A solid turn-based roguelike with traditional rules, transparent, fair gameplay, and distinctive atmosphere resembling Doom. It becomes repetitive and monotonous in longer sessions, but it’s a perfect title to launch in between other games. [10/2021, p.51]

Eastward is pretty and at first glance seems to have everything a good RPG needs, but its boring story and drawn-out conversations between clichéd characters made it harder to enjoy. [12/2021, p.58]

If I were to rate the original game after all these years, I would still give it 9 out of 10. The elements added to the Enhanced Edition would score 6,5, maybe 7 on a good day. [01/2014, p.46]

For me it’s more of a prototype, a demonstration of a living open world and some clever gameplay mechanics. There is not enough of real game in it and on the other hand too many various bugs, nuisances and repetitiveness. Whether you’ll enjoy State of Decay depends on how much you like sandbox games and looking for fun on your own. [CD-Action 08/2013, p.74]

Inkulinati fits very well in the turn-based strategy genre but at the same time stands out with its distinct style and charm. The satirical approach to the convention is strongly evident, but is not over the top.

Autosport tries hard to bring back the glory of the first GRID (e.g. the cockpit cam returns) but the career mode was designed horribly, the game engine is aging and the whole thing lacks a spark. [08/2014, p.66]

It’s not the second coming of Christ, it’s merely another good product in a different wrapping. Ghosts is a great FPS but this time it’s not necessarily a great Call of Duty game. [13/2013, p.46]

A 15-year old title brought back as a tasty appetizer for those who can’t wait for the second part of the new Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a very good remake with an addictive combat system. You can tell it’s a smaller-scale game designed for PSP, but it was remade with love and although it won’t change anyone’s life, Final Fantasy VII fans will definitely enjoy it.

MSFS 24 was not a pleasant experience at first - fortunately things are looking better now and although there are still some issues, this highly advanced flight sim looks really good. Provided you have a powerful computer and a stable internet connection.

It’s the best Worms game in recent years, maybe even the best ever. It goes beyond rehashing fun from previous renditions and adds some cool new weapons and ideas. [11/2016, p.60]

Retro visuals, chiptune soundtrack, faithfulness to standards set by Metroid. It’s not a game to remember for the years to come, but it is a beautiful example of how some ideas never get old. [01/2018, p.60]

It’s a good effort to introduce the series to a new generation of gamers. Beautiful music and an accessible difficulty level should guarantee time pleasantly spent for anyone who feels like jumping around a bit, especially younger kids (naïve story and childish art style might annoy older players) and those who are new to video games.

The best racing game I’ve played in a long time. It’s fast, beautiful and extremely rewarding. Still there are better titles out there, including the unforgettable first Grid. [CD-Action 07/2013, p.70]

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden aims high, attempting to reach the level of AAA titles. It borrows the combat system and exploration from God of War, side quests from The Witcher, and a whole lot from some slightly worse high-budget games. The result is really good and the storyline in particular shines through – even if it could have been more emotional, it puts emphasis on not-so-easy decisions.

The variety of weapons is once again Dead Rising’s biggest strength, but despite it being a sandbox game it quickly reveals all its secrets and becomes tedious. [03/2014, p.60]

Colorful, pretty scenery, decent voice acting, lots of interactive objects, and a couple of interesting puzzles give the impression that the game has more to offer than it actually does. The atmospheric first half is good, but the repetitive second part disappoints. The plot makes no sense and the direction it takes is predictable to anyone acquainted with Lovecraft’s work. The further you go, the narrower the path is and you bump into invisible walls all the time. It’s a shame the game’s considerable potential was squandered. [02/2021, p.60]

I did not enjoy the new PES. Players are unresponsive, their AI is weak, refereeing is sometimes questionable and the automatic passing system often annoying. Match commentary is simply awful. There is almost nothing new in the modes department and as usual team licenses are a problem. But there is a good new engine at last (along with new physics system) and I see some hope for the series in the future. [12/2013, p.50]

It is fascinating how the gameplay intensifies in response to players interactions with the environment. Just a few moving balls and once dead and abandoned room changes into a deadly arena. Though it shines at the beginning, with time the game loses some of its initial charm. [12/2019, p.59]

A great horror game was turned into a decent co-op shooter. Dead Space 3 is well-made but the uniqueness of the series is gone. Was that really the goal? [CD-Action 04/2013, p.66]

It is truly impressive that you have the whole planet to explore and build over. What caught my attention in the first place, was the deep, realistic simulation of terraforming, but unfortunately the game turned out to be tedious and boring. I also wish I could manage my settlements better and plan their development in details, as the only decisions I got to make were where to place the structures and how to prioritize them. The rest is up to autonomous drones. [02/2021, p.34]

I like a lot about Roguebook: the combat system that gives you loads of possibilities despite being simple; revealing the map through "painting” it with brushes and ink that you find along the way; enhancing your cards with crystals that modify their effects. You just feel it’s not a debut project but a very solid game created by developers who have card-based gameplay down to a science. [09/2021, p.50]

The latest Tropico's sole problem is the fact that the visuals are not very different from the previous game in the series. Other than that it's an immensely absorbing title and the built-in editor along with the ability to share user created scenarios will guarantee its longevity. [October, p.42]
