I think those so called "professional critics" were kinda unfair towards the movie. I can understand it's catering more towards the "hardcore" Warcraft fans (which I am truly happy and big kudos to Blizzard for that). Still movie was prettyI think those so called "professional critics" were kinda unfair towards the movie. I can understand it's catering more towards the "hardcore" Warcraft fans (which I am truly happy and big kudos to Blizzard for that). Still movie was pretty well done, with great characters... awesome CGI etc. Ok you could find some poor plot moments but overall I greatly enjoyed the movie and would still recommend it 100% to all Warcraft fans.
Don't forget Blizzard is planning to release sequels which advance the story, so for an opening movie it was great. I really hope Blizzard keeps true to the roots and won't turn this into mainstream **** just to appease to the public.… Expand

In this movie awesome story and this film made by Warcraft Series, in this movie sad ending, at the end this movie King caused one of the ogres who switched sides kill to kill himself and at the end this movie king is died . I think this is best movie of 2016 if not to mention Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows . In Warcraft many magic and awesome special effects . This movie was epic. These so called "critics" are ridiculous. Rating this movie 0's, it's just insane. The movie was epic, effects on point, it was a pleasure watching this in 3D which is rare for a lot of movies. I wished that the movie wasThis movie was epic. I wished that the movie was longer and you can see that it was cramped at times to fit a specific time frame, but director's cut will be even more epic with added 40 minutes of screen time. I'm not sure why they made a decision to cut this movie by 40 minutes, but it's a shame. However, this doesn't mean that the movie is bad.

Don't read the reviews of these so called critics who basically destroyed the score of Warcraft on Metacritic. Everyone who watched this movie with me that day and left the cinema said "this is one of the best movies that I saw in a long time". And these people are slightly familiar with Warcraft lore and universe. It says a lot. Can't wait for more of this!… Expand

i wonder how meta rating is very low . for me that grow up with Blizzard Entertainment (Warcraft series).

felt like I was immersed in Azeroth. The Orcs were beautifully done, the scenery breathtaking. I loved Durotan, Khadgar, and Draka. The baby was so adorable especially when it growled. I saw the movie 3 times already . it's amazing in all aspects

There many mysteries and hidden secrets that will need sequels to revels it. The graphics is like nothing you ever seen before. it's taking you to a fantastic journey to the epic world of Warcraft. the movie leave you hungry to know more about the world of Warcraft.

It was a truly the most beautiful movie I have ever seen.)

As a Warcraft fan - I am totally satisfied and completely dazzled by the movie! No matter what kind of flaws it had (which are not important) and how much they changed the story from the original - it was worth every second of my time. Watched it twice and going to see more.
Whoever you are, make yourself a favor - go to the cinema and give yourself a fairy tale!… Expand

I stopped playing a long time ago, and some of the parts of the movie I did not recognize as an old player. But the movie does capture you, moves you and brings emotions. together with great visuals. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

Iv been playing Warcraft since Orcs Vs Humans. I have been dying to see a movie be made out of this. The streak of games turning into movies has been broken! HOWEVER! they did change some stuff from the main story line of the first game. I found it to be acceptable. I enjoyed this movie far better then star wars the force awakens to be honest. If you want a movie like Lord of the Rings but with more fantasy and 2 sides of the story. This is a movie for you… Expand

Not sure what my expectations were, but this movie exceeded it.

Even as a fan of the series, I did not have high hopes this would be a quality movie, as most video game movies aren't. But at no point did I find myself disengaged or bored.Not sure what my expectations were, but this movie exceeded it.

The pacing to me was perfect; action sequences weren't over used, dramatic elements weren't overused, characters had a lot of depth, and events didn't play out in a predictable manner.

