In any case, Guerrilla Games is delivering a game that lives up to the enormous expectations that were held and, therefore, a clear candidate to become Game of the Year.

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation is a fantastic way for concluding the incredible war story that enveloped the Hoshido and Nohr Family. Albeit it can be played without the need to have completed neither the Birthright nor Conquest versions, it is highly recommended - save this one for the last so you can enjoy at its fullest all of the contents and augments that are exposed here. Easily a great way to conclude with this memorable tale.

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door for Switch is practically the same classic that appeared 20 years ago on Gamecube, without alterations that feel great in terms of gameplay. However, that is not bad at all, in fact the phrase “if it ain't broke, don't fix it” applies very well here, as the magic that many of us experienced in our youth is preserved.

Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void concludes the story arc of this saga in an epic way. Great campaign missions with memorable story moments, the addition of two new co-op game modes and interesting new multiplayer units, makes this third installment a must have to every RTS fan.

If Resident Evil 4 is a crown, Separate Ways is the jewel that complements it, and thus we can close this arc that will probably lead us to a new version of the fifth main game of this franchise.

Legion is the best expansion ever made for World of Warcraft. It's story, characters, new game mechanics and new class, makes it a fresh, different and dynamic game. Must have.

Doom Eternal is the perfect evolution of the classic FPS series from id Software. Finally, Bethesda is delivering a game that we deserved. We have a GOTY contender.

Nex Machina is exciting, addictive and challenging, a must have for all arcade shooter fans. We loved its level design and the perfect mix of gameplay mechanics combined with a clean presentation and vibrant soundtrack. It’s without doubt one of the best Housemarque games.

Nioh is impressive in a lot of ways offering us beautiful challenging levels and a deep customizable experience. Even with the comparisions with Souls franchise, Nioh is a tremendous fun title full of personality, Team Ninja developed a memorable game with a brilliant combat system and solid gameplay mechanics.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a very complete title, as it has a large number of missions to complete, tasks to discover and two maps that make the first installment fall short. Add to that a challenging difficulty that may be to the liking of those who demand a lot from these games.

DMC5 is not perfect and has faults that keep it from being a memorable title as it has constant loading screens, problems with its camera and a modest variety of content in terms of replay. But outside of these, we have no doubt that it is a great action title that has everything to be among the best of the year.

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is a major expansion that may not be completely necessary to fully enjoy the game. Still, it adds a whole bunch of content and fills some plot holes that were left unsolved in the original game.

Persona 3 Reload is the game that all fans of the series have been waiting for since Persona 5 Royal. Thanks to all its mechanics, improvements and narrative, this is the perfect entry point for the series. For those who have never experienced a game in the franchise beyond the fifth installment, this is the title you need in your lives. This experience presents us with a story focused on finding the beauty in our lives, in memories, and the meaning we give to each interaction with other people. Along with this, each of the small vignettes are very worthwhile, since they reinforce the messages of the main campaign, and offer a series of moments with a good range of emotions.

XCOM 2 expands all the great gameplay mechanics that we enjoyed in past games of the series. All kinds of emotions await you in this great tactical game about making hard decisions. No major problems with the console version, a few framerate issues and maybe longer loading times but nothing that really hurts the core experience.

Injustice 2 is a great sequel for Gods Among Us. NetherRealm Studios took a pretty safe road with this title in terms of gameplay mechanics, but the little changes they made work perfectly. A great story, good loot box system and a solid multiplayer, make this experience worthwhile.

The Witness gathers an incredible amount of puzzles scattered in an open world that many times surpasses the boundaries of the video game. Even though it's not as climatic as its predecessor, it respects the player as an intelligent being.

An awesome combat system that doesn't achieve it's full potential thanks to procedural generated levels.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is proof that although we can have great projects with very high production values, innocence still has a place in this medium full of magic.

After 2 years and many additions and changes, Capcom finally sends us a new version of Street Fighter V, one that includes all the content that has been launching for the title since it came out to market on 2016 as well as some new and well acclaimed additions that makes this feel like the real game that should had launched from the beginning.

Astral Chain is the next step in the hack & slash genre. PlatinumGames created a true masterpiece that everyone should play. Another epic addition for the Nintendo Switch's exclusives library.

