The narrative is interesting and as much as I like “experimental” games, this remains a little too shallow in almost every aspect.

Inspired by PipeMania this mixture of puzzle and roleplaying game manages to entertain but suffers from the lack of content.

Technically and playfully conservative third-person shooter - everything works properly here, but if you expect highlights or surprises, you will be disappointed.

Run-of-the-mill re-release of a content rich JRPG, whose visuals and mechanics are simply not up-to-date.

Solid brain-training with varying entertainment factor and small problems in terms of input recognition as well as online connectivity.

The visuals are plain beautiful (the occasional clipping aside), but even with slightly changed abilities the Chronicles rely far too early on repeating the established, while adding a few minor problems that were not present in the predecessor.

At its core, this mixture of action-adventure, evolution and prehistoric survival is interesting, but held back massively by a bunch of cumbersome and badly explained mechanics as well as clumsy controls.

After all the Call of Dutys, Medal of Honors and Battlefields this is… different and kind of interesting. But nonetheless I don't see enough reasons to spend more time with this steampunk sleeping pill than necessary.

Finally: Trials comes to iOS and in the end it is merely a watered down free-to-play version with focus on in app purchases.

There simply is no digital adventure that can capture the unique horror of H.P. Lovecraft. The Sinking City tries hard, but ultimately finds its demise.

A solid Trials Evolution clone with challenging level design and an underutilized editor.

Corruption 2029 is a reduced version of Mutant Year Zero with interesting tactical battles. But that aside it misses creativity and variety.

The steampunk approach in track and vehicle design is charming, but mechanics lack variety and most of all tight controls, regardless if you enter the course with a gamepad, keyboard or mouse at your disposal.

At first glance it makes you curious. The art design is interesting, but once you have seen it all you'll find that it is little more than an overpriced minigame.

The futuristic tower ascension/speedrunner works as well on consoles as it did a few years back in PC. It could have done without the technical issues like aliasing and tearing, though.

The visuals are nice and while you are plotting your metropolis you can feel the potential of SimCity. But even though EA and Maxis are hard at work to fix everything in this state this game is rather disappointing.

The two greenskins going to war to end the human tyranny are good for some entertaining hours, but you have to have a soft spot for uncommon heroes and situations.

What do you associate with the name Sid Meier? Epic strategy. What do you get in Sid Meier’s Starships? A simple conquest game that can satisfy your appetite for 4X about as much as a cheeseburger.

In terms of accessing content (especially the chance to collect all the minifigures) the change from free-to-play to pay-to-play is a welcome step. But it opens the door to a whole other world of problems: Why not change the game to offline with optional online connectivity? And also with the redundant fighting system and the mission grind Minifigures has to compete with a wide variety of offline Lego games, which are almost always the better choice.

While the action is visceral and filled with brutal finishers, the battle system is facetted, yet not too complex. Too bad that the mechanics were wasted on mostly boring level design.

How this design could move beyond concept phase is beyond me. A lightning fast retro shooter that you have to play slow. Really? This is a boring hamster wheel of procedural synthesis. But it loses its grip on you faster than it can build motivation with its fast electro rock and inventive weaponry.
