It's a little easy, but otherwise, Avatar: The Last Airbender is a solid, well-put together game.
-
A solid effort, and fans of the series will definitely enjoy it. The lack of multiplayer is a big hit against it, especially in a game aimed at children and pre-teens.
-
Play MagazineIt's a prime example of the modern brand-endemic video game, focus-tested to death and then some. Whether you hold that against it or not is an individual decision. [Nov. 2006, p.83]
-
Stripped of its license, Avatar would be easily dismissed as yet another run of the mill hack-and-slash action RPG, but given the game's at least competent portrayal of the series, this is certainly a game that fans of the television show could enjoy, gripes notwithstanding.
-
Official Xbox MagazineNickelodeon may typically shoot for the young 'uns, but this cel-shaded RPG-ish action/adventure is loads of beat-'em-up fun for adults as well. [Holiday 2006, p.86]
-
I had high hopes, but I was let down.
-
Unlike the fun and entertaining television show, the game falls well short of greatness. As a straightforward beat-'em-up, the title seems to have the right formula, including solid control and a surprisingly intuitive character upgrade system.
