I love the way they tied in aspects of the original Jurassic park. I was pleasantly surprised. I will go back to see it in 3-D. Bryce Dallas Howard star is really on the rise.

A great contender for one of the best films of the year.
Jurassic World was a great movie for 2015, the special effects were amazing, the story felt just like the first Jurassic Park but optimized. There were quite a few references to the original, some are hard to find and others you can tell straight that it was a reference.
The script seemed odd and little lacking but I still didn't really mind about it. The movie keeps you suck to your seat with scenes that may make you shiver a little. The films choices of who dies and who doesn't matches with who you may think that would die but some deaths I didn't really think were very necessary or just the wrong way for them to die.

Overall the film is a blast. I had alot of fun watching it, it was entertaining, amazing and thrilling.
Jurassic World is a great film I highly recommend it.

Not as good as the first one, but the moment I heard the original Jurassic Park theme I was overwhelmed of nostalgia. And the last 15 minutes of this movie is silly, but so awesome! This movie still had it's cheesy and stupid moments. Also, there was a bit too much advertisement for products and company names like Mercedes and Imax. Still, the movie was a blast to watch, although I doubt that it will be a movie that I will be able to watch several times. All the homages, references, awesome classic dinosaurs, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's acting and the cool new Indominus Rex compensates brilliantly for the bad jokes and hilariously bad acting that there was from time to time. I definitely would reccomend this to any fan of Jurassic Park. You will certainly be stunned by nostalgia. I even teared up a bit when the legendary theme played. Check it out! Expand

In movie sequels high expectations usually mean high disappointment.
I came into the theatre knowing that the 90's are behind us forever but, somehow life found tis way.
But how do you write a sequel to such a beloved classic and, somehow try not to mess up?
Well by rembering what made the first such a beloved classic in the first place, and to me, it will alyways be two things:
- the sense of wonder for
- the ethical dilemma: is science going to far?
JP 2 and 3 lacked these points, and it resulted in a mindless monster chase where people were just there to be eaten and dinosaurs could have been easily replaced with a screaming banana.
In jurassic wold both the audience and the characters are enough genre savy to understand what is going on around them, so in a new, fully operational park we recreate the sense of wonder by the Point of view of Gray, a child who sees dinosaurs for the first time.
It is worth noting that he never uses smartphones to take pictures, he experiences the world through his eyes.
In a world where lack of excitment is a plot point, the "greedy corporatives" who speak by numbers and focus groups try to shake things up by messing up with nature itself.
A new creature, an hybrid, to reinvigorate the excitmente, is the trigger that makes the plot explode.
Of course we know what will happen, of course we know that characters have plot armor but the execution of the movie is good enough to let suspend our disbelief.
We root for this characters to survive, we root for the dinosaurs for the right to "live".
We choose a side when the movie presents questions like "is science an accoplishment or is it playing god?".
We all saw the trailer, and some decisions could go either way: insanely awesome or insanely stupid.
The movie walks this thin line, especially with the raptors and I was surprised how they managed to mess this up.
The ending of the climax though, gets a little bit too awkward because of these decisions.
Overall, without spoiling plot or something, I highly recomend this movie, it is a worthy sequel of a classic and brings enough new things to the table to keep things fresh and interesting.

Amazing two hour roller coaster ride, especially fantastic in IMAX 3D. You definitely get what you should expect, action, action and more action. Chris Pratt is hilarious, and the special effects are top notch.

