What it may lack in bells and whistles it makes up for in terms of sheer playability.

Even with it's failings, Plight of the Zombie is a great path-drawing puzzle game. The various zombie and enemy types, as well as the unique challenges they provide, make it feel unexpectedly fresh despite all the decay.

For a quick, simple play, the earlier levels of Wimp offer quite a bit, and as the play progresses there is a bit of an increase in difficulty not just in puzzles, but how the platforming functions. Thankfully, as I stated, unless going for the completionist route, there is plenty to do without getting too frustrated.

Despite not having controller support, Leap of Fate still manages to be an entertaining title. If you like your roguelikes a little more fast-paced and cyberpunk, this is the game for you.

The characters and menu-based design of Miss Fisher are really special aspects of an otherwise middling adventure game. Considering this, I'm not sure I would really recommend Miss Fisher unless its subsequent episodes present some more interesting plots and puzzles.

Stranger Things is one of the most surprising tie-in games out there. It's a clever homage to the show's setting and the kinds of games from that era, it's fun to play, and it's completely free. It may not do much to capture the same tone of the show and some of its gameplay might feel dated, but that's ok. Stranger Things: The Game is a fun experience that treats its audience with some respect, which is a thing few other tie-in games can claim.

Agent A is such a different thing from most other adventure games that I've played, and that's mostly a good thing. It doesn't have the most challenging puzzles out there. In fact, I found myself occasionally bypassing steps of puzzles because I figured things out before I was supposed to. That said, it's still inventive and does a great job of making you feel like a really smart super spy as you play it.

The Shadow Sun is a bit awkward to play and needs some polishing, but look beyond that and it’s actually an incredibly competent action-RPG.

The graphics are excellent and the sound effects are good, too.

Ultimately, Heads Up! Hot Dogs wanes under the weight of longer play sessions, but then, it knows that. Like the franks falling from the sky, this one's good for a few delicious bites now and then to satisfy a craving…for fun.

I cannot stress enough just how much fun I’ve been having with LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes. It’s the LEGO game I’ve apparently always wanted: perfectly sized levels, tons of hidden stuff, and even more unlockables (80 playable characters!). It’s time to pick up some wonderful toys.

It’s a little heavy-handed with some of the in-app purchase suggestions, but Cut the Rope 2 is still quite the delight.

Tiny Troopers is fun in small doses and has the makings of a pretty cool casual war game. It's just that the soldiers' movements aren't entirely accurate. An issue that doesn't go well with permadeath. It's certainly entertaining in its own way, but requires a lot of patience to get anywhere.

Jump and float in this absurd, beautiful, but ultimately dissatisfying platformer.

Her Majesty adds a lot of neat layers to the Reigns formula, but its core is still very much the same. As a result, I’m not sure how much Her Majesty might attract new players to the series. That said, Her Majesty has a lot of offer if you’re simply looking for a more fleshed out version of Reigns.

Even with the graphics as bad as they were, the gameplay is such that the package is a must play experience.

This attempt to modernize beat 'em ups fixes some problems while creating others. The underlying issues that plague the genre persist, but so does the charm and appeal, especially if you are a TMNT fan.

Those after a challenging word game will greatly appreciate Spellwood. It doesn't hand victory over to the player by any means, especially in the early stages when there is limited equipment, but it's all the better for it.

At its core, Man in a Maze is a family friendly puzzler that's well designed with smooth controls, humorous graphics and varied gameplay. Aside from adding iCade support, there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it. Whether players have a twisted sense of humor, love mazes or can't get enough game shows packed into their day, it's definitely a keeper and highly recommendable.

It's one of a very small handful of games that I would recommend wholeheartedly. I've yet to see such an impressive amalgamation of war gaming and the RPG genre, even after all these years. Just don't expect an easy ride.

Those that enjoy their gaming in extremely small doses will find plenty to love, they just can’t expect to play for hours on end without attempts to pry into their wallet.

MOS Speedrun 2 is a fantastic speed running game.

It's nothing extraordinarily new, and if you're sick to death of match-3's or already have one, this game isn't for you. If, however, you're a fan of the genre and need one for your iPhone or iPad, Babo Crash is a good choice.

While prolonged play gets repetitious, it's perfect for a few minutes of undead fun.

Touch Pets: Dogs is hands-down the best pet sim the App Store has yet seen, and it adds one more quality title to ngmoco's impressive catalog. Whether or not you're willing to invest the time and money in a virtual pet is another matter entirely.

This one probably comes more recommended for those who want a challenge provided by a meta-game as opposed to just the game itself. Otherwise, this is a fun 16-bit romp that fits well on the touchscreen.

I didn't really mind the lack of challenge. The general experience is enjoyable and made all the better by the cute one liners that Spongebob exclaims. For kids, they will love this Spongebob infused game. For adults, they'll enjoy the ride to the end. It's so gleefully happy, it's hard not to smile.

Gridrunner, much like the rest of Jeff Minter's games on iOS, is a must-buy. He's actually one of the few developers that I would buy a game from as soon as I found out it was available, and I'll keep up with this.

Even though I'm not too fond of the trial-and-error gameplay of the bulk of the stages, there's just too much to love about Amoebattle for me to care. It's a unique spin on a classic genre, and one that's more than worth any interested iOS gamer's time.

Hairy Tales certainly has a few elements that make warding off the corruption a bit more taxing than it ought to be, but it's still a very entertaining puzzle game with loads of bushy cuteness. So go ahead; grab a crystal and start running. Just mind the gaps.

Chip Chain neatly avoids any excessive in-app purchasing problems. It's a high quality game without it. Sure, it might not be the most attractive of games to look at, but there's a heap of fun here for Match Three fans looking for something with a bit more strategy.

Though its controls can be a bit problematic at times, Pac-Man Friends is a neat way to bring puzzle-solving to the House of Pac.

Tales from Deep Space is a fun if familiar puzzle adventure game.

Ace Patrol flies players into turn-based aerial combat during World War I. Having a strategy for the skies is the challenge as players partake in multiple single player missions, each with unique objectives.

This somewhat shaky port does a great job of capturing the spirit of Prince of Persia games to the point that some of the changes introduced feel pretty weak or unnecessary by comparison, but its core is sound and enjoyable nonetheless.
