Modern Warfare II is not as courageous as the previous one nor as revolutionary but it is still a fun, galvanizing and filled in content war FPS, enriched by a technical realization of absolute value.

God of War: Ragnarök is a modern epic poem, a great tale of change, a crucible full of content. It requires the user to understand - and above all choose whether to welcome - the creative ambition of the authors: powerful in the message, bittersweet in the story, undoubtedly distant from the historical soul of the God of War “video game”, but undeniably majestic. To date, there is no video game that can boast action sequences of the same quality as those that emerged in God of War: Ragnarök, just as there is no title that can count on the same staging.

PGA Tour 2K23 evolved from the last entry in multiple ways. The three-click swing adds another layer of playability, My Career is better than the previous one and the Top Golf mode is a fun multiplayer variation. There's still room for improvement and we can't wait to see the game against the upcoming EA's rivalry.

Bayonetta 3 achieves excellence on the gameplay side, with new gameplay mechanics and a spectacular sequence of over-the-edge scenarios. Unfortunately, this beautiful stylish-action game also enhances the limits of Nintendo Switch hardware, but remains one of the 2022 “must-have games” on the platform.

Victoria 3 returns in all its glory and does not tune down its difficulty level. It's not a game for all, but once mastered it shows a depth that only a few other titles can boast.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves finally arrives on PC in excellent shape, though not so excellent to hide its wrinkles.

Its richness in contents, its innovation in mechanics and excellent art style and soundtrack are what make Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope a game that challenges Japanese Nintendo productions. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is the best Nintendo Switch release in 2022, capable to surprise with its novelties and to meet the expectations of hardcore players.

Crema's ambitious MMO has clear ideas and manages to engage without too much difficulty.

This is not the usual Shovel Knight you'd expect. Yacht Club Games and Nitrome managed to throw the popular hero in an unusual situation that will entertain and challenge new players but also seasoned ones.

You Suck At Parking is a game like no others, one of those easy to learn and (really) hard to master. No real racing, just a straightforward set of inventive challenges in which you have to... park your car as quickly and accurate as possible.

Grounded is a great little adventure capable of entertaining for many hours, as long as you don't suffer from arachnophobia. The whole crafting and survival structure works, a little less the limited combat system, but the general experience manages to give truly unique moments.

Takayuki Yagami and his assistant Kato look even better on a PC porting that promises tens of hours of investigations, fightings and mysteries. But aside from higher graphic detail, it's the same game we reviewed last year, hence the same score.

The Legend of Heroes:Trails From Zero comes to the west for the first time since its original release on the PSP in 2010. A great remaster work covers textures, sprites, aspect ratio, frame-rate pop-in and obviously resolution. The game is smooth to play and gameplay aids help users to bypass long dialogues and accelerate battle encounters. A deep crafting system and a great story make this classic still enjoyable nowadays.

Soulstice finally brings a bit of Italy into the realm of hack 'n' slash, fully succeeding thanks to the excellent characterization of the game world and a layered and satisfying gameplay. Too bad for some problems with the room and an artistic sector not always up to par. It looks like one of the best surprises of the year.

NORCO is hauntingly beautiful. A surreal tale that is dystopic and futuristic but at the same time extremely rooted in the hopeless and sad reality of the suburban industrial areas of USA. A sort of a great acid trip that we won't soon forget.

Metal Hellsinger is a rhythmic FPS that has its roots in the typical imagery of heavy metal to offer players an adrenaline-pumping, fun and exciting experience. The soundtrack, composed by internationally renowned metal artists is the spearhead of the package and will remain stuck under your skin for weeks after playing the game.

Splatoon 3 is the culmination of Nintendo's experience with its squid-and-ink third-person shooter series. Fun, rich in content and graced by a bewitching technical appearance, the third installment of the series is a must have for fans but also an excellent entry point for newbies.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is a generous package full of nostalgia, Thirteen games from the Arcade, 8-16 bit and Game Boy eras and tons of gaming options, cheats and extras.

Brave but decidedly fascinating, I Was a Teenage Exocolonist is certainly not a title suitable for all palates, but which manages to transpose all the original elements of the classic role-playing games onto the screen in a truly convincing way. Featuring mature and by no means trivial themes, as well as an emotionally powerful soundtrack, I Was a Teenage Exocolonist can also count on a high replay value.

