Nothing can match the heights of the original, but Jurassic World cleverly realises that and diverts all of its attention into being a non-stop, exciting and most importantly FUN thrill ride.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The movie is a nostalgic feast of epic proportions. It's beautifully made, its plot is generic but doesn't fail to entertain and Pratt and Howard dazzle, and the climatic finale fight sequence is mind-blowing and the best fight scene in the Jurassic Park franchise. One of the years very best films. Expand

Anyway, having said that, I enjoyed this one. Chris Pratt was very good in it and so was Bryce Dallas Howard. There were, of course, a few flaws: There's this thing where the kids' parents are getting divorced that doesn't have any relevance to the plot, the ending line fell flat and-the most ridiculous thing-how on earth was Bryce Dallas Howard able to outrun a friggin' T-Rex in HIGH HEELS? But, problems aside, the movie delivered just what I wanted-people running for their lives while getting chased by dinosaurs. I don't know how it compares to the first movie but it's an entertaining film all the same. Expand

I felt at times the plot was way too convenient for the main characters, like how those kids never died mid way through , how they got that car working, how the T-Rex just happened to fight the other dinosaur and not kill anyone else plus not destroying anything else, it seemed way too convenient.

The story was pretty good, the suspense was minimal but present, the action was great, the effects were stunning, acting was pretty good. Overall pretty good movie, 7/10

"Jurassic World" 10 Scale Rating: 7.0 (Good) ...

The Good: Chris Pratt is on fire right now, and it's easy to see why. His screen presence and charisma really shine through here and he's become a bona fide leading man. Like it's predecessor 22 years ago, Jurassic World has effects that are ahead of it's time and were absolutely dazzling. Like the first film, I expect the look of this film to stand the test of time. Initially I was dubious about Pratt's character and his ability to "train" the raptors. That aspect was actually very well done and realistic ... well ... as realistic as such a film can be. They were also able to explain why the dinosaurs and their appearance have not progressed with what science has learned. I appreciated that and the explanation made sense. No feathers on the dinos, but the reason why was completely acceptable. Ultimately, Jurassic World is a solid action film. It's a good start to a re-launched franchise and a fun popcorn flick.

The Bad: A handful of things prevent the film from truly being great though. For starters, despite the decent build up, the story unravels and makes less sense. After all that occurred in the previous films, the people behind the dinosaurs and the park itself are still careless and greedy. It's a story beat that I wish would stop repeating itself. On that same note, several scenes are repeats of things we have already seen in the original trilogy. I wouldn't mind an ode or two, but it seemed to happen far too often. I would have liked a little more originality. Lastly, the supporting cast was hit and miss. Bryce Dallas Howard was horrid in a lead role and I kept wanting her to get eaten. She was vapid, unintelligent, and annoying. The children (placed in the movie to be saved ... repeatedly) were also uninteresting and somewhat off-putting. Like I said, it's a solid Summer film, but it could have been so much more.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Some of the acting in this movie landed it a lower score, plus the flying dinosaurs attacking people part didnt really make too much sense. The scripts/storyline weren't really level with the visuals. However, the graphics were incredible and the battle scenes keeps you out of your seat!--especially the last fighting scene between the dinosaurs~~i really didn't expect the ending and it was so awesome. Overall, it's an action-packed movie, and worth your money at the big screens if you're all about seeing thrill. Expand

Once the action starts, it gets you pumped, and you feel genuinely terrified of the films main villian (Indominus Rex). It has some pretty good acting, and the humor is not forced or in your face. The ending is a great call back to original Jurassic Park fans, with the T-Rex, or Rexy. The final battle is intense and well done. Overall great film. Expand

However, after watching the film, I can confidently say that it was a thrilling and entertaining addition to the franchise.

One of the standout features of the movie was the visual effects. The dinosaurs were incredibly realistic and the action scenes were well choreographed, which made for an immersive and thrilling experience. The setting of the park itself was also impressive, with the attention to detail adding to the believability of the world.

The cast of the movie was also excellent. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard both gave strong performances and had good chemistry onscreen. The supporting cast also added to the film, with memorable characters such as the villainous Hoskins, played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

While the plot of the movie was somewhat predictable and formulaic, it still managed to keep me engaged throughout. The pacing was well done, with plenty of action interspersed with moments of humor and character development.

Overall, I would highly recommend Jurassic World to fans of the franchise and anyone looking for a thrilling, action-packed movie experience. While it may not reach the heights of the original Jurassic Park, it is still a worthy addition to the series and a fun ride for audiences of all ages.

original, but take that with the grain of salt that going in you don't
expect too much originality. That being said while not very original,
the stakes in this film are higher than in the original, as the first
film dealt with 15 or so people on the island, this movie deals with
thousands. In the end I found the plot to have enough twists to keep me
interested, the movie had a surprising amount of humor (including a
hilarious Jimmy Fallon cameo), and an awesome climax.

