    Whether you see it as a survival game, shooter, puzzler or roguelike, Scars Above is clever, polished, challenging and fun.

    Scars Above is not a triple-A, big-budget, blockbuster of a game and therefore shouldn’t be reviewed as one. While well-designed and creative, the game isn’t going to appeal to everyone and will feel low-budget compared to many of the games it’s clearly been inspired by. That’s okay, though, as Scars Above knows its audience and has been crafted with sci-fi and Soulslike fans in mind...If you fancy tackling some big bosses – but with a gun that fires various elemental attacks in a world that wouldn’t be out of place in Mass Effect or Returnal, then Scars Above may be an excellent way to spend your time.

    Despite not being perfect, Scars Above can satisfy those players that look for a challenging experience in a science fiction environment. Technically average, we talk about a long game with an important sense of progression and a great variety of weapons, although most of the combats are based in elemental weaknesses.

    Despite all its interesting ideas, Scars Above fails to overcome its flaws and remains a mediocre experience, and with a vague ending, we can hope that the next installment, if any, can address all the shortcomings and fulfill its potential.

    As a TPS with soulsike elements and a sci-fi setting, Scars Above fails to be a worthy heir to Returnal due to several limitations that make the game very different to shine, especially from a technical point of view.

    We somewhat enjoyed Scars Above, but we wanted to like it a lot more than we did. It has some interesting ideas and a solid story, but the gameplay unfortunately feels a tad too basic. And then there are the bugs. They might not be all that common, but when you do encounter them, they frustrate. Hopefully they’ll be quashed quickly after launch. In any case, pick up Scars Above, manage your expectations, and chances are you’ll have an enjoyable time with it overall. Just be aware that it’s more akin to a B-movie than a main feature.

    There are some foundational bright spots in Scars Above, such as some interesting puzzle-solving and a story that, while somewhat predictable, was well told, but it isn’t enough to justify the criminally stiff movement, huge technical issues and the ugly, lifeless animations. At the end of the day, even the best parts of Scars Above have been done far better, almost two years ago.

Animasyonlarda aynı şekilde atmosfer beni içine çekiyor. Kısacası bence oynaması keyifli bir oyun. En önemli eksi olarak puanlama sistemi ile level atlama arasındaki dengesizlik diyebilirim. This game is not AAA, I think it should be made according to it when evaluating. Although the gameplay in the First Stage may seem a bit of a log to you, it is tripled with crafting weapons and unlocking new features. The graphics are not perfect but good. In animations, the atmosphere draws me in. In short, I think it's a fun game to play. I can say that the most important minus is the imbalance between the scoring system and leveling up.… Expand

The learning curve is also really steep and demands a lot from you at the beginning. The developers of the game also implement the core idea of survival on an alien planet enormously well, and you will unfortunately have to survive a few annoying moments. However, if you want to learn the different settings and possibilities, the game shows its great side. Nevertheless, you'll get a decent title with "Scars Above", and you'll be happy to get involved with it.… Expand
