God of War: Ragnarök is an unforgettable journey filled with epic and intimate moments that can range from slaying one of Asgard's gods, to how deep and complex the relationship between father and son is. Supporting all this, we have a brilliant action and adventure game that surpasses its predecessor in everything and that also teaches what are standards when we talk about a super production within the medium. Game of the Year Candidate? Of course, probably the only tangible and realistic rival to everything that Elden Ring achieved a few months ago. The closure of this new saga of Kratos is one that has achieved and far exceeded our expectations and that, of course, makes it a jewel of what Sony has achieved in recent years with its first party developments.

The evolution of video games has been long and, at times, painful. Undoubtedly, one of the most important turning points was when we made the leap to 3D in the mid-1990s, which, for many, left 2D games as a thing of the past. This change brought with it profound consequences, such as a severe setback in design; video game design had to be learned almost from scratch. Fortunately for all of us, the knowledge acquired before that eventuality was quickly revisited, and today we find ourselves in a much more mature era where both styles can coexist seamlessly and even combine in crazy new ways. Hollow Knight: Silksong feels largely like the result of so much experience...Hollow Knight: Silksong largely represents the best of this form of entertainment that we are so passionate about, this in the midst of a difficult crisis for the industry that is looking everywhere to reinvent itself to become profitable again and of course, not stop this unstoppable cascade of creativity that year after year gives us great experiences on all fronts. Almost out of nowhere, this small group of Australians returns to deliver one of the most special video games I have played in a long time at a price that still sounds ridiculous to many, precisely when the conversation on this matter has taken on very intense overtones due to the sustained rise in the price of these products.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a game different enough for those who enjoyed the 2019 installment to admire the evolution that Kojima Productions presents this time around. However, those who didn't connect with the PS4 title will hardly be convinced by what the sequel has in store for us, and that's okay. As spectacular as this game is, it will still divide the community and, like any good work of art, will spark conversations of all kinds. Hideo Kojima has done it once: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is one of the best experiences of the current generation, and something that defines video games as more than just entertainment. It's a message for today's world, a love letter to the medium, and an exploration of our capacity to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

Bloodborne allows us to experience the gravity of a world in decay, without losing the goofiness of ragdoll physics and pulling a whole arsenal out of our pockets. Just the impeccable gameplay and the excellent art direction makes this game one of the best in this decade.

Mario Kart World kicks off the Switch 2 in a practically flawless way, presenting an experience that not only showcases several of the new hardware's capabilities but also revolutionizes the very traditional way of doing things within the series it represents. While the open world wasn't exactly what we expected, the core of the racing experience is one of the most polished and well-executed projects in the company's history. The achievements in control, mechanics, level design, and audiovisual presentation set a new standard that we believe none of its competitors will come close to matching. The king of karting is back.

What Capcom is currently doing might seem simple, but besides seeing established companies completely lose their way, the entire industry is experiencing an air of bewilderment and uncertainty, especially regarding big-budget productions. Resident Evil Requiem is proof of many things, such as the franchise's great importance within the industry, making it clear that there is a path for AAA titles to move forward safely and profitably for those who manage the business side...A spectacular story that reconnects with the origins of the entire saga, an innovative yet classic gameplay system that perfectly modulates its pace, and a truly next-generation audiovisual presentation are just some of the elements that make Resident Evil Requiem a very serious contender for Game of the Year 2026. Capcom is on the right track with one of its flagship series and has given us a memorable adventure that will be widely discussed in the future and that, of course, places it among the highlights of this franchise.

While it's ridiculous that PlayStation Studios only delivers one or two games a year, Ghost of Yōtei is the perfect example of how teams like Sucker Punch are true masters of their craft. The title does everything a sequel should, and the result is one of the best experiences of the year. While the title isn't perfect, Atsu's journey is captivating, and it makes clear that this anthology model the studio has created has the potential to expand indefinitely.

There’s only one word to describe Fire Emblem Conquest: Amazing. It retakes all the good aspects from Fire Emblem Awakening, its predecessor, and polishes them in some way that puts all of the elements that made this a game great in a new dimension, almost touching perfection. Also its difficulty level is one of the pillars that make this version stand in front of the other. For quite some time now, whenever a new Forza Horizon title is announced, we can be almost entirely certain that we will be treated to a very solid racing experience—one that also allows us to explore some exotic region of the world. Playground Games understands its own formula to perfection, and—at least so far—it has managed to successfully evolve it with each successive release. This first look at Forza Horizon 6 demonstrates that this trend is set to continue; while this is great news on one hand, it leaves us longing for something new and distinct for the series on the other.