Fast paced, fun action sequences were peppered with just enough gore to envoke those same feelings of heart stopping horror/thrill experienced in the first film. The CGI was generally good, though not brilliant, and the set design and cinematography were fantastic. The dialogue was witty and somewhat self-aware, which added a nice balance of humour to the film, and the performances were great from all cast members. The storyline was borderline ridiculous, but then, it wouldn't be a Jurassic Park movie if it wasn't. Well worth seeing on the big screen, this was a fantastic experience. 8.13/10 Expand

The effects may be a slight down grade, but the plot is actually half way decent, there are actually some good performances, especially Chris Pratt and while it can get a bit convoluted at times, it’s not actually that bad. This has been an excellent kick off to the summer season and gives hope for future films. It’s not perfect by any means, but I would say if you enjoyed the first film, you will enjoy this one as well. The film is slightly open ended, suggesting there may be a 5th one on the horizon, to which I say NO, quit while you are ahead! Expand

It has been 22 years since Jurassic Park ushered in the modern age of computer generated imagery, becoming the first motion picture to use the then-cutting edge special effects technology to astound and amaze us. Director Steven SpielbergIt has been 22 years since Jurassic Park ushered in the modern age of computer generated imagery, becoming the first motion picture to use the then-cutting edge special effects technology to astound and amaze us. Director Steven Spielberg allowed us to believe that dinosaurs were real. Repetition made the second Jurassic Park installment, 1997's The Lost World, a step down and Universal's decision to cut the budget for the third movie, 2001's Jurassic Park III, seemingly put an end to the saga. However, after a 14-year gap, the T-Rexes, velociraptors, and their ilk are back. With Spielberg executive producing and Colin Trevorrow behind the lens, it's time to again return to a universe where amber-encased prehistoric mosquitoes have made it possible for extinct creatures to roam.

Jurassic World features only one returning character from the original trilogy - BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu - but that's not a drawback. All the necessary types are in place: Chris Pratt's Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire fill the heroic roles, Ty Simpkins' Gray and Nick Robinson's Zach are the annoying kids, Irrfan Khan is John Hammond's successor, and Vincent D'Onofrio is the unappealing military-type with his own agenda. Really, though, the Jurassic Park movies have never been about the human beings, be they Sam Neill's Alan Grant or Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcom. They have been about the dinosaurs. Jurassic World features plenty of call-backs to Jurassic Park (including, I assume, the same T-Rex) but there are no cameos for Neill or Goldblum.

This is the best of the Jurassic Park sequels and does a better job than episodes #2 and #3 in recreating the "feel" of the original. It starts by giving us some time to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of a fully working dinosaur amusement park - bigger than anything Hammond envisioned. Clearly, no expense has been spared. The tragedies of the original Jurassic Park are long past, buried and forgotten with the skeleton of the visitor center. The new version has been open for a decade - long enough that there are concerns about attendance waning. Dinosaurs are no longer enough. Customers want something bigger and meaner.

Despite having a slim resume (the quirky indie Safety Not Guaranteed), Trevorrow handles Jurassic World like a pro. He hits all the right notes, giving the two-dimensional characters as much heft as they deserve (which isn't much) and handling the action sequences like a seasoned veteran of Hollywood tent pole features. He references countless other monster movies, including obvious ones like King Kong and Godzilla and less evident choices like The Birds and (especially) Aliens. His style is part Spielberg/part Cameron.

Composer Michael Giacchino recognizes the importance of embracing John Williams' iconic themes rather than jettisoning them (as was done in Man of Steel). Guacchino gives us not only full orchestral renditions of the most noteworthy music but more subdued interpretations when those are appropriate. The dino-effects, both CGI and animatronic, are superior to those in the earlier Jurassic Park movies but that's not surprising considering how much things have advanced over the years. The 3-D is an utter and complete waste and is best avoided. It exists only because of the Hollywood mindset that all summer blockbusters must be released in 3-D to be considered legitimate.

Jurassic World leaves open the door for future installments but, while this is an enjoyable popcorn experience, it works best as a stand-alone follow-up. Trevorrow and his co-screenwriters deserve credit for milking two more worthwhile hours out of the Jurassic Park idea but there's nowhere else for the concept to go. It's played out. Another sequel would be folly. That's a future consideration, however (likely to be determined exclusively by $$). For now, there's only Jurassic World, which has taken the fossilized remains of a beloved franchise and given it a new life than many doubtlessly thought impossible.

