Sometimes the change of mood is too sudden, but nonetheless this is an entertaining glimpse into what Dontnod might have in store with Life is Strange 2.

Not all the ideas that Neocore infused into a well-known hack&slay formula, seem to work and need fine-tuning still. But having said that, the surprisingly simple, yet effective cover mechanics, the multi layered character development and especially the beautiful art design could be enough to drag you into the brutal world of the 40K-Inquisition.

Just like Sphere of Influence and Ascension the strategy focuses on development, diplomacy and warfare as core elements, with economic as well as political connections at its center. Overall it feels less refined than the predecessors, though.

Too bad, that the weirdly beautiful creature design and bizarre gadgetry is going to waste. After an initial fascination Smoke and Sacrifice gets dragged down by redundant resource collections.

TT’s Lego games slowly become a second iteration of Tecmo Koeis musou action: There is very little progress within the decade old mechanics - if at all. You like it or don’t. This is one of the less inspired stud-hunts of late, though.

This is a very good expansion pack. Arkane shows off a creative variation of the main campaign - diverse and challenging.

The mostly gorgeous visuals add to the well captured Jurassic Park atmosphere. In terms of gameplay though, it stays mostly shallow.

Routinely designed puzzle-platformer with freshly added co-op-capability. While it still is a lot of fun, it cannot recreate the emotional impact of its predecessor.

In its best moments Vampyr is an atmospheric action roleplaying game with great dialogue and motivating battles. But you also get your fair share of limited exploration as well as all-you-can-loot-mentality that is more constricting than helpful.

This is not the spiritual sequel to MotorStorm that I hoped for. Instead you’ll get solid motorized arcade-action with too little content for soloists. It lacks in diversity depth and defining racing DNA.

Solid and beginner-friendly survival-action with a decent crafting system and a big, yet diverse world as a playground. But be prepared for plenty of grind.

If you play locally this is a perfect party game, while the story-mode is short but sweet. Online on the other hand Nintendo is still playing catch-up.

The cute design choices and creative puzzles make this an enchanting adventure. It could have been even better with a more decent fighting system.

A true and very solid sequel to the roughly ten year old tower defense action.

A superbly executed no-frills-shooter. Almost immaculate in its simplicity.

Like Journey or Limbo Far stands out with its combination of art- and sound design embedded in beautifully crafted story.

Like Shoope Keep Moonlighter tries to mix the life of a hero with that of a merchant - and that with a mostly charming result.

While the sheer number of selected games will satisfy old-school fans - even though some of the games already released on PC are missing. But it would be even better if you could get some bonus material like artworks, soundtracks etc.

So this is what happens when you mix pinball mechanics with an open 2D-platformer... This is my personal arcade highlight so far this year.

An interesting step back into the early era of one of the best loved fighting franchises ever - filled with loads of bonus content.

It is so simple, yet so motivating. Weird that it is the only game of its kind.

It is nice to see that this extraordinary game has been modernized. In terms of visual detail it still is old-fashioned though, but it was and still is a beautifully crafted action roleplaying game that leaves its mark.

It is dark, gritty, scary, explicit and daring. But it also is buggy, unbalanced, sometimes outright unfair and technically not as sound as it good have been.

This is a pleasant surprise. It is limited in certain aspects but the dynamic skirmishes are brutal and deliver.

At its core this a decent tennis game, but the lack of content, the bugs and the lackluster presentation are concerning.

If you like games like Limbo or Inside, you might fall in love with Little Nightmares.

While the scenario still is remarkably fresh, some mechanics haven’t aged well. Having said that, if you are a fan of old-school dungeon crawling, this is definitely a worthy addition to your library.
