There are good ideas behind Shadow of Loot Box and it's certainly something to praise that the game intends to lampoon some contemporary game conventions which are far from gathering a unanimous appeal. Unfortunately this idea is poorly implemented and this FPS with RPG elements turns out to be a game that is way too simplistic and affected by faulty controls. Beyond a promising first level, Shadow of Loot Box quickly comes down and ends up losing its main selling points.

With a world of neon-clad cyberpunk aesthetics, fast-paced action and an enthralling soundtrack, Sayonara Wild Hearts delivers a riveting experience that will make the player want so much more, as the game's only frustration derives from the short length of each level. Sayonara Wild Hearts demonstrates how a remarkable game does not need to borrow from the AAA formula of colossal worlds and hundred-hour gameplay experiences when something so bright and enveloping is enough.

It certainly gets things right and its performance, whether on the Switch screen or on a television screen, is very good. On the other hand, the enemy's AI displays some incomprehensible mistakes and the visual discrepancies on the maps make the experience less enjoyable than it could be, at the same time that the action moments in the game's semi-open world structure fall below par. A decent effort, nevertheless, and a game that can provide for some good hours of fun.

If at its core, the game itself remains good - it is, after all, the same as FIFA 19 - the product being sold under this name is simply not what EA should be presenting to its consumers. While updated squads and jerseys fit perfectly with the idea of a regular update to a football simulation, charging a full game's price for nothing but an update is simply unacceptable.

Golazo! does not deliver a serious football simulation and that's fine - fun and intense moments is all what this game is about, with its dribbling and tackling moves, enjoyable local multiplayer (pity for the lack of online though) and overall sense of satisfaction of a few hours well spent. Some technical issues need to be addressed and the emphasis on a more action/arcade experience will leave out more committed fans of the king of sports but Golazo! is more than able to provide some hours of less than serious fun.

Aegis Defenders has several points in its favour, such as well-designed gameplay mechanics, a quality plot and its good audiovisual environment, but as it becomes clear, a good game is more than the sum of its parts. The game's puzzles quickly start feeling repetitive and its difficulty level comes off as exaggerated, which contribute to put Aegis Defenders in the territory of games that could have edged towards a much more memorable status.

The Princess Guide may have creative and ambitious concepts and ideas and there's no doubt that it has several good aspects in its favour. Unfortunately the game also reveals some flaws when it comes to putting its ideas into place and the result is something that feels rather confusing, without a proper explanation of how the gameplay mechanics work, and with a too repetitive combat system.

My Girlfriend is a Mermaid?! goes along the visual novel conventions but doesn't dare to try anything groundbreaking or that would allow it to stand out among its peers. As such, the game features good examples of character animation and soundtrack but its humour gets repetitive too quickly and the protagonists are not as attractive as fans of visual novels would expect them to be.

Refunct has its advantages, it certainly helps the player relax and provides for a nice experience. Unfortunately Refunct is limited in what it gives the players: it is too short, too simple and its mechanics too limited for Refunct to be a truly enjoyable game. If Refunct made a greater effort at being a longer, more in-depth experience, it could be a recommended work.

Its missions can get confusing and repetitive at certain moments but the game's mechanics and environment are noting short of delightfully funny and are certain to keep the players laughing and enjoying the experience for some time.

Cinders is a visual novel based on the classic Cinderella story while reflecting a more modern take on the original and as a game that offers four different endings, it works: its concise, appealing writing, quality illustrations and compelling finals make this a motivating experience for fans of visual novels. Pity for its rather short length, which means that players have even more reasons to reach all possible endings.
