Sadly, Shank is a nice but short action game. The combat system is well studied but doesn't have the right balance, and the entire experience ends in three hours only. The offline only multiplayer game is also a crazy choice.

The Flame in the Flood is ultimately a melting pot of wasted opportunities that seems to be neither a survival rich with content, nor unforgettable auteur film. It is a real pity if we consider the fascinating structure supporting the game.

Quite an enjoyable skate game… if you're a total newcomer to this genre. This is neither Tony Hawk nor Shaun White Snowboading, but a weird mix of both games.

PowerWash Simulator is an oddly satisfying and relaxing experience in the short period but FuturLab needs to add new levels and modes in the future to keep up its niche audience.

Despite an interesting concept, Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space fails to deliver a smooth experience due some not-so-great gameplay mechanics and a terrible collision detection. Give it a try anyway if you like first person adventure and old school sci-fi b-movies.

Killsquad is a game that mixes a lot of genres and tries to be a lot of things together. It succeeds only partially due to a limited depth and an uninspired art direction.

The new work by Level 5 created a lot of expectations in us when first listening to the developers commentaries. Unfortunately, while it is clear that the developer tried hard to fulfill this high expectations, they didn’t succeeded. The game itself, even if good enough, loses the novelty and the authenticity of the other Level 5 works. It is just a tiny, simple, good adventure. Nothing more, nothing less.

Super Ultra Hyper Remix Dead Rising 3 Arcade Edition EX Plus Alpha is a journey into the past that traces all the masterpieces of Capcom. Unfortunately, the result is repetitive gameplay, though things improve if the campaign is played in coop.

A good pirates adventure, Jolly Rover suffers in originality, trying to imitate too much Monkey Island.

Thanks to a strong narrative and a relatively good concept, Nier is to be considered a decent addition to the PS3's and 360's RPG catalog. Although its visuals aren't surely breathtaking and its gameplay doesn't excel in terms of depth, the game will in fact manage to guarantee a likable experience to any fan of the genre.

Destruction All Stars is a game with fun gameplay and a pleasant technical showcase. The amount of content, unfortunately, is not enough to keep players' interest high in the long run. An articulated plan of updates and contents will be needed for the future.

Gat out of Hell is not the best way to expand the brand. Less story and more gameplay show how old and rough gameplay is. Volition's brand needs to be over the top to appeal it's fans, and this DLC rarely do it.

Valkyrie Elysium is an honest game, but victim of very evident production limits, which combined with the general result cannot justify the payment at full price. Despite being able to offer an interesting combat system, the game is characterized by a very mild progression and a structure that is all too simple, although solid.

Pro Cycling Manager 2014 is one of a kind, meaning there aren’t many game of this genre out there. Anyway it’s not something you’ll want to play if you do not love both simulators and cycling. If you love them than it is a fair Cycling Manager, nothing less, nothing more.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is the perfect example of how the lack of a strong game designer could crush the spirit of a great franchise. The first "Itagaki free" Ninja Gaiden is just a pale shadow of Ninja Gaiden Black.

Despite the expectations, Destiny's first DLC not only doesn't solve the flaws of the game, but makes them more evident. The lack of contents is evident and the story still remains unclear. It will be hard to find something to do for the next three months, when next DLC should arrive.

KickBeat is an interesting experiment ruined from a couple of clumsy design elements. The lack of a clean layout and the boring progression through the unlockable elements are the main issues of this project. The low price tag and the lack of good European music games on PS Vita are enough to turn KickBeat into a valuable option for gamers who are interested in replacing Lumines.

With this porting from the PS3 and the Xbox 360, something has gone terribly wrong. Not only the Wii U hardware hasn’t been used in the right way, but in six months nothing interesting has been added to the game by the developers. I you only own a Wii U, and you’ve never played LEGO City Undercover, only than you could give this a try.

Square Enix ports on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch a classic JRPG, released in 2000 on the first PlayStation. It does not add much to the original game: only better polygonal models of the characters and a better resolution in the cutscenes.

Quarrel is an interesting mix between Risk and Scrabble where you must conquer the enemy territory using anagrams. It's a nice game that can keep you playing for a long time, if you tolerate its frustrating AI that sometimes gives the sensation of cheating.

Saint Seiya: Sanctuary Battle is the perfect example of a wasted opportunity. Just like most of the games based on popular anime licences, Saint Seiya is graphically awful, but with tons of nice touches aimed to the hardcore fans. If you like the original brand, you could like this game too.

Godfall is visually pleasing, with a responsive gameplay and a nice level of challenge. Unfortunately, the narrative is mediocre and the game system appears almost entirely devoid of temper, which makes the game a little more than an adequate forerunner for the new gaming generation.

F1 2009 is an honest and pleasant game (yet with evident and avoidable flaws), but unluckily not the magnificent comeback fans were waiting for. Hopefully we'll see something a little more refined and meaty in 2010.