You should have put 3 to 4 of the main original cast members in this movie. Google why the original cast members WEREN'T ALOUD BACK IN THIS MOVIE. What were you thinking? I have the answer. You weren't thinking. Game over, unsalvageable. Unless you can pull a rabbit out of your as*! The trailers work better than the movie. Too many flaws to mention. But I will mention 1 or 2. Earliest trailers included Ed Hammonds funeral. Remember him. The one to have the dream of Jurassic Park. The AW of Jurassic Park was great. Which made " Jurassic Park " so special to us 22 years ago. Jurassic World killed this franchise. This was to be a family movie, yeah right. This is nothing even close to that. This movie is nothing more then at best a B rated blood bath horror flick. No feeling of family here to be seen, except for the two brothers bonding. Watch Jurassic Park 1, Then watch Jurassic World. Then tell me which one gave you a sense of dreams, brought a tear to your eye and gave you a sense of family morals. Jurassic World has not one of these important values to surface in our days now that what we need back so desperately in our lives today, except for the two brothers bonding. This is what a life long friend of mine had to say. 1st movie she has seen in 22 years. Keep that in mind. Nancy Kraft stated on Facebook.
Mabel and I went to see the Jurassic World last night and were thoroughly entertained, unlike my friend Mark, that would be me. We must have seen two different movies. Either that or I am just starved for cinematic amusement. I don't go to the movies that often but I was totally enthralled with the film. I loved the CGI effects and the story was... ok. Thumbs up from me. I mean seriously, it only needs a one word review... DINOSAURS! My Response: Well my friend Nancy, got two thing right. Starved for Cinematic Amusement. And CGI was good. Movie never picked up. Where is left off. Never gave time to care about the actors. There is nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree. The trailers work better than the movie. Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard the film plays as a direct sequel to the original “Jurassic Park” released 22 years ago this week. Both “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” & “Jurassic Park III” are still considered a part of the shared universe but neither of the latter films are referenced. Instead “Jurassic World” plays up the nostalgia of the first film and has many included references. The film is definitely a must see of the summer and does play better than both of the previous sequels. Unfortunately it cannot compete with the awe and wonder one felt watching the first film in the series back in 1993. A simple formula is followed in this film which should surprise no one. Man creates dinosaurs, dinosaurs eat man, man brings Chris Pratt in to fight dinosaurs, and scene. As simple as it sounds though it still works. Pratt is the real deal and the whole time I was watching the film I felt like I was watching an audition tape for a new Indiana Jones movie. The man is fun to watch and believable in his role. Bryce Dallas Howard flies under the radar early in the film but then really starts to shine as the film goes on. Her character was also the most unbelievable element in a film full of dinosaurs though by being in high heels the entire time. The supporting cast was good with Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus, and “Jurassic Park” alum BD Wong. I especially liked Khan’s role as Simon Masrani. D’Onofrio’s character was interesting before turning into a walking cliché by the third act. Now onto my only real gripe with the film, the kids. The performances were fine but I found neither actor, Ty Simpkins or Nick Robinson, to be charismatic or enthralling in any way. I didn’t care what was happening to them or what was going on in their lives. It is another pointless child inclusion storyline that Hollywood includes in their films because I guess they think it appeals to a broader audience. I must say though when I was a kid I didn’t care about if there were kids in the movie in a significant role. I just wanted to see whatever the heroes were doing against the dinosaurs, monsters, aliens, etc. This brings me to the thing we all want to see, the dinosaurs. They were thrilling and wonderful to see as always. I felt the rush of excitement from my 8-year old self finally getting to see an Ankylosaurus, one of my favorite dinosaurs growing up, in action on the big screen. By the end of the film everything culminates into a fantastic dino-action scene; high heels and all. So go to the theater, grab that rail seat, and kick up your feet for an enjoyable dinosaur experience. Don’t blink or you’ll miss Jeff Goldblum and Jimmy Buffet’s small inclusions. Buffet’s was especially humorous. Expand

It's just one big mess of a CGI-filled bonanza. There's just no beating the lifelike animatronics that the first movie employed. I'm not against CGI in particular, but I feel that too much CGI just ruins the movie for me. I'll give props to the movie because it was enjoyable, and it is a thrill ride, but it's just that. There were times where it got my heart racing, but after that, it takes a nosedive back into "meh" territory. With that said, Jurassic World is just that; a "meh" movie. Expand

Chris Pratt is good in the lead and Bryce Dallas Howard's character has much more to it. This movie is flat out BONKERS, sh*t flies in your face, the TREX eats everyone in his path, and cause sh*t to explode every minute to remind you, that you paid the 3D extra. Look, its not the best and not a masterpeice, but for what it is, Director Colin Trevrorrow delivers us the same formula which made the older movies such golden hits, he excutes it with cheesiness, expolsions and a hint of terror and emotion. Jurrasic World puts to the table, John Hammond's vision of the Park redisgined, boy does it look spectacular. Isla Nubar is the Disneyland for kids of the generation. It was very cool to give it a theme park vibe and that surpasses the original theme park a million times. Technology has advanced and Jurassic Park has aged with grainy picture shots and laughable technology gizmos, but it worked. World features stuff that is attracting to our generation. I remember watching it on VHS and just loving every single moment, well acted and directed movie, Jurassic Park. Jurassic World is a fun movie, some pf the most fun I have had at the movies in a long time. But it goes over the top sometimes, and that is why it is so cheesy. But it clicks. Watch it in 3D. You will LOVE it. Expand

The stories about the humans were incomplete and did not seem to flow between scene to scene making it seem as though there were gaps of film left out. The filmmakers should have kept the focus on the dinosaurs and left out the human's incomplete stories; like Planet of the Apes does. Now THAT would be interesting! Expand