Whenever a movie comes out based on an existing franchise, I always end up feeling that either the film was made simply to cash in on the franchises popularity, or that I was neglected as a fan of the existing franchise as the adaptation was made to suit a more general audience; that is not at all the case with this film.… Expand

Fans will love this movie. Non-Fans might be lost in the rapid change of scenery and constant introduction of characters so I can see the confusion the "critics" are having however, bombing this movie as bad because they don't know some ofFans will love this movie. Единственно что немного огорчает это то, что сюжет в фильме бежит не останавливаясь на разъяснения. Но здесь все понятно - дядьки, решившие, что их видение картины лучше, чем у режиссера и считавшие, что лучше знают, что хочет видеть народ - несчадно порезали ту составляющую фильма, которая объясняет в подробностях все происходящее в картине. Отсюда и негативные отзывы от людей, не знакомых с лором (миром варкрафта). Повторюсь еще раз - не слушайте и не читайте рецензии критиков, не портите заранее себе впечатление о фильме! Сходите сами и посмотрите картину. А если уже почитали и сомневаетесь - так познакомитесь вкратце с миром варкрафта перед просмотром фильма - это улучшит его восприятие и все встанет на свои места. Ну или, в крайнем случае, дождитесь режиссерской версии картины, от просмотра которой, я уверен, все получат огромное удовольствие!… Expand

I don't understand why critics hate Warcraft. Of course they are proffesionals but usual viewers and these critics are people and I don't understand why critics hate this film and viewers love this movie. Aaand I didn't find big mistakes. I really love this film, my friends love this film, youtubers mostly love this film, warcraft fans love this film BUT only critics hate this film. I think that it smells like bribe. This film was made for fans not for Oscar, not for critics. It was made with love by fans for fans and for new viewers who will become new fans of this universe. I've become a fan of this beautiful universe. This is one of my favorite fantasy universes as The Elder Scrolls, Witcher, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. That's all.… Expand

Critics give low score only because they don't like the genre. Their ratings are obviously biased and should all be fired. The movie along, not considering the game, is touching. I never expected great things from this movie, but I went with an open mind, and I loved it!

Aki azt mondja, hogy ez a film a legrosszabb, meg aki hasonlítja ilyen Super mario játékhoz, az egy nyomorult barom. A filmnek vannak kisebb-nagyobb hibái, de szerintem bőven megbocsájthatóak, főleg azért az élményért cserébe, amit nyújt. ÉsAki azt mondja, hogy ez a film a legrosszabb, meg aki hasonlítja ilyen Super mario játékhoz, az egy nyomorult barom. A filmnek vannak kisebb-nagyobb hibái, de szerintem bőven megbocsájthatóak, főleg azért az élményért cserébe, amit nyújt. És igen, rengeteget nyújt, hiszen olyan warcraftos/wowos hangulatot ad bele az arcodba, hogy szájtátva nézed végig az egész filmet, tele emlékekkel és nosztalgiával. A laikusoknak meg remek fantasy, én nem egy ilyen emberrel beszéltem, meg olvastam a neten mindenhol, hogy egy csomó laikusnak tetszett. Mindenképpen megéri elmenni a filmre és nem szabad az idióta kritikusokra hallgatni. A film NEM rossz. A kedves kritikusok nem írnak objektíven, becsapják a nézőket. Emberek!!! Ez a film nem rossz. A kritikusok nem emelik ki a pozitív oldalait. A látványvilág hihetetlenül jó, egyszerűen beülsz a moziba, és egy olyan hatalmas, gyönyörű és vad világ elevenedik meg előtted, hogy már csak vizuálisan is a székbe nyomódsz az egésztől. Aztán ott van a film üzenete, a becsület, a hűség, a tisztelet és a kettős történetvezetés. itt nincs jó vagy gonosz oldal, maximum egyes oldalakon vannak pozitív vagy negatív karakterek, de ez a film kitör abból a tipikus sztereotípiából, amibe a fantasyk nagy része beleesik, tehát abból, hogy van egy csillivilli, csicsás jó oldal a szép emberekkel, meg törpökkel, meg van a gonosz oldal a csúnyább fajokkal. Na itt ilyen nincs, vannak ilyen-olyan karakterek mindkét oldalnál, de ettől függetlenül képes vagy arra, hogy minkét oldal egy-egy pozitív szereplőjével azonosulni tudj, és ez a filmnek egy hatalmas erénye. A kritikusok előszeretettel fikázzák a színészi teljesítményt, aminek talán lenne némi alapja, azonban azt is vegyük figyelembe, hogy hatalmas világot akar bemutatni 2 órában ez az egész alkotás, és a színészeknek nagyon kevés idejük van 2 órában normálisan építeni a karaktereiket. Nekem egyedül a vágással van problémám, nagyon sokszor érthetetlen helyzetekbe kerülnek karakterek, és a vágások miatt nem tudjuk, hogy miért került x ember oda, ahol épp látjuk. Vagy a vágások miatt sok karakter csak lóg a levegőben, mert amikor kezdene érdekes lenni, mondjuk egy monológ saját magáról, akkor nyissz... Sajna ezek nem túl jó dolgok, viszont lesz egy 30 perccel hosszabb rendezői változat, azt érdemes megvenni. VISZONT MIDNEZEKTŐL FÜGGETLENÜL, a cselekmény pörgős, remek, a látványvilág szerintem simán veri az Avatart meg a Hobbitot, a karakterekkel MINDKÉT OLDALRÓL könnyen lehet azonosulni, a cselekmény érthető, és ez a film komolyan extázist okoz. Legalább is nálam azt okozott, egyszerűen van egy különös hatása, bár én például wowozok, én látom naponta a filmben felépített helyszíneket a játékban, szóval persze, hogy rám úgy hat ez a realisztikus, valóságos ábrázolás, hogy összeesek tőle. Viszont laikusoknak is tetszik, hülyeség az, hogy csak a fanoknak készült ez a film. Nem... Laikus is menjen el nyugodtan, mert meg fogja érteni, és jól fog szórakozni, remek kis film ez. Nem kell a kritikusokra hallgatni.

