Madame X is possibly Madonna's most daring album since Erotica. It's intimate, weird, uncomfortable, addictive, soothing, exciting, delicate and so gratifying. It blurs the lines between kitsch and elegance, something no one does better than Madonna.

Madame X is possibly Madonna's most daring album since Erotica. It's intimate, weird, uncomfortable, addictive, soothing, exciting, delicate and so gratifying. It blurs the lines between kitsch and elegance, something no one does better than Madonna.
Aside from the five songs that we have heard so far, Madame X has quite a few tricks left up her sleeve - and to be honest, she's saved the best for last.
Madame X aims to deliver what Like A Prayer and Erotica did so well - wrap you into a sonic think tank that's dark and enlightening.
God Control ticks all the boxes; a smart, catchy, neo disco anthem with a wake up call (literally).
Come Alive is as close as electronica can get to a prayer. Extreme Occident is a solemn reflection with the pleasant warmth of a desert at sunset and when the night falls, Looking for Mercy leaves you gazing in wonder at infinity, without and within.
Lyrically, Madonna's in her element and every collaboration fits like a glove.
It's an album you want to be alone with, behind closed doors... a guilty pleasure, just like every great Madonna album. For someone who's been a fan since 1984, Madame X comes full circle. Thank you Madonna.

Stunning work from Madonna. It’s wonderful how this woman has achieved reinventing herself and still remains among younger generations of popstars. Madonna’s greatest album of the decade and one of her greatest in her discography. Mastered to perfection, Madame X takes you on a world trip. Fresh, creative, ground breaking sounds that have nothing to do with current trends. The wait was worth it, Madonna once again has shown who dominates the music world and why there’s only one queen.

It is difficult to describe this album. The songs are amazing, different from the records released in the past years, Madonna is a five-star artist and Madame X is a mixture of POP, Latin music, Brazilian funk, disco and so on. It's not a messy record, it is awesome and brilliant.

Experimental, genial e magnífico. O melhor albúm da Madonna desde o Ray Of Light.

"Batuka" is another amazing track that is flooded with African Culture, and is a really catchy track by Madonna. "Medellin", and **** I'm Loca" featuring Maluma, are really interesting and catchy, and are some of Madonna's most creative works of art in this century alone. Another catchy tune I liked was, "I Don't Search, I Find" which is very creative, and is an aspiring Disco infused EDM track, which brings her back to her 90's roots, like "Vogue", "Deeper And Deeper", and some of her early 2000's work, Music, and American Life.

I'd say I would give this a perfect 10 based on it's creativity that Madonna put into this record. Madame X has done it again!

Madame X is Madonna’s most bizarre and ambitious album since “American Life”. This record is the lovechild of her magnum opus, 2005’s “Confessions On A Dance Floor” and the iconic “Like A Prayer” But with a modern twist. The album opens with the sexy Latin pop track “Medellin“ featuring Maluma. The duo’s vocals blend ever so smoothly while chanting lyrics to one another. “Dark Ballet” is one of the most out there songs on the album featuring a long piano break and a theatrical robotic chant and a spoken word Interlude. Madonna Is completely unapologetic telling those who disagree to I will not denounce the things that I have said”. The song is hauntingly beautiful witty an eerie tone. God control is a disco masterpiece with an enchanting and odd chorus. “Future” is a low point of the album playing it safe production wise and feeling a bit out of place on the record. The song could have been decent if it didn’t feature Quavo who just sounds bored. “Batuka” is cute with an almost tribal feel where we hear the Lisbon influence on the record filled with drums and chants. “Killers Who Zaire Partying” is one of the boldest tracks on the album yet that’s not necessarily a good thing. The song isn’t bad it simply drains on too long. “Crave” is one of the catchiest tracks on the record yet doesn’t feeling generic. Swae Lee’s vocals perfectly complement Madonna’s as the two sing about lov. It’s an absolutely beautiful song. “Crazy” is one of the least discussed tracks on the record but is also one of the best! Madonna’s lines of Portuguese add something special and pleasing to the song. The track is slower paced giving a relaxing vibe. This song goes through Madonna’s thoughts longing for love and and telling her lover she isn’t”wont let you drive me crazy” but my favorite lyric is the nostalgic “I bend my knees for you like a Prayer”. Madonna has this magic in giving nods to her older work. “Rebel heart” was filled with it aswell. Come Alive is a poppy fun track with simple and pleasant production. “Extreme Occident” is a darker track with a twangy instrumental. Still trying to decipher the lyrics in this one but it’s very intriguing. “Faz Gostoso” is the most upbeat and fun song on the album featuring Anitra. They’re vocals blend so well you can barely tell who is who. This song is so well done. I can see it taking off and smashing the charts if chosen as a single. **** I’m Loca” is another collab with Maluma yet almost a polar opposite of the first. This track is upbeat and sexy. For some reason I have an odd love for the way Madge pronounces **** “I Dont Search i find” sounds like a B-side to a Confessions on a dance floor. It’s an absolute masterpiece straight out of 70’s disco. “Looking For Mercy” is a longing ballad with some of her best vocals on the album. “I Rise” finished off the record perfectly with replay value and catchy lyrics. It’s an anthem for gun control and and peace. This record is powerful. There’s parts that make you dance, parts that make you cry, and parts that make you feel nostalgic for the past. Madonna took a huge risk on this album. Her 14th studio record and she isn’t slowing down. Madonna’s ambition alone deserves endless praise. This is her greatest record in over a decade. Madame X is a masterpiece. . discusses Expand