It was a monster movie in the sense that many people got chomped or stepped on or knocked into trees. Nice touch of growing romance btwn main characters. The brothers seemed like realistic teens. The first two were incredible but the third film left a sour taste in most people's mouths so this movie had a lot on its plate. If it flopped it would've certainly been the end to this franchise for a long time until years down the road Hollywood gave it the inevitable remake treatment. However, if it succeeded in delivering a quality product that fans would enjoy, the sky was the limit. Well, lucky for us fans, it delivered a really good film. With regards to the cast, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do a great job as the male and female lead counterparts; Vincent D'Onofrio once again takes the role of the villain and he does so masterfully; Jake Johnson provides great comedic relief throughout the film (maybe too frequently to be honest); to be frank, the only weak part of the cast were the two child leads. In what has become an unfortunate cliche in this franchise, children were given too large of a role and they couldn't deliver the necessary emotions. The first film got lucky there... more often than not, banking a large portion of your film on the capabilities of child actors is a mistake. Thankfully this was not a movie entirely reliant on acting so it wasn't a grave error but trying to emulate the magic of the first definitely hurt the movie a bit. The film also failed to deliver quite the same edge-of-your-seat thriller experience that the first two did. A lot of that had to do with any sense of unknown being eliminated almost immediately. In the first movies, you rarely caught a glimpse of the "villains" (T-Rex or the Raptors) during the build-up of the suspense. This helped create a certain tension that really captured you. This movie doesn't manage to do that at all. Instead, Jurassic World is an action movie that has dinosaurs, humor, and solid acting. Essentially it felt like a 21st century superhero movie but instead of Iron-Man or Captain America it had Velociraptors and an Indominus Rex. The problem is, it shouldn't be that type of movie at all. Nonetheless, the action, the nods to the original film (which was probably my favorite part of the movie), and the dinosaurs devouring people makes this worth the price of entry. Just don't go in expecting it to building on the originals. Expand

The Characters are likeable, the action is phenomenal (I-Rex in particular) and the threat of the dinosaurs feels really intense (contrast to JP3 where the dinosaurs are not very intense). However, the dialogue in this movie is SOOOOOO FORCED!!! Some of the cheesiest dialogue I've ever seen in circumstances where it is just stupid to say that. There are also a couple action sequences forced for effect which is disappointing. That being said, this movie triumphs over the other sequels and is a fantastic thrill ride 60% of the time. Expand

Well, you can start by sticking to the template, and doing everything right. Jurassic World is a thrill ride. It's a roller coaster, pure and simple. It's made by newbie Trevorrow, and his love for the material quickly shines through. Watch out for this guy..he's talented. A lot of the critics seemed to be jaded by this film. Maybe they expect more character development? Well, the original didn't have it as well. But what we have here are younger, more attractive casts, including new A-liter Chris Pratt. But heck..the main stars were always the dinosaurs, and here they are brilliant beyond measure. 2015 proves to be a banner year for Universal, and this flick seals the deal even further. Another billion dollar blockbuster? You bet. Expand

Having screenwriters from Rise of the Planet of the Apes' franchise, the engineering field of genetic modification works efficiently on the historic extincted animals and at the same time allows the plot to stress on the greediness of human nature, the ethical and morality behind as well as the dire consequences. Scores from Michael Giacchino mostly remain the original theme composed by John Williams, creating a sense of revisiting the old park while performance of Chris Pratt sparks with his serious characteristic throughout the entire film. The story is further well balanced with intense action sequences, fury battle between the dinosaurs and splendid visual effects although there's a few scenes of obvious CGI flaws. Overall, director Colin Trevorrow has transformed this mid-range Spielberg efforts into a satisfying adventure much better than the previous two sequels - The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. Typically, remakes or sequels to a big movie like this can put fear in any viewer. So many have been butchered but I was not disappointed with this. I loved how it went back to the original film. It showed places from the first film that really gave me that nostalgia of seeing Jurassic Park in theaters when I was a kid. I absolutely loved the hybrid dinosaur idea and the fact they spliced several DNA sequences together to make something extremely intelligent and threatening. I loved how the new park was done and a lot of the new attractions (like that water dinosaur). I get some were disappointed because the dinosaurs were "unrealistic" to their true nature because most dinosaurs had feathers but if you listen closely you can hear them say "if we hadn't messed with their DNA sequencing, they would look much more different." The only reason I cut it down a point was because I did find a few things slightly unnecessary such as the older brother constantly texting and making "goo-goo" eyes at all of the other teenage girls at the park. He didn't even talk or come into contact with any of these girls so going out of the way to show his interest in them was kind of dumb.