Did we really need it? Nope. Is it too expensive? Yes, it is. But who cares, it's a game of eternal beauty, and after this graphic overhaul it still wins against the majority of "new" triple A games on the market. Hands down.

Tinykin is a very simple game and this is its strong point. Intuitive and fun, the new Splashteams’ title is one of the most successful platformers in the recent times.

Sam Barlow builds a fascinating puzzle mixing game design and cinema by weaving a unique, complex storytelling that deeply explores Marissa Marcel’s life. A mind blowing experience.

Midnight Fight Express is a good-looking beat em up that draws heavily on classic action and hardboiled movies to create a far deeper fighting experience than expected. If you are craving a direct, challenging and full of possibilities action game, look no further.

Rollerdrome is a candidate as one of the best surprises of the year, a frenetic game full of style and personality. Above all, it encourages us to play and improve ourselves. Rollerdrome Is a full-blown stylish-TPS with a truly endless potential.

South of the Circle is an emotional narrative experience that manages to engage the player with a series of exciting events.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels is the expansion par excellence to take the crazy and fun driving model of the saga to the extreme. Playground Games, now an expert in this field, perfects additional content that can excite and keep us glued to the wheel once again.

Far better than the previous game in the series, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 delivers one of the more satisfying and flexible JRPG experiences ever made and Monolith confirms itself as one hell of (Switch) developer.

Live A Live is an outstanding remake of the game originally published in 1994. Its art style, music and sound effect perfectly merge with narratives while maintaining the same combat system and structure of the original version.

The Delicious Last Course is a delightful DLC that expands on the good things seen in the original Cuphead. The new playable character, Ms. Chalice, adds variety to the gameplay while the new bosses designed by Studio MDHR are all great fun to face. Offered at a price within everyone's reach, this additional package is an experience not to be missed.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is a splendid expansion for a game that is already very fun and very rich in content. The new monsters are very powerful and the new fighting techniques increase the variety of choice during the encounters. If you liked the original, you will love this DLC.

Outriders Worldslayer takes the formula of the base game and expands it in all directions, giving players a DLC with considerable content value. Some historical defects remain, such as a certain repetition, but fans of the brand will have hours of fun in which to sink their teeth.

Disgaea 6 Complete offers a substantial main quest and a very huge endgame, capable of entertaining both the veterans and the newbies of the brand. Furthermore, this release has the advantage of solving the various technical problems that plagued the Nintendo Switch version. Fun and challenging, the game is recommended for all lovers of tactical jrpg.

Action, platform, card-based FPS, visual novel and a little touch of Suda 51's style make this addictive speedrunner game a little gem with massive replayability.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a tribute to the classic arcade coin-op featuring the four hero turtles, a spiritual sequel to that beat’ em ups featuring modernized gameplay created by experts at Dotemu and developer Tribute Games. The game offers a story mode with progression and a genuine arcade mode with leaderboards online. Both of them can be played in co-op up to six players local or online, adding a lot of fun to an already good experience. You have to grab this game if you were a kid in the 90’s and love ninja turtles.

Action, platforming and RPG elements melt in this engaging souls-like Metroidvania enriched by a gorgeous pixel-art. You'd better keep it on your radar.

The violent and oppressive far future of Warhammer 40k has been beautifully recreated in Chaos Gate Demonhunters. The XCOMesque style of game play, both for the missions gameplay and for the base management, fits perfectly with the theme and the lore of this franchise. Very detailed graphics and superb soundtrack close the deal.

In a dystopian and dark world we will question the meaning of life and existence. An atypical RPG with interesting mechanics and a powerful and exciting story.

Rogue Legacy 2 is the perfect sequel of an already brilliant roguelite. It adds more depth and variety to a winning and enjoyable formula, exploring new ideas that were pretty absent in the preque. This time the game is both hard to master and easy to access: you don’t have to be a roguelite and metroidvania hardcore gamer to have a good time.

Action, roguelike, shifting levels, environmental puzzles “a la Tetris” and simple but clever combat mechanics. Despite some minor flaws, Loot River is definitely one of the best Indies of the year.

The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe is an adventure that continues to surprise after years. It is a journey into the human mind that manages to entertain, make people laugh and think at the same time.

MotoGP 22 evolves and convinces, focusing on the story of one of the most exciting seasons with Nine Season 2009 and improving the gameplay by introducing features that go further towards the simulation.

