In development for nearly a decade, Owlboy has somehow managed to get every single thing right. From amazing storytelling to great characters, detailed pixel-art visuals to fluent gameplay, everything in this game is just the way it should be. Easily one of the best 2D platformers ever.

With the release of Stories on Xbox, Capcom has made it clear that this spin-off series is more than just a minor side project. Bringing these two remastered entries to the platform is meant to familiarize Xbox players, especially JRPG enthusiasts and fans of the Monster Hunter universe, with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. This could be the moment when the series evolves into something akin to Pokémon, a continually expanding and evergreen franchise. Each new creature added to the mainline games can become a fresh Monstie in Stories, giving the series the potential to grow into a self-sustaining ecosystem of its own.

Playing the games that you have a lot of memories with is always fun, especially if it's with upgraded visuals. If you recently played Yakuza 6 or the remastered version of Yakuza 2, you might not be that amazed with this collection's visuals, but it's still a nice addition to the series for the fans.

Creating a strong roguelike experience is never an easy task, and while Deadzone: Rogue is far from perfect, particularly in its level design, it still delivers a thrilling and engaging shooter, demonstrating real potential and making it clear that Prophecy Games is moving in the right direction.

Borderlands 3 is fun and entertaining, without a doubt, but it's not a revolutionary title like its predecessors, and everything we see here we already saw in the last two games.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is a battle against time. Story is surely great, and we love all the characters, and a lot of nostalgia is there for the die hard fans of the series, but on the other side, the visuals and gameplay mechanics are dated and can't be compared with even mediocre 8th gen titles. In the end, FFVIIIR is nothing more than a game built to take full advantage of the hype set by FFVIIR.

Dynasty Warriors: Origin offers thrilling gameplay, wild combos, and massive-scale battles that define the series. However, the game's incomplete story is a noticeable blemish. It feels as though a significant chapter is missing, leaving players with unanswered questions and a sense of dissatisfaction. Despite this narrative flaw, the core combat loop remains incredibly engaging.

Ruiner features an extremely fun and exciting combat alongside various weapon types, satisfying boss fights and tons of other stuff. But all in all, it is the games incredibly engaging atmosphere that makes the difference.

As a video game, NBA 2K18 is great. Smooth gameplay, beautiful visuals, expert sound design and tons of new and exciting features is all that a sports fan wants. But the fact that 2K is trying to force the players to spend money in the game is so annoying that could seriously put the future of this great title in danger.

DiRT Rally 2.0 aims for professional racing players, and gives them everything they want. DiRT 2.0's gameplay is ultra realistic and Codemasters paid a good attention to all the details. All that said, it seems that Codemasters is running out of ideas and while DiRT 2.0 is a solid racing game, there is not much that we haven't already saw in previous entries in the series.

The Sinking City is obviously not a complete open-world action adventure title, but it offers enough to keep you engaged with some solid story and atmosphere, great characters, wonderful modeling of the city of Oakmont, and that strange feeling that you would expect from H.P. Lovecraft works. If you can skip past some of the game's shortcomings, you'll get to experience something that you never did before.

9 years in development and expectations were high when Owlboy came out; and it didn’t disappoint. While gameplay is very classic and simple and story doesn’t have lots to say, visuals and music are where the game really shines. Easily one of the best platformers of the year, if not ever.

The Origami King is the best entry in the Paper Mario series, and probably one of the best Nintendo Switch exclusives if we don't consider its rather weak combat system. Intelligent Systems did a great job in telling a new Mario story using Origami characters, and mixing it with funny moments, exploration and diverse environments.

Ancient Gods is not necessarily a bad expansion pack, but the original DOOM Eternal was so good and even small changes in the wrong direction can hurt the experience. In Ancient Gods case, the uneven difficulty and confusing story seem to be those wrong changes that topple DOOM Eternal from the top a little bit.
