For puzzle game addicts, this is going to be a necessary purchase, but wait for the price to drop significantly.

Unless you’re a rabid series fan (do they still exist?) who will appreciate a graphical upgrade and a few gameplay tweaks, you’ll find this to be “just another Armored Core game”.

You can find better RPGs for the GBA, period. It's something of a diamond in the rough, it's just a bit too rough to recommend.

While improved in many ways, Untold Legends: The Warrior’s Code is still too generic to tell an emotionally-satisfying tale that can compete with Final Fantasy.

Check the three criteria above. If you fit all three, go for it. Otherwise, best stick to real coloring books.

A supremely wonderful adventure game with some dark subject matter. Though it has some faults, they are very small and don't really detract from the great story. Get this if you love a good mystery adventure.

Really a pretty fun game. Worth a rental at least. If you've got a kid, it's probably worth buying, especially if they enjoyed the movie.

MS Saga: A New Dawn is a sharp RPG that introduces the Mobile Suit franchise into the genre with style.

Repeating the same button-mashing gameplay of old and offering just about no other gametypes beyond ad hoc multiplayer, Samurai Warriors: State of War offers nothing new to the player to warrant any amount of time with the title.

It’s a quick ‘n easy port of the arcade and Dreamcast games, which may be enough for fans who want Crazy Taxi on the go, but those of us not blinded by nostalgia will be frustrated by the game’s shortcomings caused by the choice of platform and the simple onset of time.

The movements of the characters are nigh hilarious and detract from a true serious experience. If you don't get hung up on that, you will probably have just a grand ole time.

Y’s The Ark of Napishtim was an okay PS2 title. Now, it’s an okay PSP title with virtually nothing new to offer. At least the game’s low-res textures look better on PSP’s lower-res screen.

Only for long time Sega addicts. If Shining Force was you first RPG (mine was "Shining in the Darkness") there may be something for you here. With a huge RPG library on the PS2, there is no reason to play this very bland game.

A generic platformer with a movie license slapped on it, this better than most but a tiger cannot be expected to change its stripes.

If your young one really wants to play a mystery-solving game, get them Hotel Dusk or one of the Phoenix Wright games, which actually involve some problem-solving. If, however, your kid is a die-hard Nancy Drew fan, just get them one of the books – it’s cheaper and you don’t have to put up with shallow, boring gameplay to get to the story.

Spongebob’s Atlantis Squarepants is a good game that does justice to its license. It may not be quite on the same level as your average Mario game, but it’s still original and fun enough that fans of the show are sure to enjoy it.

You don't have to have watched every episode of each series in order to get enjoyment out of Star Trek: Legacy. If you're looking for a more action oriented game, this isn't it.

This isn’t an exceptionally bad game, but it is an extremely mediocre one. The movie is a must-see, but unless you’re a huge fan of the film (or desperate for a PSP platformer), you should stay away from this one.

At the core of this mess is a title that was once one of the best games on the GameCube, but it has since grown stale with age, has lost the perfect controls that helped to define it, and traded in elements of the presentation that worked for others that only make the game worse.

Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch isn’t a bad RPG, but its lack of freshness is a major strike against it. If you can get past that, you’ll find some fun to be had for a few dozen hours or so.