Overall, I was proud of this movie, I did not regret spending money to see it, and I highly recommend it to any fan of the Jurassic park series.

It was clear from the start what the problem was going to be, but I found most of the movie was unpredictable and put me on the edge of my seat just when I was starting to feel comfortable there would be not jump scares.

This movie is another great example of what would happen if humans were to raise dinosaurs, but this movie faces the problem of what will happen if humans were to genetically modified a dinosaur to be a certain way, for example, a killing machine.

It reminded me our dim-witted humans are and could be if this were to ever happen in the future, and how we would have to be very careful to look after such incredible beasts that once ruled this planet.

I had no real complaints about the movie, I thought certain scenes where children were able to play, ride and feed baby dinosaurs was really cool and I was on the verge of tears when seeing many innocent dinosaurs get ripped to shreds. That Jurassic World!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When i first heard of the movie and the gene modification stuff, teaching dinosaurs and so, i got really worried. I thought that it could go the wrong way or in a good way.Fortunately, for me, it went the right direction. The Indomitus, the most proeminent aspect of that new approach isn't an aberration. Instead, he is clever, dangerous and use several natures best hunting tactics and, foremost, he hunts for sport! It's a unstoppable killing machine and impose a lot of fear. Speaking of which, i saw i different kind of terror/fear in this movie and i liked it! The deaths are pretty scary, mostly because the directors decisions about camera angles. But not only that, the soundtrack and the situations cause a large sensation of fear, it captured the fear of death right before people got caugth by their nemesis. It deviates from previous movies, which, for me, were much more cartooned-like. It's a psicologycal terror, the fear before death that really added to the more dark atmosphere of the movie. In this movie, i felt the wheight of the deaths, the effects on people and it impacted me a lot. Another point that i feared that could go the wrong way was the raptors training. I expected that they did that in a silly form, you know, like, "hey rex, go get that bone". But it wasn't like that at all. Instead, that aspect is very intriguing, and the spectator stays apprehensive all the time, because you never know if the raptors will attack or if they will act accordingly. Its very unpredictable and sounds very much like how it would be if that really happened, so is another point of the movie that overlapped my expectations. The plot is acceptable and so the carachters. A bonus and praise for Crhis Pratt, wich, for me made a solid carachter and conducted is role very well. His caracther is cool, without loose that sense of responsability. For those who says he could be more funny like his previous roles, like Guardians of The Galaxy, i disagree. That role need a strong and responsibility man and a funny guy wouldn't fit in the genre. The dinos are fine e vast and the (spoiler) King is back, so i couldn't asked for more. They are everything i wanted to see. No feathers and others stuffs. Just the old and gold reptiliam gore!!!!!! I think that compare it to the first movie is a sin. Is like compare Alien with Aliens, both have their own merits and are good in their peculiar aspects, because they have diferent goals. That is the way i see Jurassic World, no need for comparisons. Ultimately, i think the movie pay respect for the previous movies and is very nostalgic at times, but without disconnecting from its own reality, and that is definitely what this movie is about! We are not in 1993. We have technology, people got tired of the same dinos and the movie brought all that new stuff without losing its soul. For all that said i consider this a very very good movie and i loved every moment of it. Expand

Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard the film plays as a direct sequel to the original “Jurassic Park” released 22 years ago this week. Both “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” & “Jurassic Park III” are still considered a part of the shared universe but neither of the latter films are referenced. Instead “Jurassic World” plays up the nostalgia of the first film and has many included references. The film is definitely a must see of the summer and does play better than both of the previous sequels. Unfortunately it cannot compete with the awe and wonder one felt watching the first film in the series back in 1993. A simple formula is followed in this film which should surprise no one. Man creates dinosaurs, dinosaurs eat man, man brings Chris Pratt in to fight dinosaurs, and scene. As simple as it sounds though it still works. Pratt is the real deal and the whole time I was watching the film I felt like I was watching an audition tape for a new Indiana Jones movie. The man is fun to watch and believable in his role. Bryce Dallas Howard flies under the radar early in the film but then really starts to shine as the film goes on. Her character was also the most unbelievable element in a film full of dinosaurs though by being in high heels the entire time. The supporting cast was good with Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus, and “Jurassic Park” alum BD Wong. I especially liked Khan’s role as Simon Masrani. D’Onofrio’s character was interesting before turning into a walking cliché by the third act. Now onto my only real gripe with the film, the kids. The performances were fine but I found neither actor, Ty Simpkins or Nick Robinson, to be charismatic or enthralling in any way. I didn’t care what was happening to them or what was going on in their lives. It is another pointless child inclusion storyline that Hollywood includes in their films because I guess they think it appeals to a broader audience. I must say though when I was a kid I didn’t care about if there were kids in the movie in a significant role. I just wanted to see whatever the heroes were doing against the dinosaurs, monsters, aliens, etc. This brings me to the thing we all want to see, the dinosaurs. They were thrilling and wonderful to see as always. I felt the rush of excitement from my 8-year old self finally getting to see an Ankylosaurus, one of my favorite dinosaurs growing up, in action on the big screen. By the end of the film everything culminates into a fantastic dino-action scene; high heels and all. So go to the theater, grab that rail seat, and kick up your feet for an enjoyable dinosaur experience. Don’t blink or you’ll miss Jeff Goldblum and Jimmy Buffet’s small inclusions. Buffet’s was especially humorous. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jurassic World is more science fiction than the first Jurassic Park. I mean, we have the "Dr. Frankenstein" Dr. Henry Wu that I found surprisingly the true villain in the movie. The computer animation could use a little work, but it sure does look better than the Lost World does. I loved to see the dinosaurs, and even the new hybrid looked pretty cool! It is sure worth looking at it in 3-D, and it will more than likely have your heart pounding in some scenes. The raptors I can't understand, though. They are not near as fierce as they are in the first, and they look different. It's not like Jurassic Park 3 though. They looked ridiculous. Some people think this is a monster movie, but I think it is a movie with our relationship with animals. Some people don't see that, but I do. And Jurassic World was very well made. Expand