Me and my brother just watched this, and both loved it. Critics failed imo. I mean if you know the story it seems impossible not to enjoy it for one, and even if you didn't I can see this easily being as entertaining as a game of thrones.

I thought the movie was amazing and i do not play Warcraft. Sure its no lord of the rings but i would watch this again over the recent marvel heroes movies like Civil War.

The critics are completely wrong on this one. I hope they make a sequel!

Many critic reviews that I see bash the movie for being a video game adaptation or simply being eye candy. What critics don't understand is that it's not meant to be an industry changing movie, they are used to seeing movies that belong to ultra-famous franchises and are hyped for years while being created by the uber famous with multi-million dollar budgets. Warcraft has performed adamantly against the negative storm of reviews released by critics. From the very start is has been limited by an already established lore that if fully explored could span 20+ movies. The team has managed to pack large amount of detail into the 2 hour movie, many people complain that there was no depth of character. They should they ask themselves one question, would they rather see a movie that spends half of its time explaining backstory, or a movie packed with action scenes, with great characters, story and dialogue all the while utilizing beautiful and advanced animation and effects. My conclusion, it is a great movie that excels in every aspect that is well worth the time and money. There is so much potential for additional movies built up it the Warcraft universe and hopefully these movies will be just as good as the first. It was an amazing film that has been robbed of credit by overqualified and self worshiping critics who are obsolete and little more than modern day doomsayers waving their "reviews" around in desperate hopes of catching the eye of readers.… Expand

Regarding visual presentation: This film is worth watching solely on the strength of its visual effects. The motion capture for the orcs is amazing, and the magic effects are the best representation I've seen on screen in any film, ever. Regarding the plot: Do you remember when Inception came out, and many critics reported that it was a confusing movie that required multiple viewings to make sense of it? And then do you remember watching it, and thinking those critics were out to lunch? The same is true of Warcraft. Coming into the film as a non-fan, the film has a pretty straightforward plot, and anything that's left unexplained isn't really necessary for understanding that plot. You'd have to be pretty dim to not be able to figure out what's going on.… Expand

You can just FEEL the passion that Duncan Jones and the rest of the crew had for all things WC throughout the entire movie. Duncan Jones has even said in an interview "ya i was forced to cut out 40 mins that I think should still be in it...and youll see that in the directors cut which will tell a much fuller story"
It definitely had pacing issues as they simply had too much content for 2 hours... but honestly this was a movie by the fans, and for the fans of the WC universe.… Expand