Revita is another roguelike action-platform that stands out thanks to some peculiar and intriguing gameplay mechanics.

Moss: Book II feels like a natural evolution of the first, charming game with new way to play with Quill and a more vast and interactive world. Not groundbreaking but still incredibly entertaining.

MLB The Show 22 refines its legacy and its well tested game modes, while adding some cool new features like online co-op play. You can play addicting Dynasty Mode with one or two friends and, for the first time in the series, there is cross-play and cross-platform support. While not adding anything revolutionary, cross-platform is the major sell point of this year edition, helping to build one cohesive community.

One of the best jRPG of the PSX era finally arrives in Europe after 23 years. And it does with a new look, new contents an re-arranged OST. Turn based combat could not please modern players, but with gameplay aids and hacks the frustration could be bypassed and you can access to a marvelous story with lots of nice characters to meet and some strong emotions to feel.

The biggest LEGO game ever made and certainly one of the best. A galaxy (far far away) of levels, challenges, characters and secrets... but still no online co-op.

Total War: Warhammer 3 is the perfect example of a sequel done well. All the elements of both Total War and Warhammer universe fused into a game of epic proportions. Some innovation in the variety of missions as well bring a bit more freshness in the gameplay. Graphics as usual stunning, with scenery that looks like frescos.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a gorgeous FPS/GDR, a must have for Borderlands saga fans who loved Tina as a character. Colorful, adrenalinic and full of challenges it takes places in a fantasy world where you’ll have to save everybody from the King of Dragons. Good luck, roll the dice and take the gun!

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the first ever full 3D Kirby game and a brilliant new chapter developed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series. You have to travel through a mysterious world jumping, flying, eating everything and absorbing and copying enemies’ abilities. A bunch of them return but there are brand new ones and an ability upgrading system. Mouthful mode allows Kirby to absorb larger objects like cars or vending machines that open the way to brilliant ideas and gameplay variety. There are a two-player local co-op mode and several items to collect, alongside a speedrun mode for secondary stages and a bunch of mini-games in the city. Even if the controls and camera angles are not always perfect, this is one of the most brilliant and joyful Kirby games ever made and a must buy for platform lovers.

Shinji Mikami's latest game is an engaging and mesmerizing trip into Japanese horror folklore.

Syberia The World Before revives the fortunes of the series after the not-so-brilliant previous chapter. The song of the swan by Benoit Sokal manages to touch the heart of gamers for the duration of the game.

Andrew Shouldice's Tunic is a little gem that mixes Zelda-like mechanics with light souls-like elements, inside a cryptic (maybe a little too much?) and fascinating story.

After the disaster of 2020, Visual Concepts and 2K Sports are back with WWE 2K22, a significantly improved game in every respect. The new control system, an incredible amount of content and the showcase mode dedicated to Rey Mysterio make this year's edition a must buy for WWE wrestling fans.

Ghostrunner Project Hel is a fun and even more dynamic DLC. We definitely recommend it.

Triangle Strategy is an excellent turn-based strategy RPG that borrows Octopath Traveler's HD-2D rendering technique to create a cohesive and fascinating high fantasy universe. The story is beautiful and full of twists, the gameplay is deep and full of possibilities. If you like the genre and you are not afraid of long dialogues, you cannot miss it.

What Square Enix has put together is a great karting game, with some good gameplay ideas that also try to detach the product from its very clear and inevitable source of inspiration. However, the mixture lacks some balance, especially in the balance between effort and reward.

Gran Turismo 7 represents everything a car lover could wish for. Perfect details and motorsport history are the ingredients that make up this product; on the other hand, the game's formula is getting old and there’s the need for bigger changes than better graphics.

Shadow Warrior 3 is a hilarious, violent shooter with a keen sense of humor. The gameplay is very similar to that of Doom Eternal but this cannot be considered as a flaw. Technically it is a bit backward and for some it may be too linear but it is still an experience that we recommend you try.

An enormous world which is always entertaining, an artistic and narrative coherence so strong that it reminds of Lordran, a sheer amount of content that is seriously overwhelming, and a near perfect concept design, make Elden Ring the best result that is possible to achieve within the “soulsborne” formula, with all its traditional strengths and weaknesses.