Firstly Jurassic Park is one of my all time favourite movies. I saw it when I was 11 and loved it ever since. As for the sequels, The Lost World is watch-able and Jurassic Park III does not even deserve the JP title. The series lost its way and you would have been forgiven for thinking, as I did, that any more sequels would have no chance of being halfway decent. It defies reason then that Trevorrow can come to this franchise with only one film under his belt and produce the best sequel to Jurassic Park. Not only that but Trevorrow set out to recreate the feeling of what it was like to watch the first film back in 1993 and for me he damn near succeeded. The only thing that stopped it feeling like a full 1993 nostagia package was that I had seen the dinosaurs before. Everything I had been concerned with in the trailers just works. Chris Pratt and the Raptors - its great! The I-Rex is genuinely the scariest creature since JP's T-Rex. And as for the T-Rex, his reappearance later in the movie was entirely predictable, highly anticipated and awesome. The whole film feels like a breath of fresh air with a promising future that entirely ignores parts two and three. I can't wait to see it again . . . it can't be as good as I remember can it? Expand

For Jurassic World, the hype and the expectations were staggering. Can it beat the original? Can it put the other two non satisfying sequels to shame? The answer is that one of these objectives was accomplished while one will perhaps never be accomplished. Jurassic World takes place 20 years after the original "accident" with Hammond's park thriving with attendance and focus groups, everything we've come to expect from Corporate America (wink wink). To help boost attendance, or perhaps wallets, a new hybrid will be debuting. The problem is the hybrid has been kept in isolation and soon figures out, I don't deserve to be in a cage I deserve to create havoc. While much of the plot seems unoriginal, credit must be given to the filmmakers for paying homage to Spielberg. As Spielberg continues to make movies, his style of filmmaking becomes quite present and in return, if one follows the blueprint, you have an homage. This is not an unsatisfying reboot, but certainly does not live up to expectations. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Being a 90s kid I grew up on these movies. Being born in 1993 and the Jurassic Park movie releasing in 1993 these movies were always my favorite. Not just for the thrill but for the love of dinosaurs in general. I went and saw Jurassic World the day of release. There's honestly not a negative thing I can say about this movie. Taking a movie that came out over a decade ago and revolutionizing it to fit a modern appeal was not an easy thing to do. Going from the original Park being a private opening, and going to a Park open to the public there is a lot of things that would have needed to be done to make it the way it should be. the only negative thing I can say about this movie is it should not have been released in 3D. It's kind of a cheesy way to present this movie. But that's my opinion only. If you are a big jurassic park fan and love all of the books and movies, then you should not be disappointed with this movie. I saw it on the 12th and am already wanting for it to come out on Blueray. Comparing this movie to the original is like comparing a 1920 car to a 2015 car, there's no reason for it, the originality of the first Jurassic Park is great, but this is a sequel not a "original movie". I would love to see this series booted back up into more movies or possibly even a TV show to see how Ingen rebuilds. Expand

I have been waiting for this movie for 14 years and it was definitely worth the wait. Definitely better than the third movie and possibly the second one, it was so enjoyable to watch and reminded me why I love this franchise. Also all the people who gave this movie very negative reviews are just major butt hurts who wouldn't know a good movie if it hit them in the face. Also to all those who say it's not as good as the original, that's true because you'll never be able to capture the awe and wonderment of the first movie again, but you can't keep rating that as a big negative point. So all the people who keep calling this movie terrible and all kinds of other horrible things are honest idiots who don't have any taste in movies. Expand