Из актеров особо порадовал Лотар-Рогнар, по мне Фиммел сыграл очень даже неплохо. Твердая восьмерка, для меня как поклонника warcraft 3, но ставлю 10 чтобы восстановить справедливость.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Heute hab ich ihn gesehen, den lange erwarteten Warcraft Film.
Zuerst ging ich mit gemischten Gefühlen in den Film.
Für viele, mich ebenso, ist Warcraft mehr als ein Spiel, ein Film oder ein Buch.
Wie der größte Teil der "alten World of Warcraft Generation" bin ich in die Geschichte mit Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos eingetaucht.
Wie die meisten habe ich mich auch mehr dem Multiplayer als der Story gewidmet.
Doch mit Frozen Throne hat sich das geändert.
Die Geschichte über den Prinzen der sein Volk retten will und im Kampf selbst zu dem Übel wird welches er zu bekämpfen schwor hat mich gefesselt.
Dadurch bin ich tiefer eingetaucht. Las all die Geschichten, spielte jede Kampagne.
All die Geschichten.. vom Nachtelf der 10000 Jahre in Gefangenschaft verbringt.
Vom Moses-Gladiator-Jesus namens Thrall, welcher aufgewachsen bei den Menschen zum Retter, Helden und Anführer der Orcs wird.
Und all die Geschichten aus Büchern, Comics und der riesigen "World of Warcraft" haben ein Universum erschaffen größer als Star Wars, Star Trek und Herr der Ringe zusammen.
Den Gedanken an einen Warcraft Film gibt es sicher schon seit 20 Jahren, konkret sicher seit 10 (spätestens eben dem Erfolg von World of Warcraft).
Dieser Hype für den Film hielt sich auch sicher über 10 Jahre. Nach der Ankündigung waren alle überwältigt.
Auch das was man konkret zu sehen bekam war sehr vielversprechend. Die Auswahl von Regisseur über Schauspieler, Komponist, Studio, alles schien sehr Vielversprechend.
Was mir sorge und gemischte Gefühle bereitete, auch meinen Hype etwas bremste waren diese echt BESCHISSENEN Trailer. Mit dieser ekelhaften Dubstep-Musik.
Zum Glück gab Duncan Jones (Regisseur) einen sehr einleuchtenden Tweet dazu ab, das beruhigte mich wieder etwas.
(und ja davon gab es nichts im Film, der Komponist ist der gleiche wie der von Game of Thrones (Ramin Djiwadi) und der Soundtrack is bekanntlich überragend)
[MED SPOIL man könnte diese Eindrücke eventuell als medium Spoiler empfinden, da ich konkret den Film aber nicht den Inhalt bewerte]
Doch nun zum Film.
Da saß ich also mit meinen gemischten Gefühlen und quälte mich durch die Werbung. (gern hätt ich ein Overwatch Short darin gesehen...)
Der Film lief.. und von Szene zu Szene war ich überwältigt, begeistert, verwirrt, überwältigt, verwirrt, begeistert.
Die Effekte.. der Hammer! Die schauspielerische Leistung WOAH, ich bin dermaßen überrascht von solch großartiger Leistung dieser Schauspieler.
Der Soundtrack, als ob Game of Thrones und World of Warcraft zusammen ein Kind zeugen.
Alleine das macht den Film für mich schon nahezu perfekt. Es war das was ich mir erwünscht habe. All das erfüllt sein absolutes Potential, mit noch mehr versprechender Zukunft.
Nun das, was umzusetzen unglaublich schwer ist: Die Story, die Geschichte von Warcraft.
Es war zu 100% klar, dass es Abweichungen geben MUSS. Alleine die Komplexizität des Zeitraums in dem der Film spielt (die Öffnung des ersten Portals auf Azeroth)
mit all den darin stattfindenden Handlungssträngen könnte 3-6 Filme füllen.
Von der Ankunft der Draenei/Ex-Eredar auf Draenor bis zum Tod von Ilane Wrynn, das füllt 10 Game of Thrones Staffeln.
Also musste man Kompromisse eingehen. Auch muss man bedenken, dass der Film nicht nur für WoW-Spieler gemacht ist sondern für ALLE.
Und das ist er auch, für ALLE und für jeden ist der Film gut. Für Fans wie für "Unwissende".
Klar habe ich ab und an den Kopf geschüttelt weil ich diesen als wichtig empfundenen Teil der Story eben anders in Erinnerung hab.
Aber es verletzt nicht den Gedanken den ich an das Warcraft Universum halte.
Es behält die Kontinuität, das Gesamtbild und reicht es in einer wunderbaren Form dar.
Ich empfand lediglich eine Szene als Logikfehler doch mir wäre auch nichts besseres eingefallen und für den normalen Zuschauer war es sinnvoll wahrzunehmen.
Am ende bleibt zu sagen: Ich fand den Film klasse, er erfüllte alles was ich mir erwartete und ich hoffe dass es einen zweiten Teil geben wird.
Dieses Potential muss weiter genutzt werden!… Expand

I think the critics are getting it wrong. The fans love it - Isn't that what a movie should be made for? It should be made not for critical acclaim but enjoyment. I really don't think the critics really get this movie.

