I’ve been a fan since the beginning. There have been albums I’ve adored (RED, reputation), and some albums I’m not a huge fan of (1989), but folklore...this is her best work. I didn’t think I could ever again be as wowed by her as I was when she released reputation but I stand completely corrected. 10/10, it is an absolute, skip-less masterpiece. Taylor delivered the best job of his career. Cohesive, sweet, sad, smooth and chaotic. Beautiful lyrics, pleasant and complementary melodies. Taylor proved that her success comes not just because her story is told in the songs, but because she is a good songwriter. It's not just her story, it's the way she touches our hearts

folklore is unlike any album that she released. It is the album that you can nearly taste, the album that you would eat a thousand times, the words that you want to hear for the rest of your life, the feelings that you never felt before, the sounds that brings you to another dimension. folklore is beautifully written and produced,.

Ethereal, introspective and soul soothing. This is genuine songwriting that goes straight to one’s soul. Some songs are truly hypnotic (My Tears ricochet just to quote one). This is Songwriting and Creativity at its highest, the stream of consciousness that led to this masterpiece is powerful and sincere. Joni Mitchell wouldn’t disagree on it, I guess. Taylor is not just 1989, Lover or Reputation, which I really love and enjoyed immensely: she’s a 360 degree artist and above all, 100 % authentic. An extraordinary album delivered after tre months of clearly cathartic quarantine, craftily written in order to express the artist’s most intimate feelings: the result really does speak to my soul. The Taylor Swift album that was meant to happen

I personally think that when Safe and Sound was released as a soundtrack for The Hunger Games, Taylor Swift should do this direction after Red. I personally think that when Safe and Sound was released as a soundtrack for The Hunger Games, Taylor Swift should do this direction after Red. While Red undeniably cemented Swift's stature as a master songwriter through deep cuts like All Too Well and The Last Time, the record still was "radio-safe" by including tracks like 22, WANEGBT, and I Knew You Were Trouble. Swift's records have always had that a couple of tracks that deviate from the entire mood of the album. (Take Call It what You want in reputation and Soon You'll Get Better in Lover). folklore in comparison is her most cohesive album yet, and her best one that highlights hr skill in writing lyrics.

It seemed like an Adele album; one long song, but of course because she’s a traditional pop star, who’s pushing no boundaries and fits a social beauty standard, y’all are acting like it’s the best thing ever. The album is lame. Expand

This is without a doubt Taylor's most sophisticated and mature project. Her lyricism and songwriting skills are demonstrated at their best and the production is exquisite to match. She creates a detailed and vivid world in this project that feels warm and comforting yet simultaneously melancholy. It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