In movie sequels high expectations usually mean high disappointment.
I came into the theatre knowing that the 90's are behind us forever but, somehow life found tis way.
But how do you write a sequel to such a beloved classic and, somehow try not to mess up?
Well by rembering what made the first such a beloved classic in the first place, and to me, it will alyways be two things:
- the sense of wonder for
- the ethical dilemma: is science going to far?
JP 2 and 3 lacked these points, and it resulted in a mindless monster chase where people were just there to be eaten and dinosaurs could have been easily replaced with a screaming banana.
In jurassic wold both the audience and the characters are enough genre savy to understand what is going on around them, so in a new, fully operational park we recreate the sense of wonder by the Point of view of Gray, a child who sees dinosaurs for the first time.
It is worth noting that he never uses smartphones to take pictures, he experiences the world through his eyes.
In a world where lack of excitment is a plot point, the "greedy corporatives" who speak by numbers and focus groups try to shake things up by messing up with nature itself.
A new creature, an hybrid, to reinvigorate the excitmente, is the trigger that makes the plot explode.
Of course we know what will happen, of course we know that characters have plot armor but the execution of the movie is good enough to let suspend our disbelief.
We root for this characters to survive, we root for the dinosaurs for the right to "live".
We choose a side when the movie presents questions like "is science an accoplishment or is it playing god?".
We all saw the trailer, and some decisions could go either way: insanely awesome or insanely stupid.
The movie walks this thin line, especially with the raptors and I was surprised how they managed to mess this up.
The ending of the climax though, gets a little bit too awkward because of these decisions.
Overall, without spoiling plot or something, I highly recomend this movie, it is a worthy sequel of a classic and brings enough new things to the table to keep things fresh and interesting.

Some of the scenes were highly unnecessary. The character development in this one was below par, because I wanted to know more about them. Things would've been a lot better with Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, but instead they went for the new route, which was okay......On the positive side, the movie looks great, but not the best looking movie of this year. It was nice to hear the original theme song,it really reminded me when I saw the first Jurassic Park for the first time with the opening sequence of the island. The action was good, and I guess the third act of this film was worth the admission. So is it better than Jurassic Park 3? Yes. Is it better than the first Jurassic Park? That's a BIG NO!! Despite some of the unnecessary scenes and dumb characters, the movie was fun....mindless fun to be exact. Expand

"Hold on to your butts".

Jurassic World takes place 22 years after the original Jurassic Park failed the new park (also know as Jurassic World) is open for business. Jurassic World welcomes visitors from around the world to explore the wonders of seeing dinosaurs roam the Earth once again. Yet waning attendance has the Masrani Corporation focused on a new attraction - a genetically-modified dinosaur - a brand new species - but the plan backfires and threatens everyone on the island.

Jurassic World is a movie that nobody thought was going to happen, and that's because of the long development and the little bits of rumors about the project and that's the behind the scenes and some of the people who was working on the film dropped out due to many different reasons. Me and almost everyone give up on the film getting made, I mean it's been about 14 years (As I speak) since the third movie came out and the very last time we sawed Jurassic Park. Until one day, it happened, it finally happened. We finally got the movie we been waiting for and the first teaser trailer may have some people mixed about it, but almost everyone was excited for Jurassic World, and that's because the trailer caught that magic and wonder that Spielberg's Jurassic Park had.

Now after seeing the movie yesterday I got to say it's a way way better movie than Jurassic Park 3, but not as brilliant as Steven Spielberg Jurassic Park but I think I'm being a bit too harsh comparing the too because nothing can't top the first one and I wasn't really expecting this movie to do that, I'm just saying.

The director of the movie Colin Trevorrow has spoken out before saying how much he loved the first Jurassic Park movie and how that was he's childhood nostalgic. Now the only movie I've seen Colin Trevorrow directed is Safety Not Guaranteed which I sawed about couple days ago and I thought that movie was good but with many flawless which I will go into one day in my upcoming review for it, but anyway Colin Trevorrow as a director he's pretty good and in this movie he's directing was a bit off at times in a couple of scenes, but the rest of the time I thought he did good directing.

Chris Pratt was hands down the biggest stand out of the whole movie. Chris really won me over of being a down to earth action star with movies like Zero Dark Thirty and Guardians of the Galaxy. Every time he was on screen I was interested in his character because he was cool and was the only likable person in the movie. Chris Pratt did a awesome job in the movie and if they do make another Jurassic Park movie I really hope he's in it because he was the only enjoyable character in this movie.

