For all its sloppy seconds and used structures, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed in the end that the developer didn’t try to evolve beyond just being another clone.

If you’re looking for a fun and chaotic game to play with friends or online, you’ve found the one. It’s fast-paced, it’s intense and it’s a lot of fun to get stuck into. While £11.99 might seem like a steep price for the game, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Whether it will garner the kind of global success that it deserves remains to be seen, but as it stands, an argument could be made for King of Fighters XIV being the finest brawler of the generation.

The Castle Game is a fun, well designed tower defence game that should be added to your collection if you want all the defend your castle thrills without the cash grab that is usually associated with the genre.

Definitely the best workshop add-on so far simply due to the scale of it and the additional story.

Despite never particularly excelling, Bear With Me is a perfectly satisfying little adventure game. Point and click fans who’ve been starved off quality titles of late will be well entertained for the brief period it lasts, and future episodes will hopefully be a bit more expansive as the action relocates from Amber’s house to the streets of Paper City.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 1: The Order of the Stone is a charming game full of vibrant environments and unique characters that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults.

Honestly, if you are a new gamer on the scene and just want to play a puzzle game, you can find so many better ones just through a Google search. But if you are a gamer, looking for a short but wild trip down memory lane, sprinkled with British pop culture history and references to some absolute classics, this game is worth a purchase.

This is one of the best games I’ve played in years, it seems to have been made to the specifications of my exact sensibilities. But I’d be remiss to not mention how essentially damaged the finer points are.

Overall I really enjoyed my time with Retro City Rampage DX is this is the best way to play the game, with slight improvements to the controls and game difficulty.

While I do personally really enjoy the game and all it has to offer, I feel that it just isn’t worth over £10.

With over 80 hours of gameplay, Wastelands 2: The Director’s cut is a challenging but ultimately rewarding adventure. It’s a pleasant blend of Baldur’s gate adventure and XCOM combat that actually works really well.

It’s not the deepest or the most challenging stealth game out there and there are times when it can feel like an additional mode for a larger, more elaborate video game, but for the most part, Volume is a highly entertaining stealth game that puts immediacy and accessibility above elaborate gadgets or mechanics.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is a great game and it can be even more further down the line, it is definitely worth a purchase for all classic Homeworld fans looking for nostalgia or those looking for a new RTS it is a very good option all around.

It might not have a ton of content, it’s still lacking online play of any kind and the fact that there are only a handful of stadiums to choose from will certainly be an issue for some, but what is here is almost universally fantastic with the brilliant fundamentals combining beautifully with an array of minor but nearly always effective details to create what is a polished and incredibly likeable sports game.

It has a strong narrative which I enjoyed, and there is lots to explore in terms of notes. The graphics look really good, and overall it was an interesting experience.

Minor design hiccup aside, Blood Bowl 2 is an otherwise resounding success that does enough to please fans of the board game while delivering enough in the way of exciting and accessible gameplay to make this a genuine option for those with no prior interest in the Warhammer brand.

It’s a fun little shooter with some good replay value trying out different weapon configurations and finding all the blueprints. It’s a tad short for the price in terms of its main story, but the nature of the game means it’d be easy for 17-Bit to add extra content in the future to keep it fresh.

If you’re new to runners, maybe start with a cheap or free phone app like Temple Run, but if you’re a gamer who enjoys the fun of a runner, it’s definitely worth buying.

This game is enjoyable, especially in co-op with a friend where one player can take on the role of spy and the other, hacker. However if you’re a gamer who has a specific focus on graphics and you cannot look past the flaws then it might not be the best game at least until the game is (hopefully) polished up a little.

While it’s over sooner than you’d like, Gunman Clive 2 is a gorgeous little indie game regardless of if you’ve played the first title or not. The gorgeous level design and constant variety make this a short burst of challenging fun that every 3DS owner should own.

The most inventive seemed to be the BB-8 mini-game which unfortunately was let down by clunky movement and irresponsive controls.

It might not be the perfect reimagining of the series that fans have been hoping for, but Gauntlet: Slayer Edition is about as close as anyone has come to delivering the contemporary Gauntlet of our dreams.

Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek is a great addition to the hidden objects puzzle solving genre and one that we’ll be playing for a long time.

My time so far with Elite Dangerous: Horizons has been amazing. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this game and was blown away by the scope of it. I usually like a game to have a strong narrative, but this game is heavily focused on exploration, which it absolutely nails. The game looks amazing, plays well and I’m excited to see how the game develops over the coming months.

It didn’t do much in terms of being unique, but it did have a very interesting and intense narrative. The only thing that irritated me was the loading problem, but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the overall episode.

With its sprawling story, not to mention the array of side missions available when Shadowrunning, Shadowrun: Hong Kong is a huge game, with mystery at the heart of everything. Its stunning visuals won’t tax your hardware too much, meaning that it can run on PCs half a decade old without much in the way of performance issues, and its open-ended gameplay means that no two playthroughs will be the same.

Blizzard and their team seem to have struck gold with a perfect combination of class based, team-centric first person shooting with their latest entry in their storied career. They show that in an era of overpriced and overwrought online only first person shooters, Overwatch stands out above the fray, to deliver a meaningful, competitive experience sure to last for years to come.
