The lyricism is her best yet and the songs flow beautifully together. She has created intricate stories with character arches featuring different perspectives whilst including imagery that creates beautiful visuals for each song on the album.

it captures everything i could imagine on a rainy sunday afternoon while smoking a pack of cigarettes and sipping on a mug of strong coffee, encapsulates the cold hazy atmosphere of melancholy and euphoria combined and i dont even know how is that possible.

Este álbum é indiscutivelmente sutil, perspicaz e vívido. É uma obra de arte; é tão profundo como as faixas dialogam umas com as outras e a sonoridade é tão rica. Taylor Swift abriu mão do pop sintético, super comercial e adolescente, e o resultado é um álbum maduro, jovem (paradoxal) e autêntico. É inspirador! Nota máxima!!!

So, I'm new to Taylor Nation. Really wasn't a fan when I was younger and started warming up to her after Miss Americana and Lover.
This is the indie-pop-contemporary album of my dreams. Haters gonna hate, this woman is a very gifted songwriter and music business mogul. She knows what she's doing and this album shows. Sweet, sad and melancholy, like a late summer afternoon. I loved it.

Folklore is a near perfect record using stripped down, Lofi instrumentation to make T Swift seem more relatable and down to earth as she tackles isolation and past regrets in a very 2020 way.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