However this movie was not without flaws but let's start with the positives: Chris Pratt was by far the best character in the movie and this role cements him, in my opinion, as a young star. The action was well directed and there was good comedy relief throughout the movie. The new dinosaur worked as well. The negatives are that the cgi was not convincing in some shots and I feel like directors can't just rely on cgi these days. Spielberg understood that you need to have machine dinosaurs that look perfect in close up shots. There are also two boys in this movie that didn't really add anything and kinda dragged the movie down when I wanted the movie to focus on chris and killing the dinosaurs. Also, the opening shot of the park where the iconic music starts was just embarrasingly underwhelming. I mean the song was playing when it shows the park and the inside of a hotel! Whoopdi Doo! I didn't watch the movie to see real estate! Another thing, I mean the movie doesn't address, at all, how the hell the lawyers and the government allowed this park to be reopened after the catastrophes of the past. With all that said I highly recommend you watch the movie. It's a great time. Expand

Was it as good as the original? No not even close because back then we had never seen dinosaurs come back to life so realistically. So basically coming in we knew what to expect as far as the story goes. Kids sent to a relative in Jurassic World, this time an Aunt as opposed to Grandfather John Hammond. Every precaution is taken to protect the guests but as we all know the guests are food for the nothing can go wrong dinosaur theme park. Chris Pratt as the hero recreates the same character as in the blockbuster hit Guardian's Of The Galaxy, a modern day Harrison Ford if you will. Whatever can go wrong does go wrong. And Chris Pratt's character comes to the rescue for the kids and falls in love with the ice cold Aunt who happens to be the director of the park. It's just a great popcorn flick for the entire family. The special affects are absolutely outstanding. Look for this movie to take in over $100 million dollars this opening weekend. Fun movie everyone should enjoy as long as you know going in it's feeding time for the dinosaurs. Expand

The effects may be a slight down grade, but the plot is actually half way decent, there are actually some good performances, especially Chris Pratt and while it can get a bit convoluted at times, it’s not actually that bad. This has been an excellent kick off to the summer season and gives hope for future films. It’s not perfect by any means, but I would say if you enjoyed the first film, you will enjoy this one as well. The film is slightly open ended, suggesting there may be a 5th one on the horizon, to which I say NO, quit while you are ahead! Expand

If you enjoy said Summertime spectacles, you'll love Jurassic World, the Jurassic Park sequel we've been wanting for over two decades. If you enjoy deeply complex plots, political commentary, or lofty character driven historical dramas then you'll pick apart everything about this movie that doesn't compare with "Citizen Kane" or "The King's Speech" (both of which I also happen to like. Heaven forbid people embrace numerous film genres.) The characters are likeable (as always for Chris Pratt), the plot is pretty straight forward, the special effects are great, the music is moving, and apart from the relatively slower intro (it's probably just under half an hour until we see an actual full shot of a dinosaur) the last hour and a half keep you enjoyably entertained. The last 20 minutes alone are, for lack more flowery language, very cool!

Bottom line: Jurassic World is a fun summer film with enough thrills and chills to keep you entertained for just enough time; it doesn't feel too short or too long.

The script threw logic out the window.
The characters were hilarious bad.

Another positve aspect is, that It was not to childish, in fact I think it was quite brutal for a 12+ rating.
There were many bad things about the film, for instance, the worst 3D effect I have ever scene, with some scenes, where the vfx were obviously unfinished.
However, the only important thing is, the film was fun and beautiful to watch.

The something was very lacking about the two previous sequels Lost World and III, something this movie brings back somewhat. Basically being in a Theme Park setting for me does half the job of making this movie something special.

The story is simple and gets you a decent setting to give characters room to have a story in, nothing is revolutionary there. You are taking to seeing another park get destroyed this time with more spectacle and on a larger canvas.

The casting is generally great and the actors play their roles well, I never felt the main female star was right and looked a little odd for me, but she does ok and gets the story where is needs to go. Chris Pratt is good but was better in Guardians and Lego, maybe just used to him now. The two kids do well and aren't quite Lex and Tim but aren't the annoying kids from Lost World or III.

The special effects are industry standard and wow at times. The new hybrid isn't amazing still the T-Rex and velociraptor's look better, but is was original.

The nods to the old park were my favourite bits, id love to see more and how the new park was build.

Overall Happy and will be getting this on Blueray ASAP!

