    Granny Ciccone, I believe it is now time to hang up the microphone, put away those dancing shoes and purchase that chalet in the retirement village. Madge, you used to be a trend-setter but over the last few albums all you have done is chase trends instead of setting them.

    I can only imagine our once glorious trend-setting Loca turned on the radio one day and heard Luis Fonsi's hit    Granny Ciccone, I believe it is now time to hang up the microphone, put away those dancing shoes and purchase that chalet in the retirement village. Madge, you used to be a trend-setter but over the last few albums all you have done is chase trends instead of setting them.

    I can only imagine our once glorious trend-setting Loca turned on the radio one day and heard Luis Fonsi's hit Despatico blowing up all over the airwaves and immediately rushed into a studio so she could chase that Latin pop.

    I tolerated Hard Candy, MDMA was, quite frankly, her worst album to date, and for me Rebel Heart was another half-arsed attempt but seriously give it up now if this is all that you have got left in you. I used to relish the thought of a new Madonna album releasing but now I will rather give my attention to someone else. While I will always love eighties and nineties Madonna (Erotica, Ray of Light and her earlier works are just gems), this new 2010-2019 stuff is just dreadful.

    The people rating this one anything higher than a 5 are delusional fans who haven't, or can't accept, that Madge is no longer the Queen of Pop but rather a caricature of her once former brilliant self.

    Fantástico, empolgante, diferente, empoderador, político... Madonna mesmo depois de 37 anos de carreira, nos mostra por que reina absoluta no mundo da música. O álbum é uma obra de arte audiovisual incrível!

There's a large amount of Spanish and Portuguese songs on here, but none of it feels very original- or, if it does, it's so soaked in reverb that it sounds like she's singing it in an abandoned auditorium. And her social commentary is just... not great. "Killers Who Are Partying" honestly ruins this entire record. ItMadonna feels, for possibly the first time, way out of her depth here.     as participações são bem escolhidas e cada uma construída para dar ênfase no artista convidado, seja no ritmo ou na voz. os vocais belíssimos, o conceito muito bem pensado e executado e o trabalho maduro em cada faixa. This is an amazing experimental pop álbum, with the mix of latín reggaeton and Madonna's pop in Medellín and **** I'm loca, she played the game singing funk music and mixing africa rhythms with pop and trap, but the only thing that I haré is her abuse of autotune in many songs, but there are someOne of her Best récords of all her carrer, all the textures between each songs are good.     The songs are varying in style and lyrics, and dare I say story?!
    Great mix of Spanish, English and catchy beats.     After 2 months of listening to Madame X on repeat, I felt obliged to create a Metacritic account to proclaim what a great album this is! Many people (as we can see by the stupid critics' reviews) will not get it, but it is frankly speaking, a masterpiece! This is art in the purest sense. It's profound and transcendental. If you listen to the album from beginning to end, you willAfter 2 months of listening to Madame X on repeat, I felt obliged to create a Metacritic account to proclaim what a great album this is! But when I stayed up till midnight and God Control started playing, I knew I was in for a ride! The album just kept getting better and better! It's one of her best albums ever and I wish it would get the recognition it deserves! Yes, some of the lyrics are clunky but the message and the mood of the album is incredible! It's like nothing out there! If you're looking for something new, you must give Madame X a taste. In a world of Top 40 factory-made singles, Madonna has really done us all a huge favor here gifting us this treat! I love you, Madonna!… Expand

Madame X is like a trip inside an addicted society, it has highs, lows, recovery, and solutions. You will encounter a lot of unexpected, and to sayA for sure foray into the future, with help and insight from the past and present. It can be emotionally cold and chilling at times through the use of the various vocal effects, but when you do feel that way, it's definitely not unintentional. Madame X is like a trip inside an addicted society, it has highs, lows, recovery, and solutions. You will encounter a lot of unexpected, and to say the least unconventional musical arrangements within the album. As a personal note, my favorite work typically lies within the remix eps of the singles released after the album, and with Medellin, I Rise, and the soon to be released Crave remix Ep, I'm going be dancing, crying, and inspired for quite some time.… Expand

