Transformers: Devastation is by far and away the best video game interpretation of this most beloved of franchises and a timely reminder (if one was needed), of just how good Platinum Games are when it comes to fast-paced action games.

The pacing of the narrative works well and kept me wanting to push forward and find out more. I would certainly recommend this game if you like point and click adventure games or like narrative driven games that have slightly darker and mature themes, but still manages to have moments of humour.

The soundtrack works perfectly with the game itself.

Solid sound, excellent graphics for what it is, fair writing.

At £14.99 this game is a solid investment for time and money. Get ready to use your brain and your senses, or else be prepared to get killed on the regs by unseen enemies – that’s right, there was no ‘killcam’ in the 1940s…

While Aviary Attorney may not be the most original piece of media on the surface, deep down it is easily one of the most enjoyable games of the year so far. The game itself is a compliment to the assets it uses. Maybe there are a few cringe worthy puns here or there, but ultimately I think this game is worthwhile to anyone who gets a chance to play it.

For anyone looking for an intelligent, challenging and yet accessible adventure game Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse comes highly recommended. Definitely worth giving a try.

The graphics look great, with very vibrant colours throughout the game. It’s fun to play, nice to look at and there’s a good number of laughs. It’s not a serious game, nor is it a triple A title; But it is fun.

Ar nosurge Plus: Ode to an Unborn Star makes you work for your rewards, but put in the effort and you will be remunerated handsomely.

It is the best visual novel I have read in a long time.

The Keep is an engrossing, pocket-sized dungeon-crawler that, despite being somewhat overly familiar, is a genuine pleasure to play. If you’re on the look-out for a healthy dose of nostalgia, or hankering for a slow, methodical crawl through the cruel, dark depths of arachnid-infested dungeons, then The Keep may well be just what the witch doctor ordered.

A great little game. If the idea a relaxing puzzle game with intense visuals and a wonderful soundtrack appeals to you then I highly recommend it. A real pleasure.

Furi is a fine blend of reaction timed combat and twin stick shooter that doesn’t fail to impress. It’s a punishingly tough game for all the right reasons, with an enemy variety that keeps you guessing and learning as you progress.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 still has the fast, smooth and responsive gameplay of the first title in this offshoot series, but it takes a lot of work to get to the meat and potatoes of the game.

Shipwrecked builds on the formula of the original and Reign of Giants without losing any of the magic, frustration and a justified, unadulterated fear of forests. The most obvious change is the island setting. Your starting islet dictates how your first few days will fair, some are barely big enough to feed you and provide you with the materials for a raft, while others are huge sprawling things with food and forests galore.

It’s a very solid game that will challenge you but it’s not cheap or unfair.

SteamWorld Dig is a polished and (mostly) a well designed experience that I recommend. With some major flaws in the narrative that is predictable and never reaches it’s full potential. But held up by great addicting game play and flawless presentation with a style not seen in many games. In short…I dig it.

Its gameplay is marred by the scoring system, the off-key notes, lack of song variety, and the amount of distractions. Being a rhythm game, that’s too great a toll.

Everything about this game feels thought out and sculpted with the player’s enjoyment in mind.

There’s a hell of a lot in this game that’s good, and in some cases is really good, and that’s the stuff that really stays with you after you shut the game down. This is a great example of genuinely good ideas being put into practice in a way that’s well done, if not perfect. A lot could have gone badly wrong with this game, and, for my money, it’s a damn impressive game and well worth a play.

Quest of Dungeons is an awesome little rogue-like game that was much better than I expected. The game isn’t hugely long..., but it doesn’t need to be.

Toki Tori 3D is a fun budget 2D platformer with good level design combined with charming visuals which makes this a must-have for puzzle enthusiasts.

Obduction is a masterpiece of its genre.

I cant recommend this game enough simply for the experience of a totally unique game unrivalled in the games from the past, present and future. A must buy for those wanting an emotional connection to the developers themselves.

It might not have the depth to match Street Fighter or Tekken, but there is still plenty here for both casual and hardcore fans of the genre to enjoy.

All in all the game brings a few new things to the old table and gives it a slightly fresher look and appeal, like clearing out a slightly messy cupboard.

With its fantastic soundtrack, gorgeous visuals and sky high production values, Yo-Kai Watch belies its years to deliver one of the better looking game on the Nintendo 3DS. It’s unlikely to match Pokémon’s success in the West, but judged upon its own merits, this is one of the better 3DS games released in the last few years and a genuine match for the ever-popular Pokémon franchise.

Deponia Doomsday is a great point and click adventure game that looks impressive and runs well. The story is pretty straightforward and the mini games are extremely fun.