I don't know why there is so much hate about this movie, it is an epic movie, full of action and history. As a WOW player i watched on IMAX and I had a blast a really good movie.

Wow never going to trust critic reviews again, they have no idea what a good movie is. I mean don't get it me wrong its not the best movie in history, but it deserves far better reviews than it has gotten. Can't wait for the sequel! A superb film! I was not a fan of Warcraft but after seeing the movie, I became one! I started reading the novel 'Rise of the Horde' and I totally fell in love with the lore! I'm currently reading 'The LastCan't wait for the sequel! A superb film! I was not a fan of Warcraft but after seeing the movie, I became one! I started reading the novel 'Rise of the Horde' and I totally fell in love with the lore! I'm currently reading 'The Last Guardian' and I know am about to behold a great work of art, a masterpiece!

Btw, I'm from the Philippines and movie-goers here, both gamers and non-gamers, loved this! I did a little research and countries like China, Russia, and Germany receive this movie quite well! But America? Uhm, I don't know. Critics gave it a 20+% review and The Conjuring 2 sells seats faster?! What are you doing? Please treat Warcraft with the respect that it deserves! I'm trying to understand the criticisms but for now I just want a sequel! Have a nice day! :)… Expand

And they call themselves professionals, tut tut....It's got everything a good sword and magic movie requires. So 10 to the top because the reader will benefit greatly from learning that the critics are playing soggy biscuit behind the scenes.… Expand

Thoroughly enjoyed. As a fan of the game and the books, it was a really classy adaption. I can understand it won't be everyone's cup of tea, especially not knowing any of the lore. Critics be damed!!! The Warcraft movie was for the fans by the fans! Never have I seen a game-to-movie adaptation that felt it was made with only fans in mind. 10/10, just because lots of ignorant people trying to sabotage this masterpiece. I like the idea of making minor changes on the original story, keeps the story fresh and makes it more interesting for those who already know the lore.

Critics are pretty harsh with this movie. I went there with 2 friends, we played the game from 2004-2010.
After reading all those negative reviews from Real Critics **** them) I taught this was going to be pretty bad.

This is a great movie, just as I expected! I can't understand why critics compare this movie with others, such Lord of the Rings. I will say that I was really skeptical walking in to this, and that this movie might not be for not-fans of the Warcraft franchise, but having played Warcraft 3 and WoW since vanilla, I gotta say GOD DAMN! This movie was so good, and wasI will say that I was really skeptical walking in to this, and that this movie might not be for not-fans of the Warcraft franchise, but having played Warcraft 3 and WoW since vanilla, I gotta say GOD DAMN! This movie was so good, and was packed with fanservice in the form of location, lore pieces and references. The some times cheesy lines actually made it better, as that's how we know and love Warcraft.

Amazing film! if u love game(warcraft trilogy), lore u must see this film. Orcs cool, Lotar best. I wanted to see director's cut, becouse lot of storyline is lost. 10 out of 10.

As a fan wanting to see a movie of this series since World of Warcraft's release in 2005, I was blown away. This movie is an epic entry into this franchise and is largely based on the Warcraft books with small departures. This movie is an epic entry into this franchise and is largely based on the Warcraft books with small departures. Of course this is only a taste of what this franchise has to offer with 30 years of lore to run with and sets up a back ground for some epic events and characters to come. I went to see this film with both people who I played World of Warcraft with and people that knew nothing about the games or books and everyone in my group absolutely loved it. The critical reviews are harsh on this film and are not justified in my honest opinion. The only thing I felt could have been better was a stronger emotional build for some of the characters like Lothar's son. The film met my high expectations and I can't wait to watch it again. I look forward to more movies in this expansive universe.… Expand

This movie, in case you were unaware, is set during the time of Warcraft 1. The original. The movie does not even make it to the events of Warcraft 2. So for all you WoW powerhouses with no knowledge of the preceding RTS lore, don't blame the movie for not being what you were perhaps expecting.… Expand

I've been to the theatre to see the movie twice which is something I may have only done one other time. I am a fan of Warcraft which I am sure amplifies the movie enjoyment, however my girlfriend is not a fan and she actually really liked itI've been to the theatre to see the movie twice which is something I may have only done one other time.