    I had to give this album a few listens to make up my mind. There are strange oddities in here that made me think about the score: Medellin is a headscratcher of a lead single, and Dark Ballet - a bit too experimental for my taste. But I still admire the creative force in both tracks. There are also oddities that do work, like God Control and Batuka. Then there are some lyrical moments thatI had to give this album a few listens to make up my mind. There are strange oddities in here that made me think about the score: Medellin is a headscratcher of a lead single, and Dark Ballet - a bit too experimental for my taste. But I still admire the creative force in both tracks. There are also oddities that do work, like God Control and Batuka. Then there are some lyrical moments that make me frown - especially in Extreme Occident and Killers Who Are Partying - but I can't deny the gorgeous melodies and instrumentation. And then there are a bunch of songs that are Madonna's best tracks in 20 years : I Don't Search I find, Crazy, Crave, Faz Gostoso are perfect pop tracks that deserve massive airplay. Because of this and the fact that it feels like a spontaneous intuitive record in an era of formulaic pop, and because it she is ahead of trends for the first time since 2000's Music - I have to give this a 10.     As someone who considered herself a huge former Madonna fan (I own most of her singles from the 80s and 90s on vinyl) I was pleased by the rumor mill whisperings that this latest album, "Madame X" was a comeback of sorts, a return to primo form after nearly a decade of mediocre music releases (following the excellent career-highlight "Confessions on a Dance Floor"). Unfortunately, after aAs someone who considered herself a huge former Madonna fan (I own most of her singles from the 80s and 90s on vinyl) I was pleased by the rumor mill whisperings that this latest album, "Madame X" was a comeback of sorts, a return to primo form after nearly a decade of mediocre music releases (following the excellent career-highlight "Confessions on a Dance Floor"). Unfortunately, after a few serious listens to the new Ms. X, I've concluded that it's not only bad and a continuation of Madonna's out-of-touch downward spiral, but it's also entirely cringeworthy and shockingly amateurish. Ridiculous, self-indulgent lyrics and less-than-stellar vocal delivery aren't the only problematic elements, however. The production on the album is also surprisingly "off" and unpolished. Many of the vocals seem as if they are recorded by a cheap laptop mic and - perhaps purposely? - there's a sparseness to the overall sound that feels unfinished and quickly constructed. While some reviewers have lauded this as the best Madonna album in years, all signs (and sounds) point to it being among the worst and most misguided.… Expand

Compared to previous Madonna albums this one will make you feel something, it will make you think about you, the others, the world, the universe. There is a strong story behind it. You can feel it. Again, she is showing to every pop star on this planet what their role should be, what is the essence of music : convey powerful emotions and messages. It's not a commercial album, you cant expect a lot of sales from it and it won't be played on the radios... But travel through the years and stay as a true work of art. The song writing overall on this album isn't the sharpest.     Eclectic album with a unified message. Madonna created what I thought would be difficult at this stage of her career, a new sound meaningful to the world. Madame X Is joy, pain, inteligent and an excellent musical production.

    Are all the exceptionally high scores some kind of joke I'm not in on? Or are they just Madonna fan girls or basing their scores off some nostalgia that I don't understand because I'm only 19? Genuinely confused cause this not a good album at all.

    Absolutely fantastic from the opening moments through the end . Works best as a whole piece as moods unfold into one another. Love the Mirwais dark beats, the lush sound, the production.

    Amazing album! Madonna is so creative and gave to us a pop album in a very good quality that no other pop artist can do. We listen to so many similar pop songs nowadays, but Madonna does what nobody can do: she puts art and creative on her music. One of her best 3 album for sure!!

    At first listen I was not overly impressed but like all Madonna masterpieces it's the albums that don't click instantly which end up being her best. God Control, Crave, Crazy and I Rise should catch on quick.

    Listen, I respect that madonna has been in the game for 4 decades and has set a tone but come on....how do people listen to this auto tuned crap? I'm not saying the whole album is horrible but it definitely isn't innovative and it certainly isn't good. No thank you.

    Surprising, vulnerable and haunting album, quite dense with many layers, its a record one has to listen over and over to discover sounds from places like Lisbon, Cap Vert, Morocco or Colombia. Makes you wonder and long for the future with Madonna going on these directions.

    A great comeback for a lagendary artist. I took many missteps along this decade for madonna to figure out her true calling ! Music Expression at its finest and a clear reminder that , when madonna follows her instincts , great things follow. Very experimental latin and pop with a point of view!

    The worst of her albums, perhaps very close to “American Life”: just judge by the art cover and the name of the album. Madame X is just a mix of a desperate “artist” trying so hard to be relevant with her well known and repulsive controversy manners. She has become really disgusting. Just grow up woman, remove those grills and that ridiculous eye patch

    Overall, Madonna’s fourteenth album Madame X feels as if Mirwais had mostly completed a decent run-of-the-mill modern pop record, albeit with a cool hotch-potch global feel; hip nods in place to fado, dub and other micro-genres dunked amongst the trap and retro disco. But then just before sign-off, Herself went through the top-lines with a sharpie. ... None of these carefully curated flourishes feel as if they truly live inside the ‘whole’ of this music. Instead it all feels plonked on top of a template.