A great new entry for a cult classic. Guilty Gear Strive is one the most impressive games in terms of graphics that you can found out there. Also, it is a pretty solid fighting game.

Just as it was in 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is positioned as a must-see game, and something that JRPG fans have to play no matter what, even in a year where this genre has not stopped giving us some of its best modern exponents.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is one of the best games of the year. There's no doubt about it. Lizardcube are geniuses, and they've proven that any SEGA franchise has the potential to make a spectacular comeback, as long as it's in their hands. So, the only question remains: when will they give Golden Axe the same treatment?

Pikmin 4 is simply a brilliant game that has far exceeded all my expectations. Its impressive level design, refined core gameplay, enchanting story, and extremely sophisticated audiovisual presentation make it a game that is very hard not to enjoy and one that can hardly be found with serious errors. Nintendo and the team that Miyamoto left in charge of his highly prized creation, understood perfectly what makes the series so special and in a way that I frankly don't understand, they found clear areas for improvement and innovation to deliver a well-rounded experience.

Final Fantasy XVI is not only one of the best games of the year, it is one of the best role-playing titles made in Japan in a long time and, therefore, one of the most important exponents of the legendary franchise to which it belongs, thanks to to great production values and clear ideas that kept its development cycle on the right path, a matter that of course, leads to a tremendously solid video game that, despite not being perfect, undoubtedly has virtues that strongly outweigh its defects.

Sony is delivering just what was promised. No more no less. It will be up to each person to decide whether to support or not.

It's also very important to highlight Konami's work in choosing the right team to play such an important title so loved by the community. Needless to say, we're facing one of the great experiences of 2024 that, regardless of whether or not you played the original at the time, you have to give it a chance. Somehow, the Poles have managed to make both old veterans of the mythical saga and horror genre, as well as those who are completely new, more than satisfied.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is not only one of the most beautiful JRPGs from this decade, but it's a one of a time experience. With this Remastered version, LEVEL 5 confirms the game as a unique experience for gamers, despite featuring only a few presentation improvements.

The king of karting is back.

In short, Nioh 3 surpasses its predecessors in scope, mechanics, and technical polish, while retaining almost everything that made Nioh and Nioh 2 special.

The wait was worth it. Bayonetta 3 is one of the best experiences of the year, and a clear example of what makes PlatinumGames games special.

While it's ridiculous that PlayStation Studios only delivers one or two games a year, Ghost of Yōtei is the perfect example of how teams like Sucker Punch are true masters of their craft. The title does everything a sequel should, and the result is one of the best experiences of the year. While the title isn't perfect, Atsu's journey is captivating, and it makes clear that this anthology model the studio has created has the potential to expand indefinitely.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is, easily, the definitive edition of FFXII. It offers the same great adventure that many played and loved on PS2 and enhances it with many elements and additions that improve the overall experience. However, even with all of these, the game cannot avoid showing some aspects that look like little bit aged. Nevertheless, all of them are minimal and do not significantly affect the game by any means.

If you've tried the 3DS version, I'd say don't wait any longer and pick it up on any of the platforms where it's available, as you're likely to get hooked on its fantastic simplicity. Meanwhile, if you didn't get to play the first one, but this kind of RPG is more your thing, I also recommend it. I swear you'll become a fan.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a great fighting game with a friendly approach that makes it easy to play by any type of player, It can be enjoyed by both casual and hardcore players, but true fans of the original series are the ones who will appreciate it the most. Star Ocean: The Second Story R is much more than a visual remake of the PlayStation classic. Gemdrops reworked a lot of the gameplay system and also aded tons of quality of life improvements that resulted in a better game than the original. A 2023 surprise, no doubt.

Silent Hill f may not be the best game in the series, but it’s one that brings it back with great dignity. Despite its obvious flaws, this is a very good modern survival horror game that we believe you shouldn’t miss.

Sonic Mania is easily the best game of the speedy blue hedgehog in years. Not only that bit it is also one hell of a game that pays tribute to all of the franchise history itself. If you are a Sonic fan don't even doubt about it, go and get it as fast as you can.

Desperadoes III is one of the best surprises this year. Maybe it is not a game for everyone, but if you like the genre, or if you are a fan of the Wild West, this is a game that you cannot miss.