“Finally enough love”! Madame X is a Brilliant, Provocatively political, Interesting musical trip. Dear GOD!!!! This album is so much more that I was expecting!!! It's like a retrospective of brilliant songs in someone's career. Covering an array of musical genres and languages. The result gives her some real SINGLE potentials.
Killers Who are Partying and Extreme Occident are powerful

Killers Who are Partying and Extreme Occident are powerful songs that linger in your heart for hours after the first listen.
Track God Control and I Don't Search I Find sound like outtakes from previous albums.
Come Alive - Would make a powerful single for USA!!!
Faz Gostoso in Portuguese (feat. Anitta) & **** I'm Loca in Spanish (feat. Maluma) are standouts Latin Dance tracts with strong single potential.

Madame ❌ can best be described as @madonna herself said in an interview, “it’s definitely not background music”. I’d describe it as unlike anything she’s ever done but importantly unlike anything anyone has ever done. Who else has fused an album with three different languages organically flowing around! Who else has changed the tonality of their voice to convey their emotion (God ControlMadame ❌ can best be described as @madonna herself said in an interview, “it’s definitely not background music”. I’d describe it as unlike anything she’s ever done but importantly unlike anything anyone has ever done. Who else has fused an album with three different languages organically flowing around! Who else has changed the tonality of their voice to convey their emotion (God Control appears sung through clenched teeth)! Who else moves from dance music to ballads so effortlessly! Who else can put a positive spin to a gloomy world picture! Madame ❌ is many things but it’s singularly captivating. It definitely draws out a strong opinion and that has to be art! “It’s easy to be lazy & hard to get away from the crowd” “& either way my baby we’ll never be the same” so sang she in Intervention back on #AmericanLife, and seems to live by that belief even today. It’s no surprise that the producer to helm Madame ❌ is @mirwais.official who has collaborated for a third time on what can be only described as #Brilliant #Unique #Timeless #Ballsy #Badass #Art with great support from @jasonevigan @therealmikedean #Billboard! These songs will play beautifully in a theatre and I hope I can go see a show all the way from India! Until then I’ll soak in the insane magic of Madame ❌. My fav are #Crave #GodControl #ComeAlive #DarkBallet #IRise #IDontSearchIFind #FazGostoso #Batuka. The only downside to this masterpiece is the overuse of auto tune that I’m not much a fan of! @madonna thank you for doing what you do - inspiring with sheer passion n commitment to your craft. We’re better for it. Expand

"In your face", bold, raw, different, weird, all-over the place, poignant, truths personal, intimate and totally conceptual. I think she has the cojones to do whatever she wants. She's Madonna. Bravo!

For the first time in more than a decade, Madonna sounds relaxed and comfortable in her skin. She's not chasing hits. She's not necessarily chasing trends or famous guests. Even when it's not stellar, it's at least interesting, and it rewards repeated listens. What some might consider dull or light on hits sounds like maturity and artistic statement to these ears. It's earned, and I'm relieved she's not chasing trends, but following her own muse again. Expand

The pace plods on some mid-tempo tracks, but overall this is a personal, politically-charged mix of dark thoughts and good vibes. [Aug 2019, p.88]

Overall, Madonna’s fourteenth album Madame X feels as if Mirwais had mostly completed a decent run-of-the-mill modern pop record, albeit with a cool hotch-potch global feel; hip nods in place to fado, dub and other micro-genres dunked amongst the trap and retro disco. But then just before sign-off, Herself went through the top-lines with a sharpie. ... None of these carefully curated flourishes feel as if they truly live inside the ‘whole’ of this music. Instead it all feels plonked on top of a template.

Madonna has created this music for an audience of one: Herself. Often it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