Without going around it too much, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is, to date, the definitive game dedicated to the collectible card game. Aside from some elements that will turn up your nose a little, such as the limit of only twenty decks, it provides players with all the tools necessary to explore and play Yu-Gi-Oh in the best way, all enriched by excellent animations and original elements, such as the lore of the archetypes, very appreciated. The future success of the game will depend exclusively on the update frequency that Konami will decide to adopt, but for how they are behaving today, we can only be satisfied.

More robotic creatures, a wider map, underwater missions and better graphics: Forbidden West is bigger and badder than Zero Dawn. Still, after five years the combat system is less appealing and the quality of life is no longer up to the standards. Guerrilla Games could have dared more, but the result is, anyway, worth your attention.

The King of Fighters XV is a deep and articulated fighting game that requires time and dedication to be mastered but that can provide great satisfaction. The roster is rich and varied and the technical sector is rather pleasant: we are facing one of the best exponents of the genre currently available on the market.

Supported by a fresh graphic style, and by an unexpected complexity of the level design of its tracks, OlliOlli World is a brilliant platform that you should not ignore in any way.

Supported by a stellar level design and an incredibly receptive story to the player's choices, Dying Light 2 is a very valid action open world RPG, which demonstrates how messy can be the development of beautiful games.

Nathan, Chloe and their sidekicks are back on the PS5. Their single-player adventures are still entertaining and now they have shorter loading times, shiny textures, three visual modes and some of that DualSense/Tempest sorcery.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a new beginning for the hit Nintendo series. It is not a perfect game and it suffers particularly from a technical point of view but it is certainly the most exciting Pokémon adventure for a few years now.

Fierce and hostile, Rainbow Six Extraction is a solid co-op shooter that updates Siege's phenomenal gunplay with lots of original new ideas.

Expeditions: Rome is a very niche third episode in the series. A tactical RPG that is both interesting and efficiently crafted not to bore the player with its lore but to engage him in its beautiful ancient Rome world.

This game surprises for its simplicity and, at the same time, for the complexity of some of its game mechanics. Nobody Saves The World is always fun, with nice characters and never boring fights (even if monsters are quite repetitive).

God of War is a masterpiece of storytelling, action and visual art style. Now that it is empowered by modern graphic cards (with fully customizable settings) for the joy of all PC users, there is literally no excuse not to play this title.

Monster Hunter Rise arrives on PC in dazzling form, complete with support for 4K resolution, unlocked frame-rate and ultrawide monitors. Too bad we’re not able to carry the old save into this new version that will force you to start all over again.

Wytchwood is a magical game that engages the player in a delightfully ZEN experience.

With its amazing main story and the immense amount of casual and hardcore activities, Final Fantasy XIV Online: Endwalker is consecrated as an exceptional and probably the best traditional MMORPG experience of the contemporary gaming market.

Exo One is at the same time more and less than an actual video-game. It's an out-of-body experience that brings the player across the stars for a couple hours, depycting the closest image to actual meditation we have ever seen.

Three games (and half) to celebrate over ten years of excellent thriller visual novels by Spike Chunsoft. The only new addition, Ultimate Summer Camp, is the weakest link of a shiny and highly attractive package.

The Gunk is a fun and engaging indie title with a simple and addicting gameplay. The environmental puzzles are many and always different, well implemented within the experience.

An intense, different and arcadey adventure for Shovel Knight, that will test you skills and will bring some fresh air to the puzzle genre.

Halo Infinite is an unexpectedly surprising game capable of mixing the past and the future of the series. There are still some refinements to be made but this is only the beginning of an epic adventure.

Chorus is a fun and exciting videogame, with a particular gameplay. It’s a small surprise from a development studio passionate of the sci-fi genre.

Solar Ash, the second work of Heart Machine, is an artistically stunning game with a pleasant and fun movement system that will captivate you from the very first moments to the end. Too bad that the combat has not enjoyed the same care and presents a level of challenge that may seem far too low.

Evil Genius 2 World Domination is a fun and satisfying experience, a very accessible and ironic management title.

Another captivating RPG by Joe Madureira and friends, this time in the League of Legends realm. Gorgeous and demanding, Ruined King needs just a little bit of tuning to become an unmissable one.

If you wish to spend another lifetime on Skyrim, this is the best way to do it. The Anniversary Edition brings more than 500 new items, quests and mods in the never-ending Bethesda's RPG.

Jurassic Park Evolution 2 is a bigger, better and more balanced management simulation, that runs through the entire cinematic franchise. If you enjoyed the first game, you will definitely enjoy this one.