The one thing I was a bit worried about before seeing the movie is the amount of CGI used in the movie, I mean just judging by the trailer they looked like a lot and yes these loads of CG in the movie, but for the most part it did look good at times and during the action scenes. But I will agree that these a little bit too much of it and some of it looks unfinished and didn't look like it's in the same environment with the actors.

The Indominus Rex in the movie was both menacing, scary and freaking cool and refreshing to see. The end battle which I won't give away was the highlight of the movie and it was a great way to end the movie.

I also love how the movie tells everyone to forget Jurassic Park 3, it's like a sorry letter to the fans and admitting that the third one sucked, even through this movie isn't flawless as well.

Now for the problems: Now I talked about Chris Pratt character being the whole good thing in the movie...well that's saying a lot if you compare he's character to the rest, because every character in this movie are dull and flat or just idiotic. I think the movie mostly focus on is action scenes and the dinosaurs being cool, but not really focusing on the character and let's not forget that what made the original Jurassic Park movie so special is the character's and how likable they are. Bryce Dallas Howard character was one unlikable character and the movie tries to make you like her towards the end, but I still didn't like her.

The writing in this movie is really flat and pretty awful at times. Now I have seen many movies that I can picture in my head of the writers just given up and put whatever down to make them feel that it good enough, but this is very close to being that. These many plot holes in the movie and scenes that didn't really make any sense at all, like how people are getting pretty bored of the dinosaurs thing, I mean WHAT!, how on earth can you be bored of seeing dinosaur's it's like the best thing to happen in a long time, now I now the movie does explain why but I don't buy into that at all. Oh and there's another sub plot in the movie with this government people wanting to take the velociraptor in war zone for a military weapon and that right there is so freaking stupid and so idiotic to do, because velociraptor can't just kill bad people they can turn on you because it's in they nature to kill and to them your just meat to eat.

The kid actors in the movie didn't do terrible job when it comes to acting, but they are scenes where they keep looking straight at the camera like most kid actors do, I know it's only for a split second but it took me of the movie a little bit and I couldn't take it seriously when they did that, and it happens more then once in the movie. The movie keeps cutting back to them and they not interesting at all and slowed down the movie for me.

The movie keeps re-creating or showing scenes that are just like the original Jurassic Park movie and after a while it got a bit annoying and pretty old really fast, I mean I would like if they just did a new movie with a new story, and not just keep going back to the original Jurassic Park and telling us how great Jurassic Park was.

Overall Jurassic World is a big improvement from Jurassic Park 3. It may seem like I'm nick picking here but that's just my honest thoughts of the movie. You may like it more then me and these nothing wrong with that, I thought the movie was good if I was judging it only as a Jurassic Park movie, but the movie dose have many flaws that could be improved on easily. Beside that I enjoyed the movie for what it was and I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Another positve aspect is, that It was not to childish, in fact I think it was quite brutal for a 12+ rating.
There were many bad things about the film, for instance, the worst 3D effect I have ever scene, with some scenes, where the vfx were obviously unfinished.
However, the only important thing is, the film was fun and beautiful to watch.

Interesting thing is B. D. Wong acted as a scientist in Jurassic Park and he did as well in Jurassic World.

The CGI was actually pretty good, the actors did a good job for what they had, and the overall look of the movie is enough to make even the harshest movie critics leave at least some positive notes. Now, some elements were bad, like some cheesy humor, but, if you are a fan of Jurassic Park, you will most likely have learned to ignore all the negatives. The movie is most certainly not for people looking for a possible Best Picture contender, but is an enjoyable and fun movie. Parental Guidance is required if any young ones are looking to see their favorite dinos chase people around the mountains of Isla Nublar, but they shouldn't be having nightmares when they go to sleep (unless of course they are bothered watching humans become dino food. I mean, what kind of dinosaur movie has humans and dinosaurs on the same island and no one dies? Trust me, no one would watch that movie). So, this movie is not disappointing, unless of course you dislike Jurassic Park, or dinosaurs for some reason, but, if you did, then why the heck are you watching it? Expand

