This album sounds like nothing she’s ever done before, simultaneously it sounds like all of her albums combined together. So far this is my favorite thing she’s ever done.

It gets better with every listen, not a single skip.

Beautiful storytelling. Taylor pulls back from her usual songwriting about her own life and embraces a wispy, romantic world of teen love. Every lyric is packed full of longing and imagery. A wonderful surprise and one of her best works.

A stunning piece of work. The complexity of the lyrics mixed with the haunting melodies really bring the storytelling in the songs to life. You feel as though you’ve slipped into another world. It’s also really gratifying to also see this kind of growth in an artist. As someone who’s listened and enjoyed her music since her debut, with every album you can see the development of her skill - be it songwriting, vocally or experimentation with different genres - and it feels as though this is a culmination of all of that. It’s the most comprehensive work Taylor has put out thus far and the most glaringly joyful thing about it is that you can tell that it was made purely for herself because she wanted to create - not for big stadium tours or to get any awards / acclaim (though it deserves all of that too) but just because at the end of the day she’s a songwriter who writes amazing songs and uses them to tell stories - whether her own or others. Amazing!!! The way she took some of the most known fairytale and took them and made an album about love and what it could be like in her mind and how she saw them. The folk pop aspect was something we had never really heard from her.

Taylor Swift proved very important two things with this album. the first one is that she can step into any genre and make a remarkable, stunning music in it. and the second one is that the greatest songwriter nowadays with her absolute amazing storytelling style, and her honest emotions that she poured them all through out the album.

Parece como si hubiera sacado Daylight, Afterflow, The Archer, It’s Nice to Have a Friend y las hubiera copiado y pegado para ponerlas primero.

An unexpected change from what Swift had us used to, and it couldn't be more beautiful and perfect. Folklore is cozy, warm-ful, truthful with itself, and Swift at her best poetic moment ever. A masterpiece from the best songwriter of our time.

This album, from the production to the orchestration and songwriting is pure perfection. Taylor did it again to all of us... if you didn’t like her, listen again and you will, guaranteed. She’s been perfect since day 1.

Not much of a reinvention for Taylor. Dull melodies do this album a disservice despite some of the most mature lyrics I’ve heard from her. Exile and my tears ricochet are the only standouts from this otherwise forgettable album.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