ChrisEverybody knows exactly what they're getting into with this movie, so no point in anybody complaining about it not being Oscar worthy. It's Jurassic Park reloaded, it follows the same design idea as the first flick, but in a good way. Chris brings the comedy and heroics, Bryce brings the surprisingly authentic awkward-but-likeable (and by no means helpless) support, and the other characters fit their rolls nicely (especially Jake Johnson), even if they are far from fleshed out or engaging. Dinosaurs will run amock, people will get hurt, CGI will get all up in your face. But when you sit back and take it for what it is, it's more than just enjoyable, it's a full on rollercoaster ride of Dino indulgence. Be warned, they like to get nice and cheesey at times! Expand

For Jurassic World, the hype and the expectations were staggering. Can it beat the original? Can it put the other two non satisfying sequels to shame? The answer is that one of these objectives was accomplished while one will perhaps never be accomplished. Jurassic World takes place 20 years after the original "accident" with Hammond's park thriving with attendance and focus groups, everything we've come to expect from Corporate America (wink wink). To help boost attendance, or perhaps wallets, a new hybrid will be debuting. The problem is the hybrid has been kept in isolation and soon figures out, I don't deserve to be in a cage I deserve to create havoc. While much of the plot seems unoriginal, credit must be given to the filmmakers for paying homage to Spielberg. As Spielberg continues to make movies, his style of filmmaking becomes quite present and in return, if one follows the blueprint, you have an homage. This is not an unsatisfying reboot, but certainly does not live up to expectations. Expand

Between the forced love story and the obvious product placement, the genetically modified dinosaurs, and the bad one liners, this movie pulls itself in too many directions to be taken seriously. The only deccent parts are nods to the original. Expand

original, but take that with the grain of salt that going in you don't
expect too much originality. That being said while not very original,
the stakes in this film are higher than in the original, as the first
film dealt with 15 or so people on the island, this movie deals with
thousands. In the end I found the plot to have enough twists to keep me
interested, the movie had a surprising amount of humor (including a
hilarious Jimmy Fallon cameo), and an awesome climax.

Colin Trevorrow has done justice to the franchise, not as thrilling and suspenseful as the first, but better than The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3. The special effects are extremely well done, particularly the raptors and the new dinosaur. There are great references to the first film, which many die hard fans will like. Its great to see a large variety of dinosaurs in the film. Chris Pratt does a tremendous job as the leading man. Once the main action starts it does not stop, visually dazzling and brilliant action sequences! Expand

Nothing can match the heights of the original, but Jurassic World cleverly realises that and diverts all of its attention into being a non-stop, exciting and most importantly FUN thrill ride.

Embarrassing.
They want to continue to make believe that it is a documentary, while it's only a fanta"scientific" mess.

Dinosaurs? No, there aren't.

The visual effects were amazing a looked really clean and realistic you can tell the spent a lot of time detailing the dinosaurs. This movie kept me wanting more and made me want to visit the park myself. Also the easter eggs were amazing! Expand

I would say its better than Jurassic Park 3, but I don't think it actually belongs in the same category. This is more along the lines of what Space Balls is to Star Wars. It nitpicks at all the fiddly bits, exaggerates the tropes, and goes for the ridiculous. It's like someone played one of the Jurassic Park arcade shooter games and then wrote a fan-fic off of that.

It was enjoyable, but it wasn't a Jurassic Park film.

Firstly Jurassic Park is one of my all time favourite movies. I saw it when I was 11 and loved it ever since. As for the sequels, The Lost World is watch-able and Jurassic Park III does not even deserve the JP title. The series lost its way and you would have been forgiven for thinking, as I did, that any more sequels would have no chance of being halfway decent. It defies reason then that Trevorrow can come to this franchise with only one film under his belt and produce the best sequel to Jurassic Park. Not only that but Trevorrow set out to recreate the feeling of what it was like to watch the first film back in 1993 and for me he damn near succeeded. The only thing that stopped it feeling like a full 1993 nostagia package was that I had seen the dinosaurs before. Everything I had been concerned with in the trailers just works. Chris Pratt and the Raptors - its great! The I-Rex is genuinely the scariest creature since JP's T-Rex. And as for the T-Rex, his reappearance later in the movie was entirely predictable, highly anticipated and awesome. The whole film feels like a breath of fresh air with a promising future that entirely ignores parts two and three. I can't wait to see it again . . . it can't be as good as I remember can it? Expand

Plenty of humor keeps things on the lighter side and an epic ending made the two hours of sitting worth while. It could have been better, but I'm in no way sorry I saw it in theaters. It was a little tough not thinking about "Starlord" with how Chris Pratt's character was developed. Hopefully this is where JP ends, there's nothing good left to mine out of this franchise, unless Jeff Goldblum wants to get back in the saddle and chuckle half the script away ;) Expand

Well, you can start by sticking to the template, and doing everything right. Jurassic World is a thrill ride. It's a roller coaster, pure and simple. It's made by newbie Trevorrow, and his love for the material quickly shines through. Watch out for this guy..he's talented. A lot of the critics seemed to be jaded by this film. Maybe they expect more character development? Well, the original didn't have it as well. But what we have here are younger, more attractive casts, including new A-liter Chris Pratt. But heck..the main stars were always the dinosaurs, and here they are brilliant beyond measure. 2015 proves to be a banner year for Universal, and this flick seals the deal even further. Another billion dollar blockbuster? You bet. Expand
