. Touching, warm, and reassuring like a sweater weaved by Grandma.- Gameblog.fr

Vermintide 2 is a splendor. Probably the best Warhammer game at the moment, especially because Fatshark studio is talented enough to keep only the best of this universe.