Jurassic World was everything John Hammond wanted this place to be, but since the dinosaurs were lose in Jurassic Park (1993) and the park was at risk it was obvious that it was not to be released in the public’s eye. Jurassic world is fully operational and the lab created a hybrid dinosaur that will attract more visitors once this thing gets out it will eat people, (okay this film does copy the first one). Jurassic World is astonishing; I was waiting for the moments in the trailer to be showed in the film and once they were showed it was awesome, it was better than the third one, this film is two hours filled with dinosaurs chasing people and eating them, people running for their lives it’s groundbreaking but it’s not even close as being good as the first one. So Bryce Dallas Howard plays Claire, she is an executive at Jurassic World she tries too hard to make Jurassic World perfect all she cares about is what the public wants. After “Guardians of the galaxy” Chris Pratt shows that he can act and he is good in this movie; so he plays Owen, a former navy man who is a Velociraptor whisper (think of him as the trainer or something), so Claire wants him to take a look at this hybrid dinosaur but he tells Claire and the lab that is a bad idea (yep this film is filled with idiots!). So Claire’s nephews Mr. Lady’s man (Nick Robinson) and his perky little brother (Ty Simpkins) come to have fun at Jurassic World, they ran away from Claire’s British assistant and have fun together at the wrong moment then the hybrid dinosaur is on the lose trying to kill for sport (what is with the script it copies off the first one). We can tell co-writer/director Colin Trevorrow loves Spielberg’s Jurassic Park franchise, the way he is behind the camera. And he tries to bring to the “Jaws” formula and collages them together I am not sure if it’s a good idea. Trevorrow and his team create new special effects that are good but it’s not fresh like Winston’s team did back in 1993. Pratt as the hero was awesome the way he brings the charisma to the project he’s like Dr. Grant’s intelligence mixed in with Ian Malcom’s humor. Bryce Dallas Howard was a great heroine in this film she is like Ellie’s charisma mixed in with John Hammond. The problem with the film is the script it has too much backstory and it tries to copy off the first one back in 1993, it does not have intense anxiety like the first one. Expand

Jurassic World was a great movie for 2015, the special effects were amazing, the story felt just like the first Jurassic Park but optimized. There were quite a few references to the original, some are hard to find and others you can tell straight that it was a reference.
The script seemed odd and little lacking but I still didn't really mind about it. The movie keeps you suck to your seat with scenes that may make you shiver a little. The films choices of who dies and who doesn't matches with who you may think that would die but some deaths I didn't really think were very necessary or just the wrong way for them to die.

Overall the film is a blast. I had alot of fun watching it, it was entertaining, amazing and thrilling.

However this movie was not without flaws but let's start with the positives: Chris Pratt was by far the best character in the movie and this role cements him, in my opinion, as a young star. The action was well directed and there was good comedy relief throughout the movie. The new dinosaur worked as well. The negatives are that the cgi was not convincing in some shots and I feel like directors can't just rely on cgi these days. Spielberg understood that you need to have machine dinosaurs that look perfect in close up shots. There are also two boys in this movie that didn't really add anything and kinda dragged the movie down when I wanted the movie to focus on chris and killing the dinosaurs. Also, the opening shot of the park where the iconic music starts was just embarrasingly underwhelming. I mean the song was playing when it shows the park and the inside of a hotel! Whoopdi Doo! I didn't watch the movie to see real estate! Another thing, I mean the movie doesn't address, at all, how the hell the lawyers and the government allowed this park to be reopened after the catastrophes of the past. With all that said I highly recommend you watch the movie. It's a great time. Expand

I felt like a kid again watching this! Though it doesn't have the same punch or as many awe-inspiring moments as the first Jurassic Park, this was a refreshing change of pace for the franchise. And even though The Lost World: Jurassic Park in my opinion is a very underrated film, Jurassic World is very worthy successor to the first movie and is a much needed improvement over the last two sequels, even The Lost World. I really enjoyed the fact that a lot of elements in the first movie make a comeback in this film. Chris Pratt's character is also the best the part of this movie and makes a lot of elements in this film that could have been super cheesy into cool and badass instead. My two major complaints though are that some of the supporting characters are not very well developed, and there are times where the movie gets very predictable. Other than that, have fun! It's a fun roller coaster ride with dinosaurs and is also the best Jurassic Park sequel to date. Expand

Synopsis: The movie was Great it had good CGI and effects and great actors overall 9/10

Review: [spoilers for the first five minutes] The movie starts with two kids leaving to see there aunt who lives and works at Jurassic World and then stuff happens.
The beginning is a bit slow but the pace does pick up, the writing is good, but a bit predictable and the cast was really good, and the acting was mostly great but
at sometimes a bit weird. The CGI and effects are great the dinosaurs look great, but sometimes the CGI makes them look a bit fake or it just could be the fact that they
are dinosaurs. The references to the old movies are pretty good such as and old location being seen and explored, and one of the I.T guys wearing a Jurassic Park shirt.
Also the comedy is well timed and not overdone. The action is also spot on. so overall a 9/10

Viewing guide: I would recommend you don't take any kids under 8 - 10 to this movie because things die and there is blood but overall it could be a good movie
for the family
