Too many bugs and technical shortcomings keep this nightmare deep in the sea.

Refunct seems to be the beginning of something great and in its current state it seems to be lacking a little individuality. Refunct does have some really solid aspects, the player movement and flow is honestly enjoyable. Multiple jumps all flow naturally into one another supported with a smooth pull up mechanic to let you reach higher ledges.

Mind Zero on Steam is a rather poor port of an unpolished dungeon crawler. The initial game had promise, but ultimately fell flat with gameplay that is underwhelming and often tedious. But, even so, there is fun to be had if you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers, or even of RPG’s set in present-day Japan. The story is genuinely entertaining, with characters that are fun to interact with. The soundtrack is fantastic, and really sets the mood, too.

The Minotaur Maze offers a fun experience by allowing the player to manipulate the environment to defeat the Minotaurs. The game gives charming sound design through upbeat techno music that mixes well with graphics of the game. However, those who are looking for puzzle and strategy will be disappointed by the games fast pace and tedious gameplay.

Near Earth Objects is not a bad game, but it doesn’t really offer anything new to the table other than the ability to continue and thus actually complete an Asteroids style game. In the long run it will inevitably sink into the ever-expanding ocean of forgotten indies that we have now gotten so used to.

My score for this barely scrapes average and does so only due to the fantastic music and artistic environments.

It is not a terrible experience in any way shape or form, but it is an experience that you will come to tire from a bit too quickly for the money you will pay.

The battles can be fun and reminded me of the old school Mortal Kombat game. What I didn’t love was that if you die you have to redo the entire battle all over again.

It’s grasping for an identity that it sometimes reaches thanks to the original music and sound effects, but is ultimately torn from its goal by uninspired visuals, tedious gameplay and a stubborn reliance on the roots of horror clichés.

With its unique aesthetic, welded to a speed-runner style blueprint, I can totally see the allure of Lovely Planet. Unfortunately, my memories of Lovely Planet are mostly frustrating ones: cheap enemies, bland shooting and floaty controls really drag Lovely Planet down. The ingredients for a great shooter maybe there somewhere in Lovely Planet, but like the cheap, nasty enemies that the game throws at you, they seem to be hidden behind a wall somewhere, completely out of sight. It is cute, though. I’ll give it that.

There are some mild laughs and interesting puzzles, also the retro feel is nice if a little simple but the gameplay is bland and repetitive.

Momonga Pinball Adventures try’s to be an original, exciting story laid out in a pinball mechanic, however the lack of levels, disappointing difficulty and price when compared to its mobile counterpart all are too much for this little squirrel to handle. Sure there are a few minuscule moments where you actually get some fun, but it is not nearly enough, making this an unnecessary port. Trust me when I say it’s better to let this one roll straight past you.

Gryphon Knight Epic has potential. It was a good idea and the dialogue isn’t horrible. Overall though the game just isn’t that good.

A slightly less than average game, where you can potentially have an average amount of fun, and feel an average amount of anger at the masochism involved in your 6th death on the same level. But without any form of connection to, or caring about, the characters, this game just becomes a “could have been”.

I guarantee you will love this game when you play it. I guarantee you won’t understand why brashgames.co.uk has rated this game so mediocrely, but I also guarantee that you will not play this game for more than 10 hours.

Aaru’s awakening is a gorgeous game with a great story. Due to the sheer difficulty of the game, replayability is very low. Once I got through each level, especially the boss level, I did not want to go back and play it again. As a matter fact it makes you lose interest in the game period.

Ocean Runner seem’s like an original take on one of the most overused genres, although invest some time and you can tell Gilbert is out of his depth. The familiar yet fun gameplay and addictive power ups unfortunately do not make up for the misplaced music, drab storyline and lack of replay value. Ocean runner does not sink or swim but it does float.

I just wanted to be more involved and play as these characters with fantastic abilities. While special powers, gods and demons are nothing really new, the themes within Tokyo Babel could make an awesome video game, as a digital manga, it’s somewhat average.

Perfect Angle was a bit of a disappointment for me. I felt like it had so much potential when I watched the trailer, but ultimately it lacks polish and gets bogged down with gimmicks and a subpar plot.

Dino Dini’s Kick Off Revival is a disappointing football game that has tried to embrace its roots but simply doesn’t play very well. I really wanted to like this game but the gameplay issues and lack of detail makes it a chore to play.

Empire TV Tycoon is a solid built but poorly executed management sim with little thought to real life values of a TV station. Its disregard for diversity and insistence on forcing reruns of old movies into your schedule are odd omissions that force the game to grow old quickly. Its core works just fine, but just like its schedule Empire TV is a shallow entry without enough top quality trimmings.

Zero Reflex is a game that offers fun for a couple of hours. With the Black Eye edition, the game has more visual eye candy and more content but ultimately still suffers from the flawed punishment system which becomes repetitive and frustrating.

The challenge presented may be of interest to a select few, but most gamers will pass on Heart & Slash. This is a shame, as I am a huge Indie game fan. But I don’t see myself venturing back into this title.

Arcade Archives Ikki is not the best the era or the collection by HAMSTER has to offer. It is a well-made game and a decent enough port. But it does not compete with so many other titles from both the era and this collection.
